SpringHill Suites Richmond Northwest

We arrived on Wednesday and left Sunday. Our room was never cleaned despite bringing it to the attention of the front desk. When we arrived I had to ask for bath towels. The. I had to call to get the garbage emptied and get more towels. The dirty towels were not removed. At breakfast, the garbage pails were overflowing and front desk was advised. One morning there was no coffee ; another morning there were no cup guards - once we were told where they were stored we helped ourselves. No one was monitoring the breakfast area and replacing items as they ran out- that was every morning. The staff we met were very nice but clearly overwhelmed. There simply wasn’t sufficient staff so the front desk clerk brought up towels and emptied our garbage. I also had to go to the front desk to ask for toilet paper as there was no spare roll in the room. One elevator was not operating for two days. The stench of chlorine from the pool was overwhelming even with the door closed - the smell permeated down the hall to the elevator. Also couldn’t understand why the tv could not be turned so we could view it from the sofa or from the bed by the window. The hotel itself is a perfect location and in good condition but the lack of proper staffing and basic services would preclude us staying here again. As a Marriott Bonvoy member I was very disappointed.

We were pleased with everything except the thick layer of renovation dust over all tables and counters in the eating area. This was very apparent while people were eating. Other than that, we were pleased with our stay.

Under construction in the breakfast area while we were there. Had a limited selection of breakfast food items in a temporary room used for fixing a tray. Ran out of some of the food items. Our choice was to bring it outside to a patio area or up to our room. Not well done.

2 night stay. Studio King. Clean, spacious, and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast with hot and cold items. Fitness room was sparse (and that's being nice). Short drive to Downtown. Overall a very nice stay, and would definitely stay again!

Room & beds very comfy, good shower, descent free breakfast. One elevator was broken which was inconvenient. Pool was smaller than appears in pictures, but my daughter still loved it. Staff very friendly & gave pretzels & water. Would return again!

Liked the support of staff as the building was in renovation stage.

It should be stated that the hotel is under construction. The smell of the asphalt and whatever they were doing inside is not for anyone that has asthma or respiratory issues. They had zero bottle water and unable to adjust the thermostat in my room.

Great location and reception. Pleased with the room. I didn’t use the property amenities because such a short stay. Would stay here again. The pool and elevator needs some TLC. The temperature in the hallway to my room was too warm, not comfortable for price of stay.

Please DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS AT THIS LOCATION - my family and I have had such an awful experience. The pool is closed for renovations, however this was not disclosed when I called the location 3 times to confirm that the pool was open. I had 6 children with me, excited to go for a swim on their last day of school and graduation. We selected this location due to the indoor pool and forecasted rain. They continued to tell us that they were waiting for an engineer. The entire 4 days, no pool access. My babies were so disappointed. I spoke with Danyell, the general manager who confirmed at check in that the pool was open. It was not until we were in our bathing suits, that we were told the pool was closed for renovation. My babies cried…. Such a bummer! I would have totally went for another hotel with an operating pool (we reserved 2 suites, which were over $1000)…. Furthermore, the hotel kept running out of towels and washcloths. The “blankets” were exceptionally rough like hay. I could not, nor could my children use them. The breakfast section is exceptionally small and does not allow for a true buffet experience because the food was always out. The lobby (where breakfast is served) was PACKED with people waiting for food…. On top of all this - Nala and Takiya had really bad attitudes w/ exceptionally poor customer service. They provided no info and when I called Marriott Bonvoy, they said IT WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. We made the best of it, leaks paint chips and all!

Rooms are okay. Bathrooms need some cosmetic repairs (dingy tub and scum around water fixtures). Shower curtain had stains on it. Beds were clean and other areas except the window had a lot of spider webs. Staff were kind and helpful. Pool was nice.

Seemed much less than the pictures. Not the cleanest. Didn’t smell great. Dirty carpet. Tub/shower not inviting! Wouldn’t stay again. Paid a little more for this hotel than some others in the area were going for because I thought SpringHill was a step up.. not this one. I would try another place or expect this one to be cheaper! It isn’t awful I just had much higher expectations!

We usually love SpringHill suites but this one was not very clean. We found hairs around the room and in the towel that I used to shower.

Our first room was, very obviously, not cleaned prior to us checking in. It also was supposed to be a non-smoking room and smelled very much like cigarette smoke. The lady at the front desk graciously moved us to a new room which smelled much better and was, seemingly, cleaner. Upon pulling out the trundle bed for our son to sleep on we found a rotten, petrified banana…

Check in was smooth and friendly. The lobby looked pleasing and was clean. The first room my wife and I were given, #318, was much less than expected for a Marriott property. The couch had a gross spot of something on it and lint all over the right side. There was dust, specks of something, and a string several inches long on the floor. There was a long water stain on the bedroom ceiling at least five feet long and about six inches wide at the center. There was a liquid run stain of some sort on the front of the clothing drawers. Also a dried liquid run on top of the table in the seating area that looked like it was possibly orange juice? IDK, I hope that's all it was. Next to the shower was a large patch of stains on the textured wall. The sink had a large crack from the front top to the drain. Someone did a messy job trying to fill it with caulk as it looked terrible and almost certainly leaked. I called the front desk and after telling the clerk of our discoveries, he was eager to put us in another room. We were then given room 422. In stark contrast to room 318, it looked good and was clean. I believe the hotel is being renovated as there were new rolls of carpet placed near the front entrance. So my assumption is the first room was not renovated and the second may have been. It's amazing how two rooms in the same hotel were so different. After we were in a decent room, everything was great, including a friendly staff, good service, and the common areas were clean.

Beautiful lobby, hallways. Bathrooms need upgrades, dirty caulking, cracked tiles and worn fixtures.

There was a half eaten beef stick in the ice bucket in the room. Lots of Hair on the bathroom floor. Items left all over the pool area and just general lack of upkeep of the area at all.

The hotel is in dire need of updating. I stayed one night. The hotel itself is dark and dingy. The carpets throughout the hotel were very dirty and worn. The room was dated and the carpet was disgusting- there red stains on the carpet - looked like blood - so gross. Behind the night stand were spatters of blood. It was just gross - I couldn’t even take a shower there. I wanted to watch TV - the screen was broken. I just tried to sleep a few hours and got up and left. The only positive was the reception staff. They were very pleasant. Not sure about housekeeping - I wasn’t there long enough to meet them. I would not recommend staying here.

Location was close to shopping and food. The hotel is dated which is understandable however the bathroom was not clean. The floor needs to be mopped and the walls wiped down. On Sat the breakfast area was dirty, and on Sunday it was nice. I noticed there were two different workers. The guy that checked me in was great but the girl that checked me out not so much. With consistency with the staff and cleanliness this place could be better.

There was pubic hair all over the shower and bathroom floor,and onion peels on the floor by the coach

Hotel room was very nice! The bathroom was beautiful. Nice and clean with a very roomy shower. Only problem was the air conditioning system which was quite noisy making it difficult to sleep.

My only complaint is that I was not able to get a signal strong enough on my computer to attend a zoom session.

Hotel is nice, rooms are a decent size, but set up oddly. There was a TV mounted to a table that was positioned in such a way that you couldn't really watch it from bed or from the living room area, since it didn't swivel enough in either direction to fully see the screen. The mirror in the common area was visibly dirty. Other than those things, the place was fine. Staff was super nice and breakfast was decent as well.

The rooms are small. The living room and bedroom are divided by a wall. At the end of the wall is a dresser with a t v. The only t v for both rooms to share. You can only watch t v in one room at a time.Because you have to turn the t v towards the living room or towards the bedroom. It would have been nice if both rooms had a TV. So that if you were in the living room using the sofa bed and the bedroom, you could see a tv. Need to upgrade phone and alarm clock. Very clean. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast was average nothing special. Check out time is twelve o'clock. THE CLEANING LADY WAS KNOCKING ON MY DOOR AT TEN FORTY FIVE.TELLING ME TO CHECK OUT. MENTIONED THIS WHEN I WAS CHECKING OUT AT ELEVEN O'CLOCK. CONCERNS WERE VERY LOW.

I wasn't fond of the bed size (was told that they would be queen sized and they were full) and the pillows weren't very supportive. Otherwise the room was nice, and laid out in an interesting way.

Clean, breakfast is decent. Walls are thin and we had two nights of difficulty with loud neighbors. One was just a loud TV until 3 am. Another was rowdy football team.

Room was very clean. I liked having control of the room temperature and fan. I liked the separate sitting room and little kitchen area. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Nice place. Will stay again.

Everything was great except the couch was very uncomfortable and the TV was oddly positioned in the room. You either had to angle it toward the very uncomfortable couch, or toward the bed and then position yourself at an angle to see it. Don’t understand why you would place a tv on a table smack dab in between two rooms, and have to walk around it and then struggle to find a place for your luggage

Paint peeling in the tub and big cracks in the tile wall. Lots of late night noise from other guests.

We (my husband, me, and two young kids) booked this hotel over a month before our stay with hotels.com. We received emails from the hotel and everything about our stay. When it was time to check in, we were told they were overbooked and that they paid for us for a room at another hotel. The other hotel had the pool closed by the time we got there (the whole reason we booked with Springhill Suites was the pool) and the next morning was a nightmare- breakfast was closed earlier than we had planned for (because again Springhill Suites had later breakfast then the place they sent us ) and the morning crew at the new hotel was trying to make us pay for our stay that Springhill Suites had said they covered for us ! This whole process was ridiculous and unprofessional - we planned our whole day around being able to use the pool at night and a later breakfast but Springhill Suites couldn’t even do us the courtesy of calling us to let us know that they overbooked themselves.

Very comfortable and clean, Check in was a little bumpy because they were having an issue with keys and the girl at front desk had to manually open doors until issue was fixed but she handled it quickly and apologized for the line at the desk. We had a good stay and Cracker Barrel was very convenient. Breakfast was typical but fine . Will stay again

Checked in at around 12:20am. Not a soul to be seen. Called and front desk phone just rang. After like 15 to 20 minutes a lady pops up with an attitude after I kept on asking for assistance. I heard noise in back office, but nobody came out until after i let the phone ring. The overnight person looked like she just woke up, but she said she came from upstairs yet she came out from back office. Not sure if back stairway and office is connected. Then after checking in she tells me I have to move my car because there is construction that morning. Meanwhile the front of the lo where she wanted me to move from was full of cars. Not sure why the other 20 cars didnt have to move or why they didnt shield off area where they dont want customers to park.

This is the second time I have stayed at this Hotel while attending a Concert in Richmond, Va. The front desk staff was professional and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable, thanks !!

The staff was professional,friendly and went above and beyond to help me sort out a reservation issue. This is not the first time my husband and I have stayed at this hotel and we will continue to do so in the future.

Upon checking in after a very long car ride there was no staff at the check in counter for 15-20 minutes. About 5 families were waiting this time. There was a sign that staff was helping a customer. Which is fine and not her fault at all but a hotel like this should have more than one person working. The lobby bathrooms were absolutely disgusting with very clogged toilets in both the men’s and woman bathrooms. Noise level was loud. And the sink water had a very strong sulfur taste and smell. The complimentary breakfast was very nice with a lot of options.

Clean spacious rooms in a quiet business park setting. Hotel is good. Just a couple odd ball people at the gas station and in the parking lot at night seemed weird.

The front desk staff were very friendly, and the room worked well for our family. We were disappointed, however, by the breakfast situation. Many items were missing (e.g., peanut butter, forks, napkins), and the oatmeal was uncooked (oats in water, rather than oatmeal). The coffee ran out and was not refilled for some time. We tried asking the staff member to replenish a couple times, and it didn't happen. When I came back in the afternoon to the hotel, I made myself a tea, but the water was lukewarm.

The property personal was very helpful, but the breakfast wasn't good, it seems overcooked, not enough personal to help setup the breakfast area. I probably won't stay again.

The property was very nice, safe, clean in an great area, wonderful staff! However, the breakfast was horrific, the worst I have ever had, powdered eggs, tasteless cheap sausage, no flavored waffles. We have had better at 3 star hotels, this should be addressed quickly, I suggest you taste the food you're serving! We dumped in the trash and went to Denny's. Sometimes you get what you don't pay for. This would have been a great stay, if the breakfast was better, we hope this is addressed, we come often to Richmond and would like to make this our go to hotel!!

The breakfast area on Saturday 8/16/25 was about as gross and messy as I've EVER seen a place. Food everywhere, trash overflowing. The coffee station was in shambles. People are awful

Front desk staff was friendly and courteous. Room was very clean. Bed was quite comfortable. Hotel was quiet so easy to sleep. Breakfast were good with adequate selection s. Not the absolute best I've had but certainly above average.

This is a wonderful hotel just off of the busy roads nearby so it is quiet. There is plenty of parking, a sundry shop, an inside pool with a private outdoor terrace. There is a great free breakfast included with a good variety of hot and cold food. Staff were very friendly and service focused. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are visiting Richmond.
