This was an overnight stay while visiting family. Hotel in the town centre over looking a lovely green and by the church. Parking in car pub or on road outside. Room was clean, warm and cosy. Would stay again.

A recently renovated room i think ( room 3) New bathroom- and powerful hot shower . Love the unusual wall paper! Room extremely clean and had all expected extras ( tea , coffee , biscuits ) No bath. (( if that’s your preference) Also located up stairs so some people may find that difficult. Easy access from courtyard and easy parking onsite. Fabulous breakfast. From bacon and sausage to avocado and sourdough. Great coffee and service prompt and friendly.

The location was great and it was nice to have parking. The rooms were okay. Decent sized and comfortable but mold in the window areas. The blind in the bathroom was moldy and did not cover the window properly. The Fleece is an old building so you will get flaws and quirks. We had two rooms and one room had no issues with hot water, but our room did. Every evening the water was tepid and we had to request that the heater got boosted. Fortunately it did not take long to get hot water. Our room overlooked the outside area of the pub and was very noisy one evening with drunken punters. The restaurant is good and there breakfast was excellent.

Friendly staff and lovely food.. maybe one of the best steaks ever tasted. Room was large and well equipped. Over looked the beer garden but no noise after 10 so that was fine. Small car park to the rear but ample for the guests. Hoping to stay here again.

The Fleece is a fabulous place to stay, a real country feel type pub with great rooms attached at good value prices. The welcome and check in was fabulous although the waitress at breakfast was a little off and not very pleasant so a little uncomfortable however the breakfast itself was delicious with a great menu to choose from. The room had its own entrance so didn’t give to use the pub entrance and has all the amenities you could need. It was very clean, maid service daily if required tea coffee biscuits replenished daily! Location was perfect couple of minutes walk to the centre of Witney where shops snd cafes were plentiful! The added bonus of this hotel is the free residents car park! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Witney area.

Good location. Stairwell to rooms had loose handrail but everything else was good. Good entertainment in room. Available food was fine but got brioche bun when ordered a bap.

We stayed 9 different places in U.K. This was the smallest and cheapest room we stayed, but it turned out to be one of our favorite. Interior is well decorated and clean. Inn is located in park with church. This is hidden gem!

This was a convenient place for us as we were heading to a wedding nearby. The room was clean, and the en-suite surprising large. However there were spots on the wall / that looked like something spilled this was a shame as the room has a lovely decoration - but the marks were noticeable. However everything else was excellent - staff/ food we had breakfast and lunch while there. There are also lots of places to eat close by!

The rooms need an update, the focal point of our room was a large mirror on the main wall, it belonged on the tip, it was battered & scratched. The paintwork needs repainting & the room was very dusty. The heating was on, which made it very uncomfortable, especially as we couldn’t open the window. The toilet flush kept sticking on & we had to keep taking off the cistern lid & lifting the float. Parking was free for guests, but this wasn’t monitored & everyone was using the parking, this could be easily fixed by giving guests a sheet of paper with their room number on & displaying it in their windscreen. The shower was hot & powerful. The tea & coffee facilities in the room were good. The staff were very attentive & friendly. The bar closed early on the Sunday evening, even though it was a bank holiday weekend, without any prior warning.

Wonderful warm welcome upon arrival. Fabulous staff. Food was excellent. Bar/restaurant area is beautiful. Our room was spacious, clean, modern with a very comfortable large bed. We’ll definitely stay again.

For an older property, the rooms were clean and modern and had hairdryers/irons and lovely bathing products. For the same price as a holiday inn, this was a fantastic choice. Its situated on the green, views of the wonderful church, Service and food were great, can’t fault it

Great place to stay, easy walking distance into the town. Excellent food and staff very friendly and helpful. Room exceptionally clean. Second time I’ve stayed at The Fleece and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

The food was good. The room was quiet and clean, but there were some items in disepair. The toilet paper holder was falling off the wall. The cabinet in the bathroom was in need of replacement due to having gotten wet, the doors were misshaped.

We really enjoyed our stay here at The Fleece. Excellent room, clean and tidy. Able to check-in to room early was another bonus. However only one thing would like to mention is breakfast. £4 For 2 piecies of toast was rather an excessive amount.

I was very impressed. A lovely room in a great location. Well appointed and equipped and immaculately clean. Friendly staff. Good food with an excellent breakfast offer. Only downside is that I stayed during a heatwave and would have appreciated either air-conditioning or a fan in the room.

Great place to visit, staff excellent and very helpful. Bits of the room looked tired and the noise from the outside area below the room was loud until late. We did have dinner and the food was excellent.

Nice location, food in the restaurant was great, rooms were quirky and vintage style but noise from outside started at 5am both mornings - suspect it was so loud due to the single pane windows. Would recommend asking for a room near the back of the hotel.

Booked a room with a king size bed in reality it was 2 single beds pushed together also a huge extract fan outside my window started running from 07.00 in the morning unable to sleep with the noise and the room was a bit dated

Shabby chic sums up our experience. All looking clean but a little tired with things not working. Rm8 didnt have a lockable lock. Had the keys but the only security was the CClockwise turn of the knob, then the cistern handle floated and so on. Worst experience was the evening meal. Ok, BankHol Sunday last few services so everything I fancied was soldout. The only thing left that I wanted to eat was the Roast Beef. The plate looked ok but everything on it apart from the overcooked beef was soggy, been far too long under the warming lights. Surely cooking a fresh yorkshire pub should have been possible, but no, that is what they chose to serve. Just one bright spot the breakfast selection was good, but the service! Long gaps, still waiting to see what its cost me, no receipt offered.

A couple of friends and I regularly go out in Witney and this involves two of us staying overnight somewhere. We’ve been ‘regulars’ at the Fleece for years so we must like it. The rooms are really lovely and good value for money at £115 for B+B. Breakfast is really good too. Only thing that could have been better was the overall atmosphere. Witney was really quiet the other night (I’m guessing the cost of living in a biting - so not the Fleece’s fault) but the bar area was cold. I did ask them to put the heating in but they refused.

The restaurant is good and there breakfast was excellent.

The hotel is very centrally located. A comfortable room and the staff were great. I'd have expected a bigger breakfast though for the additional amount they charged. They could also do with a handle on the inside of the outer door to the accommodation as the door was stiff and you only had a small lock to pull on.

For an older property, the rooms were clean and modern and had hairdryers/irons and lovely bathing products. For the same price as a holiday inn, this was a fantastic choice. Its situated on the green, views of the wonderful church, Service and food were great, can’t fault it

Great place to stay, easy walking distance into the town. Excellent food and staff very friendly and helpful. Room exceptionally clean. Second time I’ve stayed at The Fleece and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Friendly staff and lovely food.. maybe one of the best steaks ever tasted. Room was large and well equipped. Over looked the beer garden but no noise after 10 so that was fine. Small car park to the rear but ample for the guests. Hoping to stay here again.

The property has a cottage feel. The dinner menu is limited and was not a high standard. The shower drain in the room was broken and there was a loud extractor fan right outside the window which was noisy. The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you.

Shabby chic sums up our experience. All looking clean but a little tired with things not working. Rm8 didnt have a lockable lock. Had the keys but the only security was the CClockwise turn of the knob, then the cistern handle floated and so on. Worst experience was the evening meal. Ok, BankHol Sunday last few services so everything I fancied was soldout. The only thing left that I wanted to eat was the Roast Beef. The plate looked ok but everything on it apart from the overcooked beef was soggy, been far too long under the warming lights. Surely cooking a fresh yorkshire pub should have been possible, but no, that is what they chose to serve. Just one bright spot the breakfast selection was good, but the service! Long gaps, still waiting to see what its cost me, no receipt offered.

I was very impressed. A lovely room in a great location. Well appointed and equipped and immaculately clean. Friendly staff. Good food with an excellent breakfast offer. Only downside is that I stayed during a heatwave and would have appreciated either air-conditioning or a fan in the room.

The Fleece is a fabulous place to stay, a real country feel type pub with great rooms attached at good value prices. The welcome and check in was fabulous although the waitress at breakfast was a little off and not very pleasant so a little uncomfortable however the breakfast itself was delicious with a great menu to choose from. The room had its own entrance so didn’t give to use the pub entrance and has all the amenities you could need. It was very clean, maid service daily if required tea coffee biscuits replenished daily! Location was perfect couple of minutes walk to the centre of Witney where shops snd cafes were plentiful! The added bonus of this hotel is the free residents car park! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Witney area.

The Fleece is in a great position, right on the Church Green. Perfect for where we needed to be. Our room (room 2) was upstairs in building across from the back of the pub. Large room with a very comfy bed and pillows. Uncomfortably hot as we stayed during a very hot week. Fan provided but only pushed warm air around the room and the window was very small so not much air coming in. Bedroom and bathroom were a bit tired. Window blind hanging off and toilet seat barely attached but we did inform the duty staff member when we left as it wasn't the end of the world while we were staying. Nice staff and good evening meal. Didn't have breakfast but enjoyed sitting outside the front of the pub with cold drinks. Despite a few downsides we would definitely consider staying again

Our room was spotless with everything you needed in it. The staff very helpful and friendly. We had a Sunday roast and then breakfast the following morning which was very nice. Will definitely return.

Not happy. Was 38 degrees heatwave in the UK and called to check if they had air conditioning. They say no. Only fans . I checked if I could cancel and not helpful at all . The fact that was the worse day of the year and not willing to compromise made me think about going back

arrived early and staff were busy because it was lunchtime. it is a busy pub so to be expected, however they were very helpful and checked our room was ready which it was so they let us in before the usual check in time. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable, but noisy with the windows open as it is a pub!. overall we had a very pleasant stay
