3rd time I have stayed here so must be getting something right! The lovely, helpful and responsive staff make a very positive contribution. The food is okay for the price and plenty of options to raise the bar (and the price) nearby. Parking no more than 1 minute walk from your room. Same for 50KWh EV chargers if required. If you’re missing your oat milk flat white….it’s a 2 minute walk to the cafe in the corner of the square.

In a fantastic position overlooking the Market Square with, almost, free parking (£1 in honesty box). Handy for the Theakstone and Black Sheep breweries, plus other lovely pubs in the village. Staff were all very nice and helpful, Chris and Gaye at breakfast were magic. Great place to stay.

4th visit to Kings Head as we love Masham. We were in the rooms to the rear of the hotel which were spacious and clean. Lovely hot chocolate, border biscuits and mini green and black chocolate were lovely touches along with the tea selection and fresh coffee bags. We didn't eat at Kings Head but had a nice pint in there to finish the evening. Love Masham and this is our regular play to stay there. Amble free car parking in the market sq it borders.

My friends and I had a great three nights at the King's Head. The accommodation was good with a sizable and clean room. The breakfast was great with a lot of variety. We ate in the restaurant twice during our stay and the menu was varied and quality was good. The hotel bar serves a wide selection of spirits and wine and the beer from the two local breweries was excellent.

In the centre of Masham so easy to walk around the town and just a short walk from Black Sheep Brewery Visitor Centre. Great base for touring dales. Relaxed atmosphere and very dog friendly.

Had a two night stay in July they put in the small annex to the rear of the main building, dont advise its where dog owners are put(we didnt have a dog) so dont know why we ended up there. The main bed room was ok but the bathroom was poor cracked tiles paint peeling off the walls and the wash basin gad two hairline cracks in the basin and the taps were loose. The cleaning staff came in but didnt clean room only updated tea and coffee, staff were ok but not over friendly. Wouldnt go back.

What a pretty hotel ... I loved my room! It was situated at the side of the main hotel & had a very quaint feel to it. The room was beautifully decorated with a spacious bathroom. Absolutely spotless. The bed was super cosy & comfy & I had the best nights sleep. Room temperature was perfect too. Just right & not too hot as some often can be The staff wete all vety friendly, efficient & helpful. I'll definitely be back! Thank you for such a lovely stay

Great setting and a well appointed hotel. Very friendly staff and the breakfast team was particularly welcoming. The breakfast itself was excellent and whilst the evening meal was good it was also over priced. The room was comfortable and clean and we overlooked the village square which made for a pleasant view. The shower was not the strongest but the fluffiness of the towels made up for this blip. The decor was a little shabby in places but nothing that spoiled the trip.

Welcome, room, food and bar area are all good. Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. The whole building just needs some care and attention - looking dated. Redecorating throughout especially in public areas is long over due and if you look closely a deep clean in the high use areas is needed.

The room was a little damp and the bathroom wasn't as well cleaned as it should be. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The restaurant choices were hood and food was good.

We had a lovely time staying at The Kings Head in Masham. It was a very welcoming place to stay. Both the breakfast and dinner menus were plentiful with great choices to choose from. We stayed in a large outside room that had king size bed which was very comfortable. The bathroom had a bath with a shower.

Another stay here. But have to say this was the most disappointing room we have stayed in here from all the times we have stayed. Signs of damp in bathroom and just inside front door. Room was nice but small

Lovely place to stay in the heart of the square, stayed here before easy but efficient check in, we had a courtyard room 27 prefer this to hotel as I’m not good with stairs, it was very quiet lovely queen bed & bathroom contain a separate bath & shower nice decorated, we had an evening meal in the dining room which you need to book in advance with relatives the food was delicious. The breakfast service next morning was delivered by Chris & (sorry forgot their name), what a team they were brilliant they pandered to our ever need nothing too much trouble they were friendly too.

The staff were very welcoming and check in was simple. the dining room staff (Gaye and Chris)were attentive to customer's needs and helpful in every way. In some areas the property was in need of upgrading, but clean and tidy.

Staff were very friendly, room was clean and tidy. Think they must have been short of staff in the kitchen as we were booked in for an 8.30 evening meal and meal arrived at 9.30. The next morning breakfast, we went down for 9am hoping to be served reasonably quickly. 9.25 we decided to have cereal and toast, 9.30 someone came to take our order but we didn't have time to wait as we were meeting friends at 10am. However the next morning we were seen quickly and enjoyed a full English breakfast. Would definitely visit the hotel again.

The staff were delightful and really went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Including a hand written note in my room upon arrival and addressing me by name at breakfast. Something I've never experienced before. A great place.

Staff were amazing, couldn’t do enough for you. We had a problem with our shower, it couldn’t be fixed in the time we were there but gave us the use of another room so we could still shower etc. breakfast was fabulous this is a brilliant place to stay and we plan on returning soon.

We were a large group staying at Kings Head at weekend. Customer service was excellent. Service at meal times was excellent - team managed to get 19 main courses out at the same time. Would Def stay again if in Masham

When we arrived they couldn't find our booking but they were so helpful and sorted it out very quickly the staff's makes this place so welcoming and helpful from reception to bar and restaurant wow defo 10* from us only thing let it down was the cooked breakfast but cold for selection was spot on. Staff were so funny made our day as never been before and was like we were regulars. Thanks so much for sorting a lush room out..

In a fantastic position overlooking the Market Square with, almost, free parking (£1 in honesty box). Handy for the Theakstone and Black Sheep breweries, plus other lovely pubs in the village. Staff were all very nice and helpful, Chris and Gaye at breakfast were magic. Great place to stay.

In the centre of Masham so easy to walk around the town and just a short walk from Black Sheep Brewery Visitor Centre. Great base for touring dales. Relaxed atmosphere and very dog friendly.

We booked this hotel having stayed at Greene King hotels in the past and enjoyed the food etc . We booked 8 weeks in advance and received an email 8 days before arriving there would be no food and kitchen was closed in evenings !!! To Cap it all they refused to let me pay by cash and I had to get a fellow traveller to pay my bill. Needless to say I won't be back.

My friends and I had a great three nights at the King's Head. The accommodation was good with a sizable and clean room. The breakfast was great with a lot of variety. We ate in the restaurant twice during our stay and the menu was varied and quality was good. The hotel bar serves a wide selection of spirits and wine and the beer from the two local breweries was excellent.

Staff were very friendly, room was clean and tidy. Think they must have been short of staff in the kitchen as we were booked in for an 8.30 evening meal and meal arrived at 9.30. The next morning breakfast, we went down for 9am hoping to be served reasonably quickly. 9.25 we decided to have cereal and toast, 9.30 someone came to take our order but we didn't have time to wait as we were meeting friends at 10am. However the next morning we were seen quickly and enjoyed a full English breakfast. Would definitely visit the hotel again.

Staff were amazing, couldn’t do enough for you. We had a problem with our shower, it couldn’t be fixed in the time we were there but gave us the use of another room so we could still shower etc. breakfast was fabulous this is a brilliant place to stay and we plan on returning soon.

Great setting and a well appointed hotel. Very friendly staff and the breakfast team was particularly welcoming. The breakfast itself was excellent and whilst the evening meal was good it was also over priced. The room was comfortable and clean and we overlooked the village square which made for a pleasant view. The shower was not the strongest but the fluffiness of the towels made up for this blip. The decor was a little shabby in places but nothing that spoiled the trip.

We’ve stayed at the King’s Head over 20 years or so, as such we’ve seen the hotel in different guises. The room itself is ok, clean on the face but the rooms need an overhaul. I know it’s a country pub, rustic etc but should we have spiders, cobwebs, and dust? Given the amount of money these rooms demand it’s simply not good enough, certainly in comparison. The hotel has hosted many a happy memory but I don’t think we’ll return.
