I recently stayed at OUTRIGGER Kauaʻi Beach Resort & Spa and would give it 4 stars. The property was very clean, beautiful, and well-maintained. My room was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable. The location is convenient to the airport and several attractions, and there is a restaurant on the property. I also enjoyed the drinks from the bar! The resort is currently undergoing construction, so depending on where you are, you may hear some loud noise. It didn't really bother me, it was more of a “wow, that's loud” moment. I understand that work needs to be done, and the construction workers were very professional and respectful. They kept to themselves and never made guests feel uncomfortable, even when people were walking around in swimsuits. I did walk down to the beach, but there wasn't really anywhere to lay out, and the waves were too large for swimming during my stay. Part of the pool area was also closed, although I'm not sure why. My only real issue was housekeeping. My room was not serviced after my first night, even though the website states rooms are serviced daily. I didn't report it because I returned exhausted after spending the entire day exploring. I enjoyed my stay and found the staff very friendly. However, I personally spend most of my vacations out exploring, so I didn't use the pools, spa, fitness center, or other resort amenities. For my travel style, I'd probably choose a less expensive hotel next time rather than paying additional fees.

This hotel is under renovation so there is construction, cones, plastic tarps visually everywhere. They only had the restaurant open for lunch and dinner (which as a nice restaurant with good service) and the main bar available for lunch and drinks for the middle of the day. There is no outside bar open and the photos where the waterfall is is coned/blocked off. Also you can’t see the beach from the pool it’s covered with bushes so you aren’t getting the beach front experience I was hoping for. We did enjoy the ukulele and lei making classes and the evening music nightly at the bar. It was all fine but I wish I would have known before booking and wish we didn’t pay what we paid for room, taxes, resort fees and parking. I certainly feel like there were other better options on the island for the price point we paid

We stayed in mid May while the hotel was finishing their renovations. Things were maze like as major parts of the hotel weren’t reopened yet. Despite this, the staff were very friendly, responsive, and accommodating. Our room was beautiful and well maintained, and we received house keeping daily. We can’t want to return and enjoy the newly renovated property!

Vi havde desværre en blandet oplevelse under vores ophold. Hotellet har en fantastisk beliggenhed, men det trænger generelt til en kærlig hånd. Poolområdet er slidt, og mange af fliserne i poolen sidder løst eller er gået i stykker, hvilket både ser dårligt ud og kan være en sikkerhedsrisiko. Derudover var der omfattende renoveringsarbejde ved poolen under hele vores ophold. Der gik håndværkere rundt det meste af dagen, og støjen var meget forstyrrende. Når man tager på ferie, håber man på ro og afslapning, men det fik vi desværre ikke. Vores første værelse havde et badekar, som var malet. Malingen skallede af, når badekarret blev brugt. Vi blev heldigvis flyttet til et andet værelse, men præcis det samme problem var der også. Det virker som en meget dårlig løsning at male et badekar med en maling, der ikke kan tåle vand. Restaurantoplevelsen var også blandet. JB og Jonny var fantastiske – utrolig søde, venlige og meget servicemindede. Bartenderen fortjener også stor ros for sin gode service. Om aftenen skabte live-musikken og bålet en virkelig hyggelig stemning, som vi nød. Desværre oplevede vi også, at nogle af tjenerne virkede til at prioritere gæster, der gav drikkepenge. Det efterlod et indtryk af, at servicen afhang af drikkepenge, hvilket vi synes er en forkert indstilling. Maden levede heller ikke op til prisen. Main four things to know: Despite this Hotels price point expect to get nickel and dimed. Staff will tell you one thing and then just not help you. Better beaches just as close to the airport south of the Hotel. Currently 7/2026 most of the hotel is under construction. Parts look 35 years old and falling apart and parts are brand new, The pool area is missing tiles, faux rock is falling apart. Here is what went down: I was informed at check-in that the amenities that hotels.com said were included were not included. Hotels.com eventually gave me a voucher to cover the amenities the hotel staff was pretty curt about it and acted like I was crazy for expecting anything even after I showed them the receipt clearly showing that I had been lied to. I was told we could shower after check out if we wanted to go swim before our flight...they meant we could rinse off at the public outdoor pools. I told them we have 9 hours of flights and they said we could shower. They gave me soup and told me to go outside. Staff told us Hotels.com price did not include about $50 in fees at checkout. We booked this place because it was close to the airport, We had stayed the rest of the trip at Poi'pu further south. It is close-ish, its about 7 mins away,, but no shuttle, The Uber is between $20-$40 which is about the same for anywhere on the east to south east of the Island. There is a great beach South of the airport called Kalapaki, anything over there would be better.
