An atmospheric experience awaits you in the Norwegian log cabin on Helgenæs. The wild natural grounds and warm wooden walls will create a cozy setting for your holiday. There's room for the family with both children and dogs. So step inside under the green grass roof in the rooms that welcome you with their rustic charm.
In the living room, you can gather on the large corner sofa. If you come in winter, you can sit close under blankets as the wind whips around the house and the snow settles on the window frames. The kids can sit on the bench at the dining table and paint, while you can cook in the kitchen and talk to each other through the small window into the living room. When it's bedtime for the little ones, they can be tucked into the bunk beds in one of the rooms at the other end of the house so they won't be disturbed when you continue chatting in the living room over a glass of rosé.
From the kitchen you can walk straight out onto the covered terrace. It's always sheltered, so it's the perfect place to curl up with a book on the comfy cushions. Even in winter, you can sit here for a while wearing mittens, hats and jackets and just let the cold air fill your lungs while the snow brings silence. In summer, you can sit at the table on the grass under the parasol and have a barbecue or gather around the fire in the evening and tell spooky stories. You can also explore the wild nature grounds and collect exciting insects with the kids.
There are plenty of opportunities for great nature experiences in the area, as Mols Bjerge National Park is just around the corner. For example, you can take a day trip to Kalø Castle Ruin and look out over the bay. You can also cycle around Helgenæs and pass small farms or fields with horses and cows. If you take the car, you can drive to beautiful Ebeltoft where you can visit the art and culture center in the old Malt Factory. Not far from Ebeltoft, you'll also find Ree Park Safari with adventures for the whole family. Children can play in the playground next to the lion cage or get up close to the playful monkeys.
