The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable, which we appreciated. However, compared with other Holiday Inn Express locations we’ve stayed at, this stay was disappointing. Parking is included, but the parking structure is behind another hotel rather than directly at the Holiday Inn Express. This meant walking from the garage, around the other hotel, and back to our hotel. We attended a late-night concert and had to make that walk around midnight, which felt a little concerning and inconvenient. Breakfast, usually one of the reasons we choose Holiday Inn Express, was disappointing. The pancake machine and omelet bar weren’t working, the milk was expired, and the complimentary coffee machine was unavailable because it needed to be cleaned. We also got locked out of our bathroom because of a broken latch. Maintenance took about an hour to fix it, and we were told the previous guest had broken it, which made us wonder why it wasn’t addressed before our stay. While the room was clean and comfortable, there were too many maintenance and service issues for this stay to meet the standard we’ve experienced at other Holiday Inn Express locations.
