The hotel is well situated for exploring York but it is in quite bad condition. The front is shabby with long grass and it all just need a a good tidy. The room was in pretty poor nick, the door kept getting stuck on the carpet strip. But the worse was when we came back to the room in the evening, the bathroom stank of sewage, it was awful trying to brush our teeth with the smell in there and it smelt all the next morning. I understand it’s a budget room but it was an awful smell to have to be around for so long. Myself and my wife also had to help a lady who couldn’t speak much English try and check in, it was not that late on in the day but there is no staff present so she had to try and check in over the phone and wait for a call back. It was an awkward situation for her but luckily we were there to help her in. Parking was easy though, and the bed was comfy but I doubt very much I would stay again

Clean comfoftable accommodation but i was given a room on top floor.3 flights of steep stairs.Had to use my phone to book in.No breakfast despite being mentioned on hotels.com.No suggestion made where to go for breakfast.Wetherspoon is nr the station so over a mile away.A mile walk from city.It was mentioned to be in clifton but was over a mile from clifton sports centre where i wanted to go to watch yorkshire cricket.Had to have the fan on all night as no air conditioning on a very hot day.Room next door vibrated at 3am!They have tried to economise when they could have offered a better service and charged more.Ok for one night only.

Guest house very close to Hospital. Tricky to find on street parking, then you only have 10 mins to get checked in and get a Parking permit issues. Checked in at 14.00, entrance hall full of of bed linen bags ready to picked up... Trip hazard and fire risk in my opinion and didn't seem inviting. Kitchen area when checking in looked very dishevelled and didn't give good impression. Room was clean but various issues including shower room towel rail hanging off, incorrect lamp with sensor in shower room with no way of isolating fan on a night but still having light, curtains looked old and tired and some clips missing, ground floor window had no way of locking slightly open so room was roasting. To be totally honest, we wouldn't stay there again. It was £107 per night but probably worth half that. Manageress was very friendly and helpful though... Property just nerds a bit of TLC maintenance wise.

I spoke to the hotels.com online agent and was told I’d get a phone call about my complaint, I didn’t. I am going to get my money back because this place isn’t fit for purpose. Absolutely disgusting hygiene and service when we arrived was awful, we had to walk out and spend more money on a premier inn (which was excellent might I add) absolutely disgusted at the idea that a hotel like that would be even advertised on your website, and then even more disgusted that when told I’d get a phone call from you ive been left in the dark. I will be on the phone Monday morning, from one unhappy customer.

Nice guest house by York hospital about 20 minutes from the tourist attractions like York minister and York dungeons only down side I had was had to phone up to get into room when if they send a email with keypad code the night before or in the morning they wouldn't have a problem and a bit of mold in bathroom on the roof by shower outh then that very nice guesthouse

Text received to change my accommodation 3 hours after I was due to check in. Not where I originally booked. Ended up 15 minutes out of Town. Light curtains with a streetlight outside made the room like daylight all night. Adequate facilities. Luke warm shower . Otherwise ok.

This accommodation didn’t appear to be very posh and the room looked a bit dull BUT the beds were very comfortable, there was perfect silence during the night and the internet WiFi worked( despite a glitch at first possibly due to my own input or lots of others using it. To be honest this is a lot better than in the usual well known chain hotels that cost at least twice the price. Yup ! We were very happy with everything and a big THANK YOU to those responsible for this place.

Slightly complicated check in process with nobody on site and having to call a mobile number. However, once I was in everything was very clear. My room was up 2 very steep sets of stairs. It was compact but clean, with a small ensuite. The shower pressure was very weak unfortunately, but otherwise the room was excellent value for money. I especially appreciated being able to leave my luggage, and when I came back, I had a very friendly welcome. The hotel is an easy 15/20 minute walk to the centre of York, and although it's on a main road, I didn't hear any traffic. I'll stay again.

Yes it was ok for a nights sleep. Not the ritz but much cheaper than others. I struggled a little getting door lock codes but I would stay again as it worked ok for us.

Nice guest house by York hospital about 20 minutes from the tourist attractions like York minister and York dungeons only down side I had was had to phone up to get into room when if they send a email with keypad code the night before or in the morning they wouldn't have a problem and a bit of mold in bathroom on the roof by shower outh then that very nice guesthouse

Clean comfoftable accommodation but i was given a room on top floor.3 flights of steep stairs.Had to use my phone to book in.No breakfast despite being mentioned on hotels.com.No suggestion made where to go for breakfast.Wetherspoon is nr the station so over a mile away.A mile walk from city.It was mentioned to be in clifton but was over a mile from clifton sports centre where i wanted to go to watch yorkshire cricket.Had to have the fan on all night as no air conditioning on a very hot day.Room next door vibrated at 3am!They have tried to economise when they could have offered a better service and charged more.Ok for one night only.

There is no staff. I am from Japan. I did not take the phone number. But my daughter had the phone number so we could check-in. If you came here without the phone I would not recommend it. Also, I would recommend this hotel. It is quite far from the city if you would like to see Central.

Slightly complicated check in process with nobody on site and having to call a mobile number. However, once I was in everything was very clear. My room was up 2 very steep sets of stairs. It was compact but clean, with a small ensuite. The shower pressure was very weak unfortunately, but otherwise the room was excellent value for money. I especially appreciated being able to leave my luggage, and when I came back, I had a very friendly welcome. The hotel is an easy 15/20 minute walk to the centre of York, and although it's on a main road, I didn't hear any traffic. I'll stay again.

First both the phone no were off, so I had to try WhatsApp to call and get the details on how to enter the house. This should have come as soon as booking is confirmed, unfortunately it did not. The room is a tiny box, can't move without bumping on things. Only a kid can shower in the walk in shower There were only 1 tea spoon in a double occupancy Only 1 water bottle

You telephone on arrival for instructions to park in a side street if there is space (first come first served), we got a bit lost trying to find the parking area and had to call a few times but got there in the end and luckily there was space. You telephone again when you get to the door of the property for the code to get in and staff talk you through where your room is, where your key card is and how to use the door locking/unlocking panel. Room was a bit tired but clean. Peeling paper on ceiling, mattress felt a bit springy and old, few marks on walls, TV had a line across the screen but was still watchable and had streaming apps enabled. Tea and coffee facilities with biscuits and easy refills from entrance hall. Bathroom small with a sloped shelf you couldn't put anything on as it slipped straight off! Shower itself was a good power shower, however bathroom furniture quite old and tired, marks on wall and shower tray discoloured. Overrall a good enough, cheap and clean place to stay. Don't expect luxury but its affordable and fine if you just want a place to crash.

For a budget property like this, expectations need to be pretty low. BUT, this is not too far from the city centre, and it’s a really good price for what you get. The room may be shabby and outdated but it is large, clean enough, the bed is very comfortable with nice and clean bedding. And lots of extras you don’t always find at this price - an ensuing bathroom (with bath), windows in both space, a room large enough to practice yoga, kettle and decent tea facilities, and a communal kitchen. Checking was easy even at 10pm (I was talked through the system by a lady on the end of the phone), and the whole experience was seamless. What’s more, it’s a very quiet location being set back from the road and I slept well here. I would recommend, and would stay again.
