Only saw one member of staff, Tod, who seemed to do everything and was super. Very expensive room, The Harbour Suite, lacked privacy with people walking right past our windows all the time. Also seemingly very heavy, noisy guests in room above clumping about. No guest slippers, no cupboard or wardrobe and no safe in room which I’d expect for the hefty price. Breakfast haphazard and meagre. Restaurant food even worse. Left my steak. Champagne with no bubbles. On the plus side the bed was comfy and it was clean.

Amazing. A beautiful double room. Best room in Tasmania. No expense spared. First class.

Place is great! Clean. Relaxing. Just undergoing renovation but when done, I’m sure it would be even better.

The room had zero privacy. The windows that were floor to ceiling surrounding the bed and bathtub were directly against a walkway that guests and restaurant patrons needed to walk along. There was no privacy film so we needed to have the curtains drawn at all times. There was also building work happening on the property (which wasn’t disclosed before arrival) and they were drilling/hammering at 7am. There was dirt on the walkways and no staff in the reception. The TV which was a feature in the listing (described as a movie theatre experience) only allowed a few channels which all had ads - we weren’t able to stream to it from our devices either. I called to ask for help and nobody came. There was no assigned parking so after a large group arrived, we were forced to park in what essentially was a swamp around the back of the building. A truly disappointing experience for what was supposed to be a romantic, private, birthday getaway. Oh and the robes supplied were very small.

There was no mention of this property being ‘under construction’ at time of booking. We arrived late at night, retrieved the key, with no instructions to the location of our room. Other guests pointed us in the correct direction to find our room. The gas fire was not lit, and we were unable to light it ourselves. We called for help, and were told that they could not help, but instead offered us a discount. Even at 50% off room price, it was overpriced for the state it was in. Drinking glasses in the bathroom were dirty, as was the kettle. There were used coffee pods inside the coffee machine. And the glass shelves were visibly dusty. We were woken in the morning by noisy construction.
