Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Wytheville, VA

Staff was friendly but unable to address our concerns. The room smelled of mold/mildew staff would/could not change our room per expedia rules?? No battery in smoke detector, bathroom wall/door frame dirty. Hot tub cold and pool was colder could mot be fixed by staff.

Could have warned that construction was going on and that amenities were closed.

We were traveling from Florida to New York and were looking forward to stopping after a very long day of driving to let the kids swim in the pool and soak in the hot tub. The pool and hot tub were not open when we arrived because there was no heater which should have been posted somewhere on the site. It was the primary reason we chose this hotel and could have found something else. Very disappointing.

Pool was out of service and was a main reason for choosing this hotel. I found a piece of glass beside the bed and under the sink was very nasty.

This hotel is showing it's age. Elevator was out, ice machine was out. Breakfast machines out. Signs everywhere sign where thing were not working. Investment for many repairs needs to be done by the parent company.

The pool wasn’t open due to renovations. Did not know that when we booked. Could use the one next door but had to walk over. So I would say room was overpriced considering not all facilities were available. Great staff though!

Staff was nice. The hotel is under construction and pool and hot tub is closed. Need to post this on your site for people when booking. The rooms are outdated.

Our grandkids enjoyed the pool and the downtown area was close. However, We were on the 5th floor and the elevator was not working which was very inconvenient when traveling with our grandkids and needing to bring up cribs and such.

Disappointed in this stay. Pool was closed with no notice. Room was dirty and dated. Morning buffet few hot items were empty and took a bit of time to be replenished. For the price it fell well short of my expectations.

Mid point stop on way to Myrtle Beach froM Michigan. Small issue after checkin. Our keys did not work for our room. Front desk was very helpful in recoding and went to our room to make sure they worked. Stay was good, gave us a list of local resturants. Beds were nice. only downside spa jets need replaced, not much circulation to the water at all. The warmth did feel good thou on arthritis in joints after ten hour drive.

Easy check in. Friendly staff. Convenient location near stores/food. Few stains in the shower, and one room smelled musty. Bathroom drain was backed up. Overall a nice hotel for a night or two.

Rooms could use a good deep cleaning. Corners filled with built up dirt, carpet left socks dirty, hair on bathroom floor and toilet.

Person at check in was very friendly. Air conditioner worked great and room was cool. Upon entry the cover was off the light fixture above the door exposing the wires and bulb and there was a big orangey brown stain in the tub and corners of the bathroom were dirty. There was also some kind of substance on the lamp next to the bed. Just needs a deep cleaning overall. Found a bobby pin on the floor by the bed too.

Horrible freeway/road noise. Bugs in room and bathroom. Crumbs on the floor. Spacious room but didn’t feel clean. I would not stay again.

Unfortunately we had to leave the hotel due to mold. The room had a musty/ mildew smell with mold in the window casing. We could only be in the room for 30 before mold and mildew reactions set in.

The woman at the counter was so sweet, welcoming, attentive and helpful. However , the room was dirty , the toilet is not properly installed, and flops from side to side when you sit on it , badly. The ceiling in the shower has hair and mold in it. The tub or sink hasn't been cleaned well in a while with mold and scum build up all over the drains the tub was slimy on the mat I immediately put my flip flops on to shower. The door barely opens and shuts as it bangs into the counter top. The room hasn't been cleaned properly in sometime and any areas behind the doors and at the corners on the vanity are filled with hair and dirt.we stayed across the parking lot last week on our way down to the beach and the property was very clean but I was hoping the pool and other facilities would be better over here. For more than $100 more this place is very dirty and not well kept. The pool area smells of urine and wads of hair were getting caught on everyone as we swam. It was not our hair . The girl at the counter was the only thing that stopped me from.complaining and leaving, that and exhaustion from our drive. So disappointing if it had not been as expensive I would have had much lower expectations and wouldn't have given as low of a rating. I don't know I'll ever stay at a country inn again.

Just plain dirty. Dirt and paper under vanity in bathroom. White drops splattered on back of bathroom door. Corners dirty. Elevator dirty. Obvious lack of adequate housekeeping/general management. Staff unprofessional but pleasant enough.

Spotless room! Comfortable beds. Very spacious. Staff wonderfully kind. Housekeeping did a beautiful job keeping our room clean during our stay.

The outside of the hotel was nice. The front desk receptionist was okay but certainly not overly friendly . The room was okay but my bed was rock hard. The breakfast was bad. The juice machine wasn't working (the out of order sign looked old) and the milk cartons had all expired so there was nothing to drink. The scrambled eggs were hardly edible and the bread was stale. This is one chain that has gone downhill.

Everything was good. WiFi was down. Not helpful for the kids. Bathroom was partially redone. Beds were super firm. Otherwise clean and kept up. Breakfast was good.

This is average overnight travel stop if you are on your way to your final destination. The mattress is very firm which is not ideal and the pillows are extremely small.

Internet is horrible! Room was fine. Beds were okay. A/C worked fine. I had to unclog the shower head but then it was good pressure and plenty hot water. All in all not horrible but with many hotels around it for comparable price, I would probably try a different one if I had to return. TV channel line up was basic and no smart option. Breakfast was very basic (typical hotel) but they have people serving you and to me they were just more of a hindrance than a help. Seemed odd to me. Basically unless it was cheaper than everything around it and I was only returning for work, I probably would not come back…. The cookies at the front every night just isn’t why I return to a hotel!

All in all the motel was ok. My room had an AC unit that was very noisy and kept me awake most of the night. The toilet in my room was not well secured to the floor so it rocked a lot. Otherwise, the bed was fine, staff was great, and room was clean.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The hotel itself was dated, however, they are renovating. The location was great, but we could hear the noise from the highway.

It is very old and in need of an update.The room was extremely noisy due to the traffic On the adjacent interstate. I believe I only slept for 3-4 hours

Dated low end property with no redeeming or unique qualities.

It was a convenient location with fuel and food nearby. My only complaint was with the windows. It was windy out and the windows howled, the noise actually woke me up. New windows or repair the seal on the windows. Staff was excellent, room was clean and comfortable. Parking lot was well lit and area felt safe.

No clerk upon check-in. Waited about 10-15 minutes and finally a young guy eating a cookie came from the back. Still eating his cookie, he checked me in. The lobby almost scared me away. I would rate this hotel a 2 star at best. Only one elevator, so you will always spend time waiting. The mattresses were terrible. I think the bed was broken too as we were rolling downhill sideways. The bathroom was not clean. The bath tub had a permanent large red stain. I will not stay here again.

I booked through Expedia and didn’t pay extra to cancel. The hurricane hit and all major interstates are gone. Neighboring areas were asking people to stay away, no electricity or water or roads. I didn’t want to cancel, I wanted to reschedule for next year when things are better for the area. The other hotel I scheduled for earlier in the week had no problem. This hotel would not respond to my emails nor did they answer to Expedias emails or phone calls they made daily for a week. Inconsiderate greed

Check in was great. They asked proactively if we needed sheets for the pull out bed and offered us a wine key when they saw us with a new bottle of wine. Super easy and polite.

The property itself wasn’t too bad, but the walls were paper thin and you could hear everything through them. The guests in the next room were being extremely loud and it was like they were in the room with us. I called down and asked for them to ask them to get quiet because it was almost 11 and I had a 5 year old that couldn’t sleep- the girl said she would come up but I don’t know that she ever did as they were noisy for another 30-45 minutes before eventually getting quiet. Otherwise it wasn’t too bad. It looked like it was missing a loveseat or chair as the floor was wide open next to the bed, and the breakfast was just okay. Not a whole lot to choose from. I don’t think I will be coming back to this location.

Loved the check in. Extremely friendly service. Rooms were nice, bed was a bit uncomfortable. Breakfast was okay. The breakfast area was kept clean and staff was friendly.

Breakfast closed at 930am that nobody mentioned. Went in @ 938am..I told the staff (she) sorry I was late as she was putting the breakfast away. So I ask for a piece of Bagel that she had about @ least 10 that was in her hand-SHE SAID NO BREAKFAST CLOSED AT 930am. She seems mad.!! Very frustrating for begging a piece of bagel that-I paid for.. Won’t stay there again..

Arrived at 3pm check in time. Room was not available. Told it would be ready in 30 minutes. Came back at 4pm and room was ready. Slow, one elevator to 5th floor. Room was clean and adequate for one night stay. Overall, this country inn and suites not as nice as one located half hour away in Princeton, W VA.

The check in clerk had the personality of a wet dishrag

We tried to check in for over 15 to 20 minutes before a nice lady came by and said i not sure where he is to check in but i will see if i can find him. She called numerous people to try to help.

A one night stay after a long driving day. The hotel is nice and clean but it is located too close to highway 81 so your ear a constant loud traffic noise. There are a lot of large trucks in this highway all the time. Too noisy, we had to put ear plugs to find some sleep.

Easy to get to from I-77.

This is our second time stopping here on our way cross country. We love that it’s not only just off the highway, but that it’s clean and quiet! Our #1 choice if we’re in the area looking to stop for the night.

This hotel is going down hill. The most disappointing thing was the so-called "hot breakfast" which was a joke. They no longer cook anything on-site. It is pre-cooked and shipped frozen to the hotel. All they do at the hotel is heat the food to the prescribed temperature. The eggs were hard and not very tasty. The eggs were cooked in a round mold with the yolk sitting on the egg white--like a fried egg. The hashbrowns were horrible. The sausage links were ok and we could eat them with a waffle and syrup. The only fruit I saw were apples. The coffee was ok. They had no Danish nor muffins. Bread and bagels for toasting. They had other sundry items but nothing to write home about. They say they serve breakfast to 9:30 and they mean 9:30. Instead of closing the door at 9:30, the one and only cook/server starts pulling the food off the line. If you arrive at the breakfast any time before 9:30, you better help your plate with all you want to eat for they actually remove the food as quickly as possible at 9:30. You cannot blame the cook/server for she does the best she can with what the hotel provides. We have stayed at this hotel several times this year, but no more. The entire staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful. They advertise coffee and fresh-cooked chocolate chip cookies available in the lobby all day. That is a farce. They were always "just out" when we passed the front desk.

Clean room and great breakfast!

The breakfast was not up to the usual good food we have had before. The eggs were very bland and no taste. The recipe used for making waffles had no flavor what so ever. They both use to be very good. The sausage, potatoes, and biscuits were very good.

Breakfast options were empty When I arrived but staff did work hard to restock. Not much sleep between interstate traffic and people moving around on the floor above us

The bathroom curtain rod was poorly attached to the wall so the curtain kept sliding to the middle, causing a little flood to appear on the bathroom floor. There was also mold along the shower in different areas. The breakfast was subpar. The egg and cheese omelets were cold in the warmer. The cheese wasn't even melted in the middle. For the price I expected a bit more, tbh.

Good hotel nice and clean only issue is breakfast. There is a member of staff taking breakfast orders and making them one at a time. It felt like being in the dinner line at school with a board that you could order from. Where’s the breakfast buffet? and it doesn’t give you time to really decide what you want as there are people behind and you try to rush and it doesn’t give you the opportunity to get anything else. Covid days are over things are back to normal and this hotel needs to get back to normal. It’s very intimidating
