Just needed a room for the night for an event the following morning but we were pleasantly surprised. Games room (free) and swimming pool and the Bistro meant it was easy for the little one with us but it was in walking distance to the HV shops too. Great central location and facilities, friendly staff.

Fabulous stay, wonderful facilities, lovely dip in the swimming pool. Gathered here.with a group of friends, perfect location for a wine tour which if course we did. Staff friendly. Will stay again

Look like they short of staff around the pool area needs cleaning leaf on the ground and lunch time dinner plates still sitting on table in the pool area 4 hours just small things still excellent place to stay

We were having a celebratory dinner at a vinyard in the Hunter Valley. Mercure provided a perfect central location to stop. Beautiful surroundings, even if it was raining, covered walkways and an evening fire in a cosy lounge.

We were very pleased that we were able to check in early upon arrival and also have a later check out. It made it easier for our stay. The property is beautiful, we loved the interior design and liked that we could use to pool table and the hot tub. Our room was very clean and had all the we required for our stay. The beds were very comfortable as well. Only suggestion we had was it would be nice to have more light around the pool and outdoor area for when walking from pool to our rooms. Overall, great stay and very convenient to local shops, food and winery.

The bed was lovely and comfortable. The bathroom had a glass ceiling above the bathtub. The bathroom would be nicer if it had a heater as it was cold the weekend we stayed there. The pool and spa outside could of been cleaned as it was full of leaves and debris making it not loplace andok too attractive. Overall great place in an excellent position.

I’d hardly describe the room as being “superior”. It was pretty basic/standard to be honest. Disappointing to discover the spa was out of action. I was particularly looking forward to using it during my stay. Would have been nice to know this upon booking. A nice place to stay but at $240 a night it wasn’t worth anywhere near that price.

Excellent location to discover Hunter Valley. Spacious rooms, very clean and plenty of parking space. Excellent facilities including excess to a good gym. Particularly enjoyed the pool and hot tub.

Our rooms bathroom had a chipboard swelling around the vanity and water was extremely slow to go down the drain,room was clean but the stairwells up to the rooms had not seen a good clean for quite awhile or a good sweep.The staff were really great the food excellent but the pool area could have had maintenance and a good clean aroun the tiles

Great location within walking distance to the village and gardens. Friendly staff. Big, clean room and a little patio. Paid for extras silk rose petals, bottle of wine and cheese platter on arrival just beautiful. Ordered a picnic lunch, came with a picnic blanket as well, so filling! Comfortable bed and parking right out the front of the ground floor room, a bonus. Dined at the restaurant beautiful meal, I had the duck, husband the barramundi, only had the main meal and a drink and we were full. Buffet breakfast has a great selection. Will definitely be staying here again.

Rooms are very outdated (well ours was) the grounds in general pretty untidy / lots of cobwebs around and just a general untidy feel. We were a nice easy walk to the gardens though which is what we wanted. Restaurant quite expensive for the pretty basic accommodation.

Got to our first room and the wall was covered in bugs, but luckily there is complementary bug spray with the room, which was no help. The aircon was also not working. We moved to another room, which had a large huntsman on the door, which understandably cannot be controlled, however when entering the room the walls were covered with mosquitoes and bugs and we were greeted with a spider in the bed. Really disappointed and ended up leaving for another hotel.

I would rate the property as a 3.5 star. Our accommodation at the property seemed to be very tired. We had mould in the shower and paint off in various locations. Very old style and certainly not value for money at $329 per night. Disappointing to say the least. We certainly would not be in a rush to stay there again.

Understaffed, The food was below par both diner and breakfast. Mg wife and I wanted to return our rooms and perhaps take a bath before bed only to find that the bath was not clean and had hair in it from previous guest extremely unsanitary.

I would not recommend Mercure resort. It felt more like a motel. Our bathroom had dead insects around the sink and on our towels!!

We love going to the Mercure Hunter Valley. The room is very spacious, two queen sized beds, the rain shower is fabulous, the courtyard is lovely and private and parking right outside the room is ideal.

Stayed for 4 days after saving up for a much needed work break. First day room never got cleaned so no dry towels. Went to reception and asked that evening twice and the next morning but never supplied dry towels for a shower. The next day they cleaned room and then took a whole bag of groceries worth over $50. Asked at reception said would check and call me. Never did. 3 more times of asking and denied taking. No apologies, no offer of compensation. I finally asked for a free breakfast at least that was finally agreed to. Then at breakfast on last day tried to charge me for it. The manager's attitude was quite dismissive and never once offered any appologies.

The reception staff on arrival were less than helpful. We were assigned upstairs rooms (no lifts!) which was no good for one lady. To reach the pool was very inconvenient General cleanliness was lacking. Cudos to Hayley -reception - on our last night. Cleaners were knocking on the door at 9.30 when checkout was 10. Not very professional. Will not be returning!

The Hunter Valley Mercure is a nice hotel. The rooms are clean and beds are comfy. The hotel has a nice pool and hot tub. The service on the other hand is less than desirable. Our room was not made over a 2 day stay and the only thing reception said was "there was a lot of check-out this morning, and it must has been missed" They did offer to do it now but didn't really insist when I said it'll be fine. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and the quality was good enough, but once again the service was quite poor. The dining room was freezing due to poor A/C management (I guess) and when asked if we could eat outside the waitstaff didn't object but we had to ask for cutlery (as these were already set on all tables but not outside) and they didn't come to clean the dirty outside table fully aware of the table cleanliness (or lack of I should say) having brought the said cutlery. We can recommend the place but hopefully we get more professional staff during your stay.

The Hunter Valley Mercure is a nice hotel. The rooms are clean and beds are comfy. The hotel has a nice pool and hot tub. The service on the other hand is less than desirable. Our room was not made over a 2 day stay and the only thing reception said was "there was a lot of check-out this morning, and it must has been missed" They did offer to do it now but didn't really insist when I said it'll be fine. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and the quality was good enough, but once again the service was quite poor. The place was nice but I had to check out and return home after just one night as my mother was rushed to hospital and is now in Woy Woy Rehabilitation Centre... I know you have rules regarding refunds and I didn't ask for a refund but the lady at desk made it clear I wasn't getting one. I was disappointed they couldn't at least have given a days refund or something. On that basis, I'll never go there again nor recommend it. Regards Nigel Davis 0433665501

We liked our stayed at hotel. The hotel is situated in Hunter Valley Gardens with lot of wineries at a close by distance. Christmas lights spectacular is at walking distance and enjoyed the walk at night. Overall experience was good.

Paid for extras silk rose petals, bottle of wine and cheese platter on arrival just beautiful. Ordered a picnic lunch, came with a picnic blanket as well, so filling! Comfortable bed and parking right out the front of the ground floor room, a bonus. Dined at the restaurant beautiful meal, I had the duck, husband the barramundi, only had the main meal and a drink and we were full. Buffet breakfast has a great selection. Will definitely be staying here again.

This is our 3rd visit to the Mercure Resort and we will be back again. Ideally located in the middle of the Hunter Valley and next door to the Gardens and Village, this is convenient to almost anywhere you'd like to go. Comfortable rooms with ample space give a relaxed night and easy days.

Overall a great experience. In line with the beauty of the Hunter Valley. It would be great if the menu at the restaurant would be more flexible. For those who do not necessarily want 2 courses.

Well located for our needs. The staff were friendly especially Geoff the young barman, waiter and everything in between. He was always smiling and went out of his way to accommodate us. The Resturant was lovely and food delicious. Some evening entertainment like a musician and the candles lit in the library would showcase this hotel. Will definitely return.

Comfortable, well-located hotel in Pokolbin, ideal for exploring wineries and the Gardens. Offers pool, spa, tennis court, and on-site dining. Rooms are pretty clean though we had a slight damp smell. The staff are friendly. Great value for a convenient Hunter Valley stay.

Understaffed, The food was below par both diner and breakfast. Mg wife and I wanted to return our rooms and perhaps take a bath before bed only to find that the bath was not clean and had hair in it from previous guest extremely unsanitary.

The restaurent would not pick up for my room service irder. i had to call the reception to place the order. just a minor thing. the other thing was that there was no in room information of surrounding options. i had to walk to reception to get a menu for room service dinner.

Nice common areas! Rooms need a bit of updating. Clean and tidy. Breakfast without fresh green and fruit, only melons. Restaurant good for gluten-free options. Silent area expected pool with noisy children as usual.

Room was clean and well maintained. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking was right outside our room Close to the Hunter valley gardens and Harrigans and a number of wineries. Pool area looked a great place to spend a Sunny afternoon. The main dining room was closed due to renovations and so dinner was in the breakfast room. The staffing was very poor in that the young lady attending to the dining room was also the bar tender. She was extremely busy and was doing her best to do both areas with a smile and grace. It is however unfair to expect someone to cover both those areas. The meals we had were very good, but to pay $48 for a chicken breast in a sauce was definitely on the steep side given the environment, staffing, and lack of finesse.

Great location. Close to many vineyards, restaurants. Great view on the lake. Easy parking. Friendly staff. We did not try their restaurant, spa or pool - something to do next time. Fast wi-fi. Quiet place. Very cozy lounge with a nice fireplace and friendly faces. We visited in June - Hunter Valley did not have many visitors, so we were lucky. Pool table was the only minor disappointment. It's great to have it, but the cues and balls require replacement and the table needs levelling. In overall - great place.

Parking super convenient, right infront of our room and very lovely staff! The spa bath in our room was my favourite, we also enjoyed the on site resturant and easy walk to the Hunter Valley shops and gardens next door. Would highly recommend
