We enjoyed walking the beach at sunset, eating pizza on our screened in porch overlooking the ocean, swimming in the pool, touring the property, and having lunch on the porch at the restaurant. A perfect location for viewing Waimea Canyon and Kokee State Parks and for taking a sunset dinner cruise to the Napoli Coast.

Adorable cottages. Definitely a throwback to a quieter time. Seems designed to have you stay put and relax. Very close to Waimea shops, 2 restaurants on site, black sand beach and lovely hammocks. They have chairs, umbrellas and coolers for the beach. We enjoyed our stay here while hiking in Waimea Canyon.

The plantation along with the cottages are wonderful! The grounds are spacious and you don’t feel crowded at all. You can easily find private spots at any time of day. The cottages are rustic but clean and cozy, just what you would expect from a plantation house. That said, the air conditioning made for modern convenience throughout the day. Also, the bar with its tap area and bbq chicken from the restaurant were awesome. Like much of Kauai, this is a very quiet, laid back place. Just what you would expect for the area.

We had a wonderful stay here. The cottage was spacious and cozy. The view of the ocean was great with a large swimming pool right near the beach. It was very close to the harbor for our napali coast boat trip as well as to waimea canyon

My stay at Waimea plantation cottages was amazing. Great location, cottages are super homey and cozy. Right by the beach, and had a pool. Only thing I wish is hot tub stayed open later than sunset. Overall would recommend and hope to come back and stay again.

We (2 adults and 2 children) spent 6 nights in one of the cottages of this extraordinary hotel. The cottage was in spotless conditions. Air conditioning in the living room, fans in the other rooms, which may be disturbing if you do not like warm and humid conditions. The resort includes a wonderful pool and a simple but lovely restaurant. Great views no matter where you are in the estate.

The setting , cottages and property was excellant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was very quiet and peaceful during our stay. The pool was not busy or crowded. The grounds well keep. Free laundry area and soap provided. Anything we needed was promptly supplied. The kitchen well supplied. The beds comfortable.

Our stay was extremely disappointing. The hotel was incredibly dirty — there wasn’t a single area that seemed properly cleaned. Even the dishes were dirty. we didn’t receive any of the agreed perks: no early check-in, no late check-out, and no complimentary sparkling wine. Overall, the stay was extremely overpriced for what we got. The value for money was terrible, and the experience did not make sense at all.

Beautifully quaint. Not fancy. Adorable. We loved the property cats. They hang around & are such sweet things. Only complaint was a hairball from a previous guest high up in the 2nd & 3rd bedroom shower. Windowsill in that shower was also not clean @ all. Otherwise was great! Definitely will stay again.

Property premises are well kept and have few games (volleyball, shuffleboard) that families can enjoy by the beach. Staff is quite friendly and helpful. The problem is that the cottage itself is not in good state. Kitchen cabinets, bathroom definitely need some work, e.g drawers in kitchen cabinet are very hard to open/close, bathroom tiles are broken, kitchen faucet keeps leaking…etc. Ceiling height is too short and all of us had to duck under the ceiling fans so as to not hit them. Probably won’t go back as there are better places to stay at the same price and the location is not too convenient if you are into snorkeling (no good beaches on west side of Kauai)

The front entrance door knob was falling apart and made it hard to open the door. Eventually it fell off, but we fixed it. Otherwise everything else was fantastic. Beautiful place and lots to do around the cottage.

I liked the spaciousness of our one bedroom cottage and the beauty of the grounds. There was only one air conditioner which is in the living area--not enough to cool down the entire cottage. There was, however, a large standing fan so between the two, it was fine. I wish the beach was swimmable--but I knew going in that it wasn't. Nice pool so that was good! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free laundry facilities on the property really came in handy. Our porch had two chairs but only a small round end-type table. Many of the other cottages had tables large enough for dining which I would have preferred. Fridge was full size and plenty of pots & pans, utensils, etc. If you have coconut sensitively like me, bring your own amenities such as soap and shampoo. They did not have any alternatives. The pros of staying at the cottages far outweighed any of the cons. Would definitely return!

We loved our cottage at Waimea Plantation Cottages. It had an "old Hawaii" feel and was perfect for our family of three. We enjoyed time on the porch, listening to the ocean, and walking the grounds. Our only quibble is that the living room furniture was uncomfortable when we were winding down in the evenings. The location was great. We had easy access to everywhere we wanted to go (all over the island!). We spent time at Poipu Beach and were happy to come back to our quiet, less busy home base. The beach adjacent to the property is not swimmable (as advertised) but was a lovely place for a morning walk. What truly set this property apart from the many well-known chain resorts where we've stayed was the customer service. The staff was thoughtful, helpful, and flexible. We loved that they had beach umbrellas and chairs available for our use for the week. The service was truly what set

Waimea Plantation Cottages are on the quieter side of the island. It is more laid back and less touristy. It was great to enjoy the peace that comes with the west side of the island of Kauai. The cottages are old, but well-maintained and comfortable. Our family of 5 stayed in a 3 bedroom cottage and enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and there is a decent little restaurant on site.

We were in cottage C - lucky, lucky us. Gorgeous 1930’s vibe, 2 large bedrooms and baths, a living room, dining room, and kitchen, and 2 porches. Homey and comfortable with striking up-close-and-personal view of the ocean. Our own private quiet beachfront. So peaceful, acknowledging the crowing of the roosters and crashing of the waves in the early am. Best part of our 2 week trip that included Maui and Big Island.

Plantation was nice. The cottage kitchen pans suck we make breakfast every or tried to there pans were the worse and a glass pan broke while my husband was making breakfast. Living room furniture is very uncomfortable and hard.

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The vibe was absolute perfection. I’m already thinking about when I can go back. Each cottage had a fully functional kitchen and plenty of space for the whole family. They provided beach towels, and you can ‘checkout’ beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers for your entire stay. My only caution is the cottages are very old and don’t have usb ports so make sure to bring your phone charger boxes. Every cottage has a gorgeous view and waking up every morning to the smell of the plumeria trees is amazing. Needless to say book the trip here you won’t be disappointed

We really enjoyed our stay! If you are looking for an authentic Kauai experience, this is the place! We could see the ocean from our porch as we enjoyed our coffee each morning! Parking was super convenient and the Staff was outstanding!

This was my absolute favorite part of visiting Kauai. The staff was very kind, especially the night manager. Loved seeing the smiles on all of their faces. Food and drinks couldn't have been any better. The cottage, I fell in love with it. I rate it a 10.

To treat ourselves for our 10-year wedding anniversary we decided to book this place and pay the extra premium for the oceanfront cottage with king-size bed over the significantly cheaper queen size units available. When we checked in, however, we found that we were booked in a cottage with a queen-size bed in a tiny bedroom. When we inquired about this, we were told by the front desk that we could always cancel and complain to "Expedia" to get our money back. The hotel did not show a lot of willingness to fix or make up for their oversight and blamed Expedia. Apparently there had been another guest with a similar case of false-advertising not too long before us. Yet, the hotel and Hotels.com did not change their website or try to prevent this from happening again. After some discussion they agreed to refund the $30 per night resort fee, which did not make up for the difference we paid when booking. It is still not clear why the cottage was advertised with king sized bed, but we were booked in a smaller place. We also did not immediately get the advertised bottle of sparkling wine and had to ask for it. Pool towels were not available in the cottage or in the hotel lobby, so we had to walk back to our room and wait for housekeeping to drop them off. Aside from the disappointing service (considering the price) the hotel is in a beautiful location on a beautiful island and the cottages are very cute.

This was an “ok” property at best. The cabins while meant to be “rustic” were in need of updates and new appliances. The furniture in the living room was not comfortable. The restaurant did not stay open after 8pm and when we were able to go when it was open, nobody would wait on us. I also think there should be at least every other day room servicing. Most likely will not be back again.

The cottage was not ready at time to check in. When we were told it was ready it was unkempt and worn down. It was not as featured. Bathroom were stand up studio 1/2 shower, and AC didn't work. Tried to resolve and refund. Staff yelled called me names and told me to go back to where I came from. Refused to resolve or take calls.

The setting , cottages and property was excellant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was very quiet and peaceful during our stay. The pool was not busy or crowded. The grounds well keep. Free laundry area and soap provided. Anything we needed was promptly supplied. The kitchen well supplied. The beds comfortable.

I absolutely loved it here. Coming from the city, I looked forward to the feel of “old” Hawaii. Loved the cottage that we stayed in. I expected the vintage atmosphere and appreciated it. Waimea has that small town feel. Lucky that there was a grocery store close by because we were able to cook breakfast and ate on our huge lanai every morning. If you’re a foodie and like to eat out, unfortunately, Waimea town didn't have a large selection of restaurants. Waimea Plantation Cottages offers a full kitchen, AC in all the rooms, hammocks throughout the property, a walkable (not for swimming) beach, a nice pool, and beautiful sunsets. If you want relaxation with charming and very quiet surroundings, this place is perfect. I would definitely return!!

Most of all I loved how quiet it was. I was travelling for work-related reasons but super glad I decided to get a cottage here. It is in a beautiful peaceful grove of trees and the perfect location to get away from it all. The cottages are right on the edge of Waimea - so you can feasible walk to the restaurants. There was a giant black sand beach right in front of the cottage area that had virtually no one on at it, and it is right at the entry road to Waimea canyon - which is some of the most beautiful hiking in Hawaii. The cottages had a legitimate kitchen (full size oven, fridge, pots and pan etc.) and even included conveniences like coffee filters and dish soap so all I needed to do was buy some of the food I wanted.

We had a wonderful stay here. The cottage was spacious and cozy. The view of the ocean was great with a large swimming pool right near the beach. It was very close to the harbor for our napali coast boat trip as well as to waimea canyon

An outstanding spot for peace and quiet. The cottages are a taste of old Hawaii, but with all the amenities you could ask for. If I could give 6 stars, I would. You’ll DEFINITELY want a rental car to traverse around the island from this spot, unless you just want tranquility and paradise from your porch to the beach to the pool to hammock. Mahalo!

This was a unique and authentic Hawaiian experience. The cottage was clean, spacious and comfortable with all of the amenities we needed. The grounds were impeccably maintained. The views and sounds of waves, birds and chickens made it better than any chain resort. It’s a little remote but Nāpali boat experiences and the Waimea Canyon are right outside your door.

The plantation along with the cottages are wonderful! The grounds are spacious and you don’t feel crowded at all. You can easily find private spots at any time of day. The cottages are rustic but clean and cozy, just what you would expect from a plantation house. That said, the air conditioning made for modern convenience throughout the day. Also, the bar with its tap area and bbq chicken from the restaurant were awesome. Like much of Kauai, this is a very quiet, laid back place. Just what you would expect for the area.

Waimea Plantation Cottages are on the quieter side of the island. It is more laid back and less touristy. It was great to enjoy the peace that comes with the west side of the island of Kauai. The cottages are old, but well-maintained and comfortable. Our family of 5 stayed in a 3 bedroom cottage and enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and there is a decent little restaurant on site.

The cottage was cute and clean. Very charming. We loved the property. The staff was hot and cold. Some were very friendly and others seem distracted. The onsite dining was mediocre, but lots of places to eat within walking distance. Highly recommend Island Taco. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The complimentary laundry facilities were very convenient.

We (2 adults and 2 children) spent 6 nights in one of the cottages of this extraordinary hotel. The cottage was in spotless conditions. Air conditioning in the living room, fans in the other rooms, which may be disturbing if you do not like warm and humid conditions. The resort includes a wonderful pool and a simple but lovely restaurant. Great views no matter where you are in the estate.

We (2 adults and 2 children) spent 6 nights in one of the cottages of this extraordinary hotel. The cottage was in spotless conditions. Air conditioning in the living room, fans in the other rooms, which may be disturbing if you do not like warm and humid conditions. lovely peaceful old world place. Beautiful grounds. If you are looking for the antithesis of the high rise tourist hotel, this is it! The black sand beach is great for walking or riding horseback, but not swimable. ( the pool is popular) We loved sitting on our porch in the morning looking at the ocean hearing the birds. And watching the sunsets in the hammocks or lawn chairs was great! Very friendly laid back place. We were disappointed that the restaurant on the grounds wasn’t better and there weren’t many options nearby.

We loved it here!!! We would live here if we could. It’s an amazing and special place. We loved the vibe so much. It is a very peaceful and beautiful place. The cottages are so charming, being from the original plantation, with hardwood floors and metals roofs. The main building, where registration and the restaurant was, is also an old building and very charming. The modern kitchen in the cottage was great. It had everything we needed. We cooked meals twice a day. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was huge with a shower and a separate tub. There was air conditioning. The landscaping was so beautiful, with the old trees, the flowers and the grass. The pool was lovely. We were in it almost everyday. The black sand beach, even though not swimable, was wonderful to walk every evening, especially at sunset. We would also sit at the beach edge, in lounge chairs, and watch the sunset. Each cottage has their own lanai with table and chairs. We would sit on our lanai every day, listening to the birds and the waves. There are no chickens here so no roosters crowing 24/7 which was lovely. Each cottage has its own parking spots. All the staff very friendly. They responded very quickly with a maintenance question. If you want to get away from the huge crowds of the bigger resorts and enjoy the peace and quiet of an old plantation, this is it. There is no other place on Kauai like this place. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

We had such a wonderful stay at Waimea Plantation Cottages! Everyone on the staff was warm and welcoming, but we especially want to recognize Sky at the front desk. She was so friendly, helpful, and genuinely hospitable, and she made us feel very well taken care of. Our cottage was well maintained and very clean. The AC worked beautifully—it stayed nice and crisp inside, and the air smelled fresh, with none of the musty or moldy smell you sometimes encounter in humid climates. We also enjoyed having a full kitchen, which was easy and convenient to cook in. The only minor suggestions would be to add a wire-mesh strainer to the kitchen sink to keep food debris out of the drain and possibly replace or repair the microwave, since it didn’t heat very well. These were small inconveniences and didn’t take away from our overall experience. We had a great time and would happily stay here again. The cottages are charming and comfortable, but the wonderful hospitality is what really made our visit special.

If you want an Aloha experience come to this resort. I really could relax in this vintage cottage. The location is off the usual tourist route yet near amenities like restaurants, and shops. Waimea Canyon is a 40 minute drive to hiking and amazing views. This would be an ideal setting for a wedding celebration many unique cabins for guests to stay at with grassy beach area. Loved the vibes.
