A lot of stairs. Breakfast was ok but way overpriced and nothing special. Restaurant was ok, menu rather small, with less variety. Friendliness of the staff at reception was acceptable. However the spa was closed during our stay, which is odd as „spa“ is within the hotel name. There is no beach directly accessible from the hotel. Diving Center was good, professional guides, very nice rental equipment, they had their own boat directly at the marina for short trips! Cocktails at the pool bar were pretty good!

We stayed here for 4 nights and chose Jamahkiri because I wanted to get my advanced diving certification. The on-site dive center here was great and the instructors and equipment are top notch. The dive center and the hotel are run by separate management. I have a mixed review of this hotel because of the following: This is not a 5-star hotel by any standard. It is a 4-star at best. To be truly 5-star, you have to have much better amenities, service, and restaurant which Jamahkiri does not. We were happy with our room because we got an upgrade to a room with private pool (we had booked a deluxe suite). The room was brand new but there was construction going on around it so we were given free breakfast during our stay, which was reasonable considering construction noise and debris. Though the room was lovely, the amenities could use an upgrade. The refilled shampoo, conditioner and bath soap are very cheap quality, not what one would expect for a 5-star hotel. This room came with a kitchen which was great but the dishes, cutlery were bought in IKEA. Appliances also cheap and new but will wear out quickly over time. There is no telephone so you have to go to reception or text on WhatsApp. When ordering room service, you have to use their online ordering form on your phone. It took 20 minutes for them to get the order and another 40 minutes for the food. Breakfast mediocre. Lastly, the stairs. Expect to walk up and down a lot. There is no beach. For that stay elsewhere.

I absolutely loved this resort! It has a ton of stairs - so if stairs are hard for you - not your place. We actually loved the stairs as a place to get exercise! The views are to die for and loved the staff! The food at the restaurant was delicious! We at all our meals at the resort! My daughter has a peanut allergy and the restaurant staff was sooo accommodating and helpful to ensure she was safe! They were absolutely amazing! We snorkeled, went on the kayaks and loved the pool. What a great place with great people! I LOVED this place!

We stayed here in April with our two teenage daughters. We loved our accommodation which was the Two bedroom Pool Villa. Modern and clean with great views over the ocean. The staff here were very friendly. As many people have mentioned there are a lot of steps here (we counted 147 from our villa to the restaurant), but we knew about this before we went and so were prepared, plus it was great exercise for us. If you have any issues with steps this may not be the hotel for you. The restaurant itself was a bit limited on the food options, and the breakfast we didn’t feel was good value for money. Due to the location of the hotel getting to other restaurants is not that achievable if you don’t have transport. The hotel itself offers free shuttles to Mae Head Pier at certain times of day which we utilised. We also did a Dive whilst here and found the Dive crew great to deal with.

The view to Shark Bay was outstanding from our suite. There are 276 steps from the sea to Reception at the top. A great workout everyday. The pool area is beautiful - a small gym served me well. The property is high on a hill top w a steep walk down (or up) to the main road or villages - the property is a ways from the main villages so you’ll need taxi or hotel transport w various drop and pick-up times - the main dining room/restaurant was lovely - great food and service when we choose to dine

I had high hopes for this property, but it is far from everything on the island, it is very hilly with a lot of stairs and a person frequently injuring herself, it wasn't the best. The floors in the room are very slippery and I almost fell a few times. The water from the taps was also brown, so I didn't feel safe brushing my teeth with it or even taking a shower. Luckily I was only there for a night. I would consider another property on Koh Tao before coming back to this one.

Amazing location with stunning views and great ocean access for swimming with turtles, reef sharks and colourful fish. The villa was clean and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and housekeeping was excellent. Massage service was great and affordable. We’re in our 50s with knee problems and had no issues with the steps—don’t be put off by reviews! The food was okay, but there are lots of nearby restaurants if you’re looking for more options. Cable TV required a Thai number and payment, which was a small letdown. Still, we had a wonderful time and would love to return. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the hotel for several days. We paid for an additional night since we were taking the overnight ferry, and they moved us to a different room where the shower didn’t work nor the AC, so that was highly disappointing. I would not stay there again.

Les plus : l’hôtel est incroyablement beau, la vue du pavillon et de la piscine est magnifique. Le petit déjeuner est de qualité, et peu cher si on prend « à la carte ». The free shuttle didn’t have enough space for everyone that arrived at the pier even if we confirmed by email with the hotel prior to arrival. Check in is a mess and they take you around in big groups where you can’t hear what is said. Rooms are getting old and not very well maintained ( we had a villa in the newer section ) In the villa, there is no AC in the living room part and no curtains so it gets quite warm when sunny. The staff is sitting in the stairs watching videos on speaker phones. This is far from a 5stars, a good 3, at best.

This was our 3rd stay at this hotel and whilst we had a fantastic time, the hotel and accommodation is getting a little tired and could do with a refresh. The staff at this hotel compared to all of our other stays in Thailand appeared a little rude at times and were not as welcoming.

The staff here were very friendly. As many people have mentioned there are a lot of steps here (we counted 147 from our villa to the restaurant), but we knew about this before we went and so were prepared, plus it was great exercise for us. If you have any issues with steps this may not be the hotel for you. The restaurant itself was a bit limited on the food options, and the breakfast we didn’t feel was good value for money. Due to the location of the hotel getting to other restaurants is not that achievable if you don’t have transport. The hotel itself offers free shuttles to Mae Head Pier at certain times of day which we utilised. We also did a Dive whilst here and found the Dive crew great to deal with.

L’hôtel est magnifique, sportif (beaucoup beaucoup beaucoup de marche), les chambres et le personnel sont très biens mais je ne peux hélas que retenir les déboires que nous avons eu avec le loueur de scooter de l’hôtel. Nous avions réservé 3 nuits pour passer 2 jours pleins afin de réellement se détendre et profiter… et avons eu la moitié de ce temps à devoir gérer un problème avec le loueur de scooter recommandé par l’hôtel. Surtout ne louez pas d’engin avec eux. Pour votre sécurité, Ne passez pas par l’hôtel. Le matériel loué est en très mauvais état. Sur 3 scooters 2 sont tombés en panne, le premier s’est arrêté net et le second les freins ont lâché en pleine descente… mon fils a failli y rester… le loueur a refusé de venir nous chercher à l’autre bout de l’île après 2h de discussion…nous avons dû rendre les scooters un jour plus tôt et le loueur a refusé de rembourser le 2ème jour. L’hôtel ne nous a pas aidé alors que c’était l’hôtel qui les avait appelé… bref cet événement a vraiment pourri notre séjour… l’hôtel aurait dû nous aider

This is probably the best hotel on Koh Tao. The staff are amazing. There’s a number of steps as the rooms are in the cliff, but exercise on holiday is fun. This is a must stay place, peace, tranquility and lovely caring staff.

The overall stay was brilliant. Wonderful property and the view from our room was beautiful. The staff were wonderful people, very friendly, although were not as attentive as some of the staff in the other hotels, for example they forgot our breakfast order one morning so we just sat there for ages. A few minor things to work on, but overall would recommend, especially to anyone looking to learn to dive.

I loved our stay at Jamahkiri! It was so restful and peaceful after two weeks of busy tourism. The staff is unbelievably kind and generous. We used the pool, diving club, and restaurants. Couldn't have asked for a better scenario!

Fab place and yes there all lots of steps but we knew that before we booked - and it was fine . The 2 bed villa with private pool was amazing ! Staff were so lovely and couldn’t do enough for us .

This property is GORGEOUS and the location stunning and convenient for snorkeling, diving and views. I would say it’s a “must do” destination! The only caveat that I would have is that the rooms are connected by steep stairs and pathways so those with mobility issues would not be happy here unfortunately.

The sea view is beautiful BUT everywhere you go there are ten's to hundreds of steps. To go from it room to the lobby you have around 200 steps and you get all sweaty and angry. The hotel location is far on the other side of the island.

Un magnifique resort avec une vue incroyable et de belles chambres (pavillon) panoramiques, cet hôtel gagnerait en prestige et qualité si il était réservé seulement pour adulte (presence d’enfants à la piscine avec bouée et matelas gonflable) ! Dommage que le petit déjeuner ne soit pas de meilleure qualité et plus copieux !

Lovely hotel. Beautiful surroundings. We had the 2 bed royal suite which was wonderful, specious, and had stunning views. Direct access to the sea where we saw sharks and turtles. Great cocktails by the pool.
