We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property, overall it was a very positive experience with attentive, considerate staff and services. It is in a great area to travel to Windermere, Ambleside or really anywhere else in the Lake District. The only slight let down was the spa; you have to pay extra for spa access even after paying for a treatment. Additionally the details around access times & costs varied depending on which staff you spoke to.

Service is poor and staff don’t care. No coffee at breakfast machine broken but one in the lounge was working only yards away so made to pay. Don’t get fooled by facilities. You can only use them a specific times. 7.30-10 am and 5.30 8.30pm. Rip off

This was advertised as a resort and spa; however it seems that the two are not related. The pool and spa facilities were only available to the hotel customers early in the morning or in the evening at the cost of $85 per person per time...assuming g that it wasn't already booked. The advertising for this hotel and spa is very misleading and deceptive as the impression one gets is that everything is included. We checked out as soon as we discovered this was the case!

Low Wood Bay is a lovely hotel with amazing facilities. The room was spot on, restaurants top notch and spa facilities excellent. The only criticism I’d have is that even as a resident you need to pay extra to use the outdoor pool and hot tubs - that was a bit cheeky and also steep at £25 per person. It’s not a cheap hotel anyway, which is fine, and is reflected in the quality but not when you have to pay for extras like that.

Over all we had a very nice stay. The setting and service in particular were great. Avoid the rooms at the from though, there is quite a bit of road noise from the road. Also, hotel guests can only use the pool for a couple of hours first thing (7:30am) and then a slot at 5:30pm. Hotel guests are not permitted to use the outdoor infinity pool or hot tubs, these are for exclusive use of day spa guests…you can pay an extra £60 a head for a 3 hour pass. I found this a little disappointing given the room rate per night isn’t cheap. I must have missed the small print in this but it wasn’t exactly clear when booking. It means the pool is packed with hotel guests in those two designated slots and hence not too enjoyable.

This hotel is a large modern hotel that has recently had a major refurbishment. Clearly they are now trying to recover the cost of this investment. Our room was very small with just enough room to walk round the bed. The quality of the in the room furnishing was good and the view over the lake excellent. However there are several hidden charges. Despite paying over 350 GBP for one night we had to pay an addition 12 GBP for parking (this is free if you book direct). Also on the room description it states that you have complimentary access to the pool, you need to read the small print that this is for very limited hours and only for the indoor pool. If you want to use the main part of the spa that is extra and needs to be booked in advance. Breakfast was good despite the wait to get into the restaurant, even having booked a time at check in there was still a queue. Overall I would say this hotel is clearly over-priced, especially given that so much is at extra cost!

Best spa i have ever been to. Been to alot of spa's up the north of england but this one blows them all away, low wood offers a budget and more exclusive packages that suit your needs. All areas were clean to a high standard and the on site resturant and bar are a bonus. Breakfast was more than what most places offer.

Ideal picturesque setting looking over lake windermere. Food excellent both nights and excellent value. Good choice of wine. Walking around area and saw 2 deer, lots of baby rabbits. friendly helpful staff. Lovely building. pool jacuzzi perfect.

Stayed in the Winander Club, room 888 which was excellent. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we had our own reception area which was quick. Our room as on the top floor with only one other room. We had a really comfortable bed, bath in main room, good. Size bathroom with nice products and complimentary sweets. But by far the best selling point is the room balcony with amazing views of lake Windermere. Nothing better than sitting have a morning tea / coffee looking at the lake and fells in the cool morning air. Ultimately we can't fault this hotel and our going to look to make it out base to celebrate our wedding anniversary every year. Our only suggestion would be for there to be outside towels to dry off plastic balcony furniture and perhaps blankets so you can spend more time enjoying the outside room space as there are no heaters.

We originally booked for 2 nights but had to cut short the trip as my partner was bitten by bed bugs and left her with bites all over her ankles and back of her legs. The room was very dated and bathroom basic and unclean in general.when paying a good price for a room u expect good standards. A shame because the hotel grounds are beautiful and restaurants very stylish and view from room was impressive

We experienced first class service throughout our stay. The hotel was luxurious and well maintained. Every member of staff we came into contact with was both efficient and friendly. On this occasion we only stayed for one night on a B & B tariff. Our room in the main building was quiet, comfortable & well equipped and breakfast the next morning was faultless with plenty of hot and cold options. Can't wait to return.

Hotel facilities very good, room lovely with lake views. Unfortunately the room is not worth the price we paid, it wasnt until later that night just how noisy the room become. I appreciate that there is a road in front of hotel, but it doesn't help when the balcony doors are warped and very old windows. Worst night sleep ever, noise levels are ridiculous.

Hotel is really nice , very clean and good facilities . W restaurant was really good . Couple of bits of feedback would be to improve breakfast selection( English breakfast was good ) more really the yoghurts / bread selection. Staff really nice but maybe could do with some additional training on talking to clients but nothing too concerning , just needs to match hotels image of great service , would go back - yes !

This is by far the best hotel and spa we have stopped in, it was birthday and my my mum and dad’s diamond wedding anniversary so we treated them to 2 nights away the breakfast great the hotel was clean and the bedrooms were big but the pool and spa are unbelievable.

It was generally lovely, the second time we’ve stayed. Everything is to a nice standard. It’s also totally worth the stay because the spa is amazing. The most disappointing thing was the breakfast - I wouldn’t have paid for it if it wasn’t included. Everything about the breakfast was pretty average, I’d rather have gone into Ambleside or Keswick and had brunch elsewhere. The window in our room needed attention; it was suffering from damp around the casing. Also the lights in the room were on a bizarre system - it took us ages to get any lights on and off, especially annoying in the middle of the night when you’re going to the bathroom. As I said, it was generally lush. But you expect better with those disappointing features when you’ve paid that much for the stay.

For the money this hotel charges you expect the overall experience to be much better. Situated on a noisy road the windows were droughty and had back mould on the silicone, the bathroom tiles needed grouting and the room felt tired, parts of the hotel felt luxurious but this didn’t run through the whole hotel unfortunately. Our experience was underwhelming, the W restaurant served excellent food, but the staff lacked experience and had to ask the kitchen about ingredients twice during us being served. We won’t be returning to this hotel as I feel there are better establishments in the area which offer better luxury for the same sort of money.

We stayed here at the weekend for a sunset session which was fun. Staff are fab, always happy to have a little chat and always happy to help Room was stunning and we had a wonderful view. It’s expensive but it’s a lovely hotel & our third stay overall

We stayed in a room with a balcony view of the lake which had amazing views. The room was cosy and was great for the type of stay we planned. The rooms facing the lake are backed into a main road so at times can be a little loud with the traffic but other then that we couldn’t find any fault with the room, the dining experience and the spa. Staff were helpful and friendly and it is within a good distance to all the main places.

Hazel room was quite small. Otherwise, it was a very good hotel. Indoor pool, steam room and heat room were all complimentary within the booking which was excellent.

Stay was okay but disappointing. The overall hotel is very nice looking until you get to the rooms at the end of the hotel. The room was very noisy and you could hear the room next door having a normal conversation and any time someone walked near the room you could hear the floors creak. This was not helped by the staff that need to service the rooms had a room opposite ours that was in use a lot. For the price i would not recommend it.

Spa weekend was amazing and throughly enjoyed. However the night in the hotel was terrible. Room was loud from all directions. Banging and trolleys as well as people through the corridors. Also the room was too hot with no fan or aircon. However the window opened fully, this was directly onto a pathed walkway outside so again was noisy and not secure as anyone could have entered the room through an open window. If you get room 312 I would go and ask for a different one !

Spa weekend was amazing and throughly enjoyed. However the night in the hotel was terrible. Room was loud from all directions. Banging and trolleys as well as people through the corridors. Also the room was too hot with no fan or aircon. However the window opened fully, this was directly onto a pathed walkway outside so again was noisy and not secure as anyone could have entered the room through an open window. If you get room 312 I would go and ask for a different one !

This hotel is a large modern hotel that has recently had a major refurbishment. Clearly they are now trying to recover the cost of this investment. Our room was very small with just enough room to walk round the bed. The quality of the in the room furnishing was good and the view over the lake excellent. However there are several hidden charges. Despite paying over 350 GBP for one night we had to pay an addition 12 GBP for parking (this is free if you book direct). Also on the room description it states that you have complimentary access to the pool, you need to read the small print that this is for very limited hours and only for the indoor pool. If you want to use the main part of the spa that is extra and needs to be booked in advance. Breakfast was good despite the wait to get into the restaurant, even having booked a time at check in there was still a queue. Overall I would say this hotel is clearly over-priced, especially given that so much is at extra cost!

The hotel is gorgeous, with a lovely bar/ fire pit area to drink and unwind. The hotel was in a lovely location close to two towns with shops and food. We stayed in a hazel lake view room with balcony which gave a lovely view of the the lake. The only issue I had was we stayed on the ground floor and got hardly any sleep due to the creaking of the floor boards above and paperthin walls, waking up to slamming doors and people walking around their rooms above sounding as if they were in the room with you. Very noisy and not great for a good nights sleep.

Let me start by saying thank you to the whole team for making our recent stay so incredible. We were with you last week Wednesday - Friday. We were put in one of the upper level rooms with a partial view of the lake and it was a fantastic room. From our very first interaction with security at the gate, to checking in with David who was excellent, and all of our interactions whilst we were with you, we had a lovely time. We also booked Thermal journey and a treatment each which we had on the Thursday, the spa was equally as impressive. We also had the pleasure of meeting Puppy Holly (and Tim) which was one of my fiancés highlights. Special mention to Mel in the Winander bar who was lovely and we had several conversations with.

We experienced first class service throughout our stay. The hotel was luxurious and well maintained. Every member of staff we came into contact with was both efficient and friendly. On this occasion we only stayed for one night on a B & B tariff. Our room in the main building was quiet, comfortable & well equipped and breakfast the next morning was faultless with plenty of hot and cold options. Can't wait to return.

It was a wonderful stay, the only thing I can pick at, which is so minuscule is the fact there is such limited times on the spa use. Even then, I’m being picky. Everything else, I can’t fault, one particular thing I have to mention as a positive is the staff are exceptional. They went out of their way, nothing was too much trouble and they were always available to help or let you know anything you had questions about. Overall, we are planning out another trip to the lakes and this is a possible choice

Nice location and rooms but quite chaotic service with bags going to the wrong room, then going missing on a second occaision. Computer systems seem dated, with lots of booking issues and also bizarre how you have to paye extra to use the outdoor spa area (by far the best bit)

Disappointing stay with robes and slippers missing from the room and when speaking to the reception staff I was hung up on! I then went down stairs to reception to be told the phone hasn’t rang and I’ve not spoke to anyone. Couldn’t even get booked into the spa. Rooms were comfortable and the restaurant had great food, shame about the reception staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property, overall it was a very positive experience with attentive, considerate staff and services. It is in a great area to travel to Windermere, Ambleside or really anywhere else in the Lake District. The only slight let down was the spa; you have to pay extra for spa access even after paying for a treatment. Additionally the details around access times & costs varied depending on which staff you spoke to.

Location was excellent but crossing the road can be a bit hazardous. Parking was easy and safe but a little pricey at £12 per night. Staff were wonderful, welcoming and helpful. Food in the restaurants was excellent. Would definitely stay here again ☺️

Hotel facilities very good, room lovely with lake views. Unfortunately the room is not worth the price we paid, it wasnt until later that night just how noisy the room become. I appreciate that there is a road in front of hotel, but it doesn't help when the balcony doors are warped and very old windows. Worst night sleep ever, noise levels are ridiculous.

This hotel is stunning!! The spa is gorgeous, the staff are attentive and friendly. We had a beautiful retreat here and enjoyed the beauty and romance of the lake views from our balcony. Drinks and food was delicious. Restaurants are top notch!! Spa products felt lovely. We will be back!!

A good hotel with aspirations it doesn't quite meet. For £200 a night, Quality and luxury should be built in, but somehow they are not. I stayed three nights and ate in both restaurants. One had a steak at £32 which at lunch, included 2 sides, but at dinner was just the steak. Sides extra at £5 each. Good, but not excellent steak, stone cold mushroom and a sprinkling of fries was not really worth the money. This place is £200 a night, then it tries to charge £12 a night for parking. Lots of room to improve so that the product justifies the price

Hotel is really nice , very clean and good facilities . W restaurant was really good . Couple of bits of feedback would be to improve breakfast selection( English breakfast was good ) more really the yoghurts / bread selection. Staff really nice but maybe could do with some additional training on talking to clients but nothing too concerning , just needs to match hotels image of great service , would go back - yes !

It was generally lovely, the second time we’ve stayed. Everything is to a nice standard. It’s also totally worth the stay because the spa is amazing. The most disappointing thing was the breakfast - I wouldn’t have paid for it if it wasn’t included. We stayed at the Low Wood to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The Low Wood is a special place to us as this is where we got married so we were excited to return to celebrate our anniversary. I communicated with the team in advance as we had hoped to stay in the same room but this wasn’t possible so we opted for a Willow double instead. The prices are high even for the most basic rooms but we felt it was worth it given the occasion. We booked the thermal spa for the afternoon of the Friday which was fabulous. Highly recommend paying the £70 per person for the thermal journey. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. The facilities are amazing and that view from the heated infinity pool with a chilled cocktail was blissful. The facilities are really high standard and we loved the mask bar and inclusion of complimentary snacks and drinks. On check in we were disappointed that no note had been made of our special celebration and staff were unaware we had married at the Low Wood. A simple note on the system to inform staff would have improved the check in experience. Also no acknowledgement in the room - not even a little card to wish us a happy anniversary. For a hotel of this calibre it feels like a personal touch would enhance the stay. There is a £12 per day parking charge if you book through a 3rd party. Given the location and already high prices this was unexpected and unnecessary. We had dinner and breakfast in the W restaurant which was delicious.

Lovely hotel with marina views. Rooms well equipped and spacious. Range of toiletries in the bathroom. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere. However, for the cost of the hotel, I was disappointed with the following: As a 'dog-friendly' hotel, we could not eat in the main restaurants with our furbaby. We had to settle for a limited menu in the bar area. The meals were lukewarm when they were served, and we had to send 2 of the 3 meals back and wait for them to be recooked. The replacements were piping hot. The same restaurant issue arose the next morning regarding dogs; however, we were able to go into the restaurant and bring the food through to the bar area, which had been set up for others doing the same. The produce was high quality but had obviously been out for a while, so eggs, sausages and bacon were quite 'dry/overcooked'. Very disappointing.

When trying to add the spa to the booking, we were told it was fully booked!! The whole point of a spa resort is to be able to have a spa and relaxing day, if it was made more clear, we would have just booked a standard B&B which would have been a fraction of the cost! We did mention this to staff, but they weren't interested and just got fobbed off. Not welcoming at all, and not helpful or interested.. not be staying here again for sure!

Hotel is very nice but website and booking very misleading.. photos and name suggests spa facilities available for all but hotel guests do not get use of the spa and is actually an addition (which we were totally unaware of). The room was clean as always, stayed here a few times now. This time in the main hotel as we had our dog with us so had a pet friendly room and it was lovely. My only issues around the hotel are the lack of air con in the room and in the W restaurant. I realise this current weather isn’t the norm, but a fan isn’t the greatest. The staff are always fab, and otherwise it was a nice stay. Room was spacious which helped when having our pet Will possibly stay again in future

Arrived and there was a lovely man who greeted us in our car. Pointed us in the right direction. Check in was quick & easy & staff lovely & welcoming. Room was lovely. Bigger than we expected. Bed was so comfy! Breakfast was delicious. All fresh & hot & lots of choice! Unfortunately we were unable to get in either of the restaurants as they were fully booked. Booking online before you go is a must! Highly recommend & would definitely book again!
