Waipouli Beach Resort and Spa Kauai by OUTRIGGER

So beautiful!! Loved having a kitchen, washer and dryer. Safeway and ABC right across the street. The resort was amazing. 3 hot tubs, great kiddie swim area, and the 2 slides were super fun. The restaurant was delicious. Went snorkeling at the beach right next to the resort. Perfect place. Wish I could live there!

We just got back from a five nights stay here and the grounds are incredible. The pool is absolutely amazing and beautiful. It it is right on the beach, although the beaches there are not really swimmable due to the Rocky nature. The rooms are amazing! Having a kitchen is really important. Unless you want to eat out at every turn and with the prices in Hawaii no one wants to do that. The partial Ocean View is actually mostly of the parking lot but still very nice. We had four of us, two adults and two children. We chose the room with the King size bed in the bedroom and then there is a pull out sofa in the living room. The kids didn't mind the sofa bed, although I would say it is mediocre at best if you have an adult sleeping on it. There is a washer and dryer and a unit which really is incredible. There is no maid service here which works out fine. We did not try the restaurant but her the food was good. It is right across the street from a safeway, ABC store, as well as what is supposed to be the best shaved ice place on the island but we did not get to try it.

We had a wondeful time at the Waipouli Beach Resorts & Spa. The 2 bedroom, 3 bath, oceanfront room was absolutely perfect. It was so nice to have a full kitchen and a safeway right across the street. The pool was perfect. The only probelm we experienced was that the air conditioner wasn't working in the fitness room so it mad e working out impossible.

Loved staying on this property. It has the comfort and space of a condo with the resort vibe. The pool was great, we watched the sunrise from the beach most mornings, the gym was better than most, the 2 bedroom condo was spacious and we hated leaving.

The pool and kiddie beach was great for our little one! Grocery store and restaurants within easy walking distance. We would definitely stay here again!

12/10!! Best hotel in the east portion of the island. Clean facilities, wonderful pools and water slides. Restaurant was better than Tidepools down south- farm to table delicious upscale meals! Monk seals on the beach. We were SO pleased! We will be back and have already recommended to friends for future stays!!!

This property is amazing if ypu are traveling with kids! 18, 14, and 7 could have stayed at the pool all day if we let them. That being said, the pool was very cold. And took quite a bit of getting used to. We were originally excited about the restaurant on site but after spending 70 dollars on 3 adult drinks that were tiny, we opted to go elsewhere. The location of the resort was nice. Kauai is a small island so it didnt seem like it took forever to get anywhere from the resort. Our condo was amazing. Overlooked the lanai and ocean. Was nice to be able to go out to the beach eventhough i wouldnt let me kids swim there. Overall, would stay here again.

This property is close to the ocean and the airport. It is clean with a fun pool area that kids would love. It has 3 hot tubs which was also nice. They let you check out towels to take to the beach and they have a nice grill you can use as well. The staff was friendly and very helpful and let us have a late check out so we wouldn’t have to wait at the airport all afternoon. We had a great time!

Room not ready when we got there. Elevator not working. Stove wouldn't come on. Didn't bother to tell us how to turn it on. No one there that morning to help til 9. First day not very good. Got better the next few days. Pool is nice. Elevator started working. Front desk staff very nice. Watch out for the maintenance guy who will use foul language at you. Not nice. Elevator broke again upon leaving. We have stayed in better places.

The pool is amazing. Very family oriented resort. Clean facilities and friendly staff. Nice BBQ grill areas. Probably the best place to stay with a family on the island. They have a beach area and there is always a lounge chair available. It is located between the North and South side of the island which is the perfect location. I thought about staying on the South side next time, but I think this place probably has the best pool area on the island. They have a restaurant on-site as well. I do wish it was in an area that was a little more lush, but it is like its own little world. I would highly recommend it.

Beautiful area and rooms. Hotel elevator needs updating, very slow and rickety! Our condo needed new carpets (or carpets removed) as there was a musty smell. Otherwise, beautiful!

Room was very clean and large. Kitchen had all basic necessitates. Eesort was clean!

The property was well maintained, very good location its close to everything groceries, airport & the beach. The unit that we stayed is very clean & very spacious. For sure we will stay in the same place next time we visit Kauai

We enjoyed that the pool and jacuzzi closed late. Beach was ok. We didn’t like that there’s no daily room cleaning or fresh towels. Rooms can use a deep clean.

We were met with unexpected charges as soon as we checked in of almost $1000 for only 3 nights after we had paid the full hotels.com rate. The beach was meh and the pool furniture was old and not maintained. Sometimes the passcode to the pool worked and sometimes it didn’t. You are only allowed 6 towels your whole stay and have to keep your towels clean. The hallways of the hotel were never vacuumed the whole time we were there and we never had anyone clean our room. The area around the hotel wasn’t great either. I would recommend not staying in Kaapa if you can avoid it.

The room smell so bad. Not sure whether it’s from air conditioner or soggy wet carpet. Saw lizard in the bathroom too.

Our stay started off on the wrong foot and unfortunately set the tone for the entire trip. The room had a strange smell, like something was being covered up with plug-ins, and everything felt dated. The kitchen had updated appliances, but the furniture and decor were old. We tried to make the best of it and went to the pool, which was much smaller than the photos suggested. But then things took a turn for the worse. My youngest daughter went to shower and suddenly screamed—sewage was coming up from the drain. The smell was unbearable. We called the front desk and someone came to unblock it, but when I asked to be moved due to the health hazard, the manager coldly said there were no rooms and we could either stay or check out. No professional cleaning was offered, just regular housekeeping with a mop. After begging, they offered one night at their sister hotel, but we had to pack up, drive over, and return the next day—wasting our limited vacation time. The manager was dismissive and condescending, claiming, “These things happen once in a blue moon.” We were only refunded for one night. The second bathroom remained unusable, so five of us shared one shower. The smell lingered. Also, the washer smelled awful and had sand and possible mold in the lining. What was supposed to be a special family and anniversary trip turned into one of the worst travel experiences we’ve had. I truly question how this place is being managed. Stay far away!

The property is overall nice. Unfortunately we had booked a Gardenview room - well this meant a PARKING LOT VIEW room. I didn’t spend $500 a night for a parking lot. I could have stayed at a Motel-6 for that. The single restaurant on property was closed most of the time we were there. The pool area is small but nice. The beach is nice. Overpriced for what you get.

We had a 1 bedroom that was beautifully setup. Our view of the ocean and the sunrise was phenomenal! The pool area was immaculate and had plenty of lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas. We had so much fun on the water slides! Like kids again! Only had drinks from The Oasis restaurant….not impressed. Overall we would definitely return and recommend it to friends!

Great property. The two bedroom was big, roomy, and very enjoyable. The grounds are well kept. The pool is amazing. would definitely stay here again. The only drawback is that currently the restaurant is Open for dinner only.

We loved our stay. It was so nice having a full kitchen and washer/dryer! Right across the street from a grocery store! The beds were super comfy and the pool was perfect for our 5 year old. Would stay again!

Our 2 bdrm suite was perfectly situated on the corner with a beautiful ocean view. The suite was spacious and had a great floor plan. The pool is perfect for younger kids and the beach is very nice and was never crowded. It is pretty windy and although you can swim, there are rocks at this beach. A big shout out to the staff - wonderful, friendly and helpful. Mahalo!

The one bedroom condos had a great view of the ocean. Each condo was very clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. The grounds and pool were beautiful. There is easy access to the beach. All in all we had a great time staying here.

The location is good, but if you chose this studio it's completely dated and needs to be remodeled. In addition the air conditioner is a big unit in the middle of this studio so if you're a light sleeper it will wake you up every time it turns on as it does make noise. In addition it does need to be services as it doesn't get the room cold enough.

The girls at the front desk especially Lani are awesome. It is so nice to walk across the street to Safeway, ABC Store, and getting Shave Ice. We booked an Outrigger room so our experience could be different from other owner rooms.

When we arrived it was not clear where i was to check in. The lobby looks to be the obvious place but was not. There was no one to ask for assistance in that area. Check-in took quite awhile and i was then told to pay an additional $560 on top of what i prepaid to book this place. I told them no i was not advised that i would pay anything other than the resort fees each night. That finally got cleared but if i had not said anything I would have paid almost $560 a night!! This place was much too expensive for what you get. When we arrived our AC unit wasent working and the room had a very strong musty odor. Later when i tried to run the dishwasher it leaked all over the floor and said "error". Since we only stayed three days I told the office to fix it after we checked out. The pool was nice but was closed one day without warning after it rained pretty hard most of the day. The beach that you can walk to is nice but not a swimming beach. Would not come back again. Much too pricey for what you get in return. The area in general is very congested and traffic heading west is almost always backed up on the highway. Give yourself time if your headed to Poipu for the day from Kapaa.

The customer service was absolute garbage. They do not check in on you through your stay.

Lobby had zero staff. Sometimes you'd see a 3rd party security card. Our room didn't include the laundry soap starter pack it was supposed to. Pool had zero staff too. No lifeguard either so kids slide was always chaotic with bad kids making their own rules. Resort was clean and affordable with a huge room, but the lack of staff wasn't great.

If you stay here make sure you are charged all fees when you check in. This hotel claims to have switched billing systems and charged my card almost two months after check out for their resort fee. I called to ask why I was charged so late without any notice and was told it was “an oversight.” No refund was made. I will not be staying here again. Make sure you get charged upfront so you don’t get any fun surprises 2 months later.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Fitness center and pool an availability hours were good. Walkable access to eating, shopping, beach. Great central location.

Only complaint was the resort fee. I did not see that on description. Excellent location on island. Stores food with in walking distance. We traveled every day to different beaches because you are in perfect location for snorkeling or surfing or hiking all within 20 minute drives.

We liked that it is central to the north and south shores. Very nice condo aside from the matress.

Very central to everything on the island.

The condo was great and (except sofa bed very uncomfortable). No maid service to speak of you need to wash your own towels and take out your garbage. Pool area fantastic with easy beach access. Restaurant on property great view but pricey and very small portions. Walking distance to Safeway and ABC store.

The property was quiet and very relaxing. The beach wasn’t too busy and the pool was very family friendly. The suites were roomy and comfortable. The only negative was I wish they had a pool lounge for lunch and drinks.

It was easy to navigate and get around. It also has a nice pool area and great restaurant.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The hotel was super nice and the room was great. There’s a shopping center across the street that is super easy to walk too which helped on the days we didn’t have a car. The one thing we wish was different was if there was bar service at the pool. I know they have the Oasis restaurant but it doesn’t open until 3pm. There also is no where to get breakfast near by except Starbucks if you don’t have a car. Other than that, we had an amazing time!

Love the condo rooms - very spacious, comfortable but hate not having maid service, fresh towels, no garbage pickup - even limited service is needed. We had to take trash outside and get fresh towels from the pool area for our showers. If you expect people to launder their own towels you should provide laundry detergent. Food at Oasis restaurant was great but considerably overpriced

Needs more food options and bars

They do not give you extra towels said to clean them yourself. The lazy river pool was not a lazy river. A lazy river pool has floats this did not. Restaurant didn’t open until 4 pm. There was no pool side snack bar. You had to bring your own snacks and water. Way overpriced for just sleeping. Would not recommend

I feel like we were robbed. We booked an ocean view condo, and we wound up looking at a parking lot. The front desk people were no help, and didn't really care. One of the main reasons for choosing this property was the restaurant, which we had visited before and loved. However, it is either under new management or just changed everything - not even open for lunch, and a limited menu at dinner. Unlikely we will return to either one.
