Wakefield Limes Lodge

Check in was 3pm but On arrival there was no one there so didn’t know if I could leave the car in the car park before checking in & no where to leave your bags if you’d not come via car. Room was very clean, comfortable & had tea & coffee facilities & also had a small fridge. Very quiet hotel. Ten minute drive from Wakefield centre. Plenty of pubs which do food with in walking distance. Bus stop right outside.

Overall I would say the hotel was fine for a stop over. Not sure I would want to spend a long time at the hotel. The room was nice, good value for the price and decently furnished. The staffing was a bit disappointing. There was no one on reception when we arrived and when someone did check us in, were then told the chef was off and there was no food available. It's proximity to the M62 also led to some road noise. We only used it as a base and only spent a short time in the room other than to sleep. I would suggest it would be fine for one night stop over, but wouldn't recommend for a long stay.

Lovely hotel hidden away from the world. Could not do enough for me and helped sort out a business meeting with ease and comfort. Highly recommend

Friendly reception staff. Room is basic but spacious. Main problem is that wifi wasn't working the day I arrived - hope it will be fixed today as advised. Also no remote for the TV, but not a big problem. Plenty of parking and good bus service into Leeds.

A converted vicarage. Set back from the road with ample parking. It is next to a motorway, however road noise was only evident when windows were open (so not something I think needs to be a concern). Restaurant (currently) closed, though there are tea/coffee facilities in room. Only one building has ramp access and (most) doors need two hands to operate (one for lock, one for handle). Overall economical, clean and easy to recommend as a place to stay.

Was looking for a good value place to stay for a work trip. This place was perfectly fine for the price and the staff were helpful. Looks like the bathrooms have been recently refurbished to a good standard. Free parking included is a bonus.

The overall experience was great, the only negatives were traffic noise and lack of breakfast options.

We were so happy with our stay at Wakefield Lime Hotel. Such a great value for money and were welcomed with a warming smile from the hotel manager who was very helpful. A nice, relaxed environment compared to bigger chain hotels. didn’t mind us coming in late and even let us stay longer than we were supposed to in the morning. Although there was not a hot breakfast option, there was cereal, toast, cappuccino etc which was great to start us off for the day. Good location as it was only a 15 minute drive into the city centre. Thank you again to the hotel manager for being so kind and chatty, we would definitely stay again.

Given its very modest room rate, this hotel overachieved my expectations. I was very comfortable with large well heated rooms. It was cleaned and decorated to a good standard - above what I expected at this price point. Parking was good and convenient. It was a short drive into Leeds city centre where hotels are three times the rate and without the parking convenience In summary, I would stay here again as an overnight stay. Top tips: I saw no evidence of food service, The proprietors have left a list of takeaways and restaurants and made arrangements for you to eat on-site. Reception closes at 8 pm - for prepaid visits ( I used hotels.com) they will make arrangements to leave you keys in a secure box that I was able to access at 11:30 pm following a late arrival from London. There is a bus stop outside with direct service to Leeds city.

Very basic not a nice smell in the building telly remote not working bought battery’s but still not working. Not a very nice place to stop won’t be back Ariel for telly stuck to window with tape couldn’t see through windows mucky and condescension missing hooks on curtains and not clean

the worse hotel ever stay, WiFi is terrible also phone signal, basically no connection, chair is wobble and danger to sit, the size and where place hand wash isn't adequate and not safe to use.

The lady who checked me in was lovely; very efficient and friendly. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable if maybe a little tired looking in places (in room 7 above the shower there were signs of a leak from upstairs). My room was very small which was fine as I was a single occupant, but definitely not big enough for two people. As there is no food offered on site it might be nice to have been supplied a little fridge or something in the room to keep milk and things cold. Nice that there is a welcome pack in the room that gives locations of local places to eat. Really not a fan of the check-out procedure at all! Due to reception only being open in the afternoon, and check out required by 10.30 am, you leave your room keys in a basket in the hallway. Meaning after you check out, but before the reception is manned, your room key is left out whereby anyone could take your room key and enter the room and cause damage, steal things etc. and the hotel would have to assume you did it. Really think a more secure post-box type system should be introduced if you want to continue with this check-out procedure. This is very much a "get what you pay for" type of hotel. Cheap compared to other hotels in the area, but also certainly lacks amenities. Would consider staying here in the future, but only as a single overnight stay if I was passing through the area.

Clean room, helpful staff

We stayed here 5 years ago and loved the place. This time we found the place was tired and very poorly maintained. The room was generally clean but some details were inadequate eg there was a bottle of hand wash and a bottle of body wash, but no shampoo. We were there for 2 days but there was only one toilet roll. We ran out on the first day but there was no one there to ask. I went to the gents toilet hoping to find one, but they had run out too. We had to go to the shops and buy one. We had another issue and rang the phone number provided on the business card, but no one answered. We would not stay here again.

This hotel is situated immediately adjacent to a major and very noisy highway. If you care about sleeping, go elsewhere

Nothing to complain. Not a destination itself (apart perhaps for those who will appreciate the suggestive church and graveyard next to it…) but a fair stay
