Kuluhana Hotel & Villas Kalkan

The best things about this hotel for me was the view. To be si close to the sea was wonderful and it is a very peaceful location I booked the economy room on the ground floor but it has no privacy from other guests coming and going, so I paid extra for a room on the first floor. The room was modern and quite tastefully decorated with a fair sized balcony. However it was really very basic and the shower room /toilet was tiny. I am older and was travelling solo . I didn't realise how steep the hills are to walk out of Kışla to Kalkan so I relied on taxis @ 30O tl each way to Kalkan. Taxi service is very reliable.. I think there may be a new owner, as I did not experience the friendly customer care, other quests wrote of years ago. In fact the owner Elis ? was distant and quite miserable . The two members of staff seemed unhappy and remote too - there was never any friendly communication ,even to ask if everything was ok. Breakfast was disappointing and as someone else said much needs to be done to clean litter from the surrounding environment. All in all, huge potential but I'm afraid I wont go back.

Çok güzel bir manzara var, odalar temiz, konuma ulaşmak çok zor değil, merkezden 2 km, teras çok geniş, kahvaltı standart

I had the economy room, it was absolutely terrible, the owner is very nice , but they think people are stupid and should accept all things wrong, for one, the room overlooks the common area , yet the curtains are see through and do not cover the entire window, second of all, the shower was disgusting, bacteria, broken and leaking shower, and does not drain well, the rest of the bathroom, extremely old and leaky, I was supposed to stay 4 nights, I cancelled the last two nights and was thrilled to be out of there. Also internet did not work neither did the TV, every time I told the owner, he would say I will not be renting this room next season, well, excuse me, if it is this bad, why are you renting it now and making people miserable. Also breakfast was terrible, those butter packs were so old , you could smell how rotten they were, extremely poor breakfast based on Turkish standard. I was very disappointed and uncomfortable.
