The service when we arrived was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were close to the elevator and the room was extremely quiet. The breakfast (included with the room) was amazing and the service was fantastic. The Christmas decorations were very well presented and time appropriate. Very well preserved woodwork and authentic decor. Ample parking and a short walk to the shops.

It was a charming place but too expensive for the amenities offered. The food was good but expensive. The free breakfast was fair - no hot food at all, just fruit, pastries and yogurt. A microwave or refrigerator was not in the room. Parking was terrible over the weekend. There were no places designated for people staying at the hotel. I will not stay there again.

Love Granville Inn! This last trip though was a little meh - went on NYE and the restaurant and bar closed super early - like 7pm. And not the normal hot breakfast which was a total bummer. I get it’s NYE but celebrate it rather than having a skeleton crew staff and amenities. Or at least communicate this at booking so guests know what to expect.

The hotel is elegantly beautiful from the hardwood throughout, the extravagant dining room, and the cozy lounging areas. I love the castle-like exterior, too. The only issue we had was the noise level before 10 PM. There was a wedding on site with the reception in the party room one floor below ours. The music carried loudly into our space. There was absolutely NO SLEEPING until they were done. Fortunately, the event ended at 10 PM. I would recommend checking with the hotel if an event is scheduled before booking this hotel. The charming town of Granville had a lot to offer from breweries, an adorable cidery with cozy outdoor garden seating, artsy stores, and restaurants scattered throughout...all within walking distance of this hotel. This is a must-visit city! Oh, and there's a quaint winery just outside of town.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was so welcoming and attentive willing to help with any recommendations or anything else we need during our stay. We had dinner at the Oak room and our waiter. Daniel went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, striking that personable and memorable conversations while going us five star service and the food was amazing as well. The beds were super comfortable to the point we didn’t wanna get out of bed, honestly one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. There’s an older property with his little quirk, but will definitely go back and highly recommend!!!

Historic inn with beautiful carved woodwork and beautifully decorated for Christmas with several trees and pine swags on the stairs. Extremely clean in all public areas as well as my room. Room was great, comfy soft mattress and luxurious bedding. Unfortunately the mattress is on a platform, and I took some bruises on my legs as souvenirs from the edges and corner. Wonderful step-in shower, good hot water and pressure. The inn is conveniently located a block from the charming downtown shops and restaurants, all very walkable. I was disappointed in the size of the ‘lobby’. I was hoping to relax by the fireplace but it’s very small and directly across from the checkin desk, a literal desk and chair, so I would be awkward. The second floor did have a small sitting room and free Kuerig coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Free, safe parking lot next to the inn. Breakfast, (anything from the menu, plus juice, coffee), is included. The bananas Foster French toast and bacon were delicious. I did not have a good dinner at the inn, though, and the waitress and Maitre d’ that evening, or the desk clerk the next day seemed to care. Several things went wrong, plus the waitress told me there would be a delay as my entree was burned and she refused to serve, and they were remaking it. But it was also burned. I would love to return.

Night Auditor was not my favorite. I asked to extend my stay an extra day & he said the entire hotel was booked. I spoke to Jay the next morning & he said there was definitely a room available. Bar hours are kinda funky & breakfast is very underwhelming. Prime rib sandwich is to die for. Rooms are tiny & the drawers on the nightstand & chests are not easy to move. The property is insanely beautiful & there deer on the front lawn at night. Nice overall.

Mold all over the windows. They just paint over it. Showers are so small you can’t move in them. Nothing in the room. No computer desk, no fridge, no microwave. Loud AC. Very loud when it kicks on. Very expensive and way overrated. This is for old people I guess. I will never stay here again. Floors creak, mold everywhere they just paint over it. Very small tv, very small. Not for me. I cancelled my next night and stayed at a Hilton Hotel. One of the best hotels I have ever been to I am a member now.

Cracked panes of windows with black mold. Creaky loud floors. Elevator so cold. Breakfast included was inadequate. Has to request stale pasties be replaced. No milk for cereal only cream for coffee.

Boutique, historic hotel. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The continental breakfast was sufficient with excellent staff. Located in the quaint historic Granville. Everything was within walking distance.

Impeccable room, outstanding staff, charming! Area of opportunity? The food quality in the restaurant has taken a steep decline, and our bartender knew virtually nothing about mixing drinks, proper service, etc.

The property was appealing from the road. The entrance seriously needs cleaning and sprucing up. The room was nice, but the beds were like marshmallows and not in a good way. Dinner at the hotel was good - lamb shank and scallops - both dishes were good and the service was excellent! The shower had good water temp and pressure, but for some reason the sink water would not get hot?!? No coffee option in the room, but one on the floor lobby. The continental breakfast was good quality, staff was excellent, but not a lot of food or options, didn’t drink the coffee but opted to go to Village Coffee Company which was great! I would consider this hotel way overpriced at $274 a night, but it was a destination we wanted to visit and was one of a few hotel options.

Third time to stay at Granville. Love the charm. Great staff. Our room was OK, BUT: Air conditioner/heater was very loud. Toilet seat broke. No soap in shower dispenser.

The Granville Inn is a beautiful, 100 yeat old historical inn and a worderful place to visit. The service was great and the room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was that we visited on a very cold weekend in December and having old single pane windows the room was cold. However, despite the cold room we would still recommend a visit to the historic Granville Inn.

Would love to give it a 5 star rating ... but ... building and staff are second to none ... but the room ... I've had better at a Holiday Inn ... no coffee pot in the room, no desk or table, so all my work on the computer had to be done while laying in bed and then there's the shower (no bath tub) Shower stall was about 3 feet square! Every time I turned around I knocked the shower door open. Very uncomfortable.
Would love to give it a 5 star rating ... but ... building and staff are second to none ... but the room ... I've had better at a Holiday Inn ... no coffee pot in the room, no desk or table, so all my work on the computer had to be done while laying in bed and then there's the shower (no bath tub) Shower stall was about 3 feet square! Every time I turned around I knocked the shower door open. Very uncomfortable.

The service when we arrived was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were close to the elevator and the room was extremely quiet. The breakfast (included with the room) was amazing and the service was fantastic. The Christmas decorations were very well presented and time appropriate. Very well preserved woodwork and authentic decor. Ample parking and a short walk to the shops.

When I first checked in the room I was given had a loud A/C unit but the lady at reception was amazing about it and she put me into a quieter room. Customer service here is great and I highly recommend this amazing inn.

The location is great. Breakfast is included and delicious, but one of the ladies is so cranky and doesn’t seem having a good time in the morning. She brought me pancakes and asked me to use someone else’s butter at the table, however she wasn’t done with her meal, same as creamer for my coffee.

The entire staff was superb. All were attentive to guests and were sincerely interested in if I needed anything during my 4 day stay. The Granville Inn is conveniently located for Denison activities and local shopping with merchants who are attentive to the needs of their clients as well. I highly recommend this establishment and will certainly stay there on my next visit to Granville, OH.

I like the Granville Inn because of the location but the hotel staff have an unnecessary pretentious feel. The room I stayed in was nice and cozy and I appreciate the coffee/Keurig bar. The robes are cozy. The restaurant is good but not excellent. The mixed drinks are really good. If you order room service, you have to go down and pick it up - so it’s not traditional room service. The server at the restaurant was very sweet and knowledgeable. If you have heavy bags or are using a lot wheelchair - be sure to call ahead for assistance because they main entrance has a few steps and there isn’t anyone available to help. I’m certain there’s a ramp entrance somewhere but there isn’t clear signage.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was so welcoming and attentive willing to help with any recommendations or anything else we need during our stay. We had dinner at the Oak room and our waiter. Daniel went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, striking that personable and memorable conversations while going us five star service and the food was amazing as well. The beds were super comfortable to the point we didn’t wanna get out of bed, honestly one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. There’s an older property with his little quirk, but will definitely go back and highly recommend!!!

Night Auditor was not my favorite. I asked to extend my stay an extra day & he said the entire hotel was booked. I spoke to Jay the next morning & he said there was definitely a room available. Bar hours are kinda funky & breakfast is very underwhelming. Prime rib sandwich is to die for. Rooms are tiny & the drawers on the nightstand & chests are not easy to move. The property is insanely beautiful & there deer on the front lawn at night. Nice overall.

The Granville Inn is beautiful! The pictures of the rooms online do not do it justice. I was a little worried our room would be old-fashioned, but it was not. It was up-to-date and beautiful. We asked for a mini fridge in our room and they brought one up before we checked in. The property was beautiful and then walking distance to town. The town is super cute! The grounds are beautiful and well manicured. The food at the restaurant was good and they served the best espresso martini I have ever had at the bar. The one negative thing I will say is, we were there for a wedding and the wedding coordinator was rude! He was rude to the bride as well as a couple of guests. Overall, our stay was amazing. I would definitely recommend the Granville Inn to other people!

Historic inn with beautiful carved woodwork and beautifully decorated for Christmas with several trees and pine swags on the stairs. Extremely clean in all public areas as well as my room. Room was great, comfy soft mattress and luxurious bedding. Unfortunately the mattress is on a platform, and I took some bruises on my legs as souvenirs from the edges and corner. Wonderful step-in shower, good hot water and pressure. The inn is conveniently located a block from the charming downtown shops and restaurants, all very walkable. I was disappointed in the size of the ‘lobby’. I was hoping to relax by the fireplace but it’s very small and directly across from the checkin desk, a literal desk and chair, so I would be awkward. The second floor did have a small sitting room and free Kuerig coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Free, safe parking lot next to the inn. Breakfast, (anything from the menu, plus juice, coffee), is included. The bananas Foster French toast and bacon were delicious. I did not have a good dinner at the inn, though, and the waitress and Maitre d’ that evening, or the desk clerk the next day seemed to care. Several things went wrong, plus the waitress told me there would be a delay as my entree was burned and she refused to serve, and they were remaking it. But it was also burned. I would love to return.

Stay here 3-4 times per year. Nice clean rooms. Used to have an amazing free menu breakfast. But it is now a mediocre Continental breakfast like at a cheap hotel! The breakfast was a main reason we would routinely return as guests. Big bummer. Bad change

Only complaint was no hot breakfast that I’ve been used to. Should say”Continental breakfast”. I understand that when it’s a slower time of year it does not make business sense to staff a kitchen. Should however inform your guests.

Love Granville Inn! This last trip though was a little meh - went on NYE and the restaurant and bar closed super early - like 7pm. And not the normal hot breakfast which was a total bummer. I get it’s NYE but celebrate it rather than having a skeleton crew staff and amenities. Or at least communicate this at booking so guests know what to expect.

Lovely place to stay in Granville. Nice clean room and wonderful breakfast. The only issue we had was there were some old pipes that made some noise at night. I slept fine, but it bothered my husband a little. We were bummed the old bar across the street was closed for renovations, but what a cute, tiny town. We enjoyed walking around and seeing the university and community.

We were there with our two teenage daughters to visit Denison University and couldn’t have been happier with the beautiful Inn, comfortable rooms, and close chess to campus. The breakfast was a sweet addition to our stay.
