Apartment in 17th century Monument near Amsterdam

This was advertised as a 1500 Apartment with 2 bedrooms. It's a storage unit that they added 2 toilets too. There are no windows, the toilets extractor fans did not work and the host tried to order a new extractor fan on about the 27 of April 2026. The lights/globes in the place were also inadequate and had to go buy a 75 W globe in order to see anything in the kitchen. The second bed was a SOFA BED and the last time I had to sleep on a sofa bed was 40 years ago.

The garden apartment was clean and adorabke! We loved the town of Monnickendam. We could see fireworks right out our door.

Great stay, communicative host

The room was as advertised and clean. At first I was concerned about the sleeper sofa, but it was comfortable. Communication with the host was very good, they always responded promptly to my questions. Loved the town of Monnickendam and it was easy to get to Amsterdam via the bus.

Small, but fairly comfy and huge bonus of air conditioners! We hit the hottest days in the year. The property manager greeted us and showed us how to operate the beds and where everything was. She helped us figure the busses etc. it’s a little out of the way to the bus stop so luggage was a bit more difficult, but the town is so darling and we had a great meal!
