Americas Best Value Inn Saint Ignace

I specifically called this hotel to verify if there was laundry facilities, as I was leading a motorcycle tour, and we needed to be able to wash clothes. They said yes, and claimed other amenities we also wanted (hot tub, breakfast, etc) but when we arrived, both of their washers had out of order signs. So I asked management, they claimed to not be aware they were broken (rather suspicious) and he said he’d contact the maintenance person immediately to fix it, and let me know when it was done. Our group then went to eat, came back, and not only did that manager not notify me, all they did was lock the laundry room and put a sign “closed for the season “. The “hot tub” was also broken (no jets worked), was only 2/3 full, dirty, and not hot. The “breakfast “ was basically toast and horrible coffee, the rooms were not clean, mattresses very cheap and hard, linens were horrible. I notified the manager that we were upset, he couldn’t care less. Read the most recent reviews online, for months when they get 1 star reviews, they say thank you for the feedback, but haven’t fixed anything previous travelers have complained about. It’s strange, since we stayed in another from your chain in Newberry the night before, it was worlds better than this dump. I’ll never choose any of your hotels again for any group trips, or personal trips, etc. it was disgusting.

Hot tub was just a warm bath, with 2 jets working. Breakfast was something to be desired Overall not a horrible stay.

Breakfast was sad, disappointing. You can do better. Was looking forward to the hot tub to be grossed out by the hair and whatever else that was stuck to the side. Was hoping for better.

Staff is very nice. Rooms are clean with very clean bedding and very comfortable. A/C works great. Pool was great and also warm. Pool area was clean and fully stocked with towels at all times. Breakfast was nice. If you’re on the first floor with someone above you will hear every footstep but being parked five feet from your room is nice. Cigarette butts everywhere in gardens and walkways and road.

Clean rooms. Good breakfast. The laundry facilities were very clean and much appreciated! Three dollars for wash and three dollars to dry. I would definitely stay there again as it’s a great location and a very reasonable price for what you get.

The pool and hot tub were great! The temperatures were perfect! Parking was super convenient. Our stay was nice and quiet.

They allowed multiple cars with trailers to park in the parking lot so it was very difficult to find a parking spot after 9pm. Had to walk quite far.

I had one of the worst hotel experiences ever. The place was extremely run-down, smelled awful, and felt like it hadn’t been properly cleaned or maintained in years. The building is very old and in desperate need of renovation. From the moment I walked in, I was overwhelmed by the musty odor and general lack of care. It honestly felt more like a neglected storage facility than a place to sleep. I wouldn’t stay here again even if it were free. Save yourself the disappointment and book elsewhere.

Both the sink and shower drained VERY slowly...needs Drano or to be plunged. Found a ball of hair in the shower that was supposedly clean. Tub appeared not to have been cleaned. I didn't use it to shower, but my friend did. Very limited breakfast selections. Continental usually implies a selection of breads, pastries, etc., and fruit. No fruit, only white bread, and mini-bagels. Short window of availability, 7-9 am, for week days.

My room was exceptionally clean. The furnishings seemed dated, but that didn't bother me. The bathroom and shower area sparkled!

This is my 3rd time coming here and my room has always been extremely clean! I stay at a lot of motels but none of them beat this one when it comes to room cleanliness.

Rooms and pool area should be cleaner.

Place was extremely dirty. Bugs and spiders, only one bar of soap. Dirty carpet. Bed was clean but thats about it. Walls are paper thin and i could hear everything outside and in surrounding rooms. Dont waste your money.

Room hot tub was clean; however, the shower was a simple handheld, there were blood stains on the shower curtain, and dead flies/spiders in the shower. The room was a throwback to 1980. The heater/AC sounded like a freight train. Bathroom sink was so old, it was no longer white, and room corners were quite dusty. Did appreciate the bottle opener on the face of the vanity though. Mattress was old and not super comfy. Check in staff was pleasant.

Bathroom and room were clean, just outdated. We would have liked a microwave in the room but we were happy there was a refrigerator. Great guy at the front desk. We wish there had been half and half for morning coffee, not fans of powder creamer. But overall we had a good experience.

Great room best jetted tub!

Check in was super quick, the room was super basic. It was fine for the one night stay for my family because we were only there for a few awake hours. It smelled like old smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. The door deadbolt didn’t work. The mattress was surprisingly not super uncomfortable, despite it feeling like a spring mattress from 20 years ago. Staff was super friendly though. Overall, if I had to stay again I wouldn’t be devastated but it’s nothing to write home about.

The restroom and bath set up very inconveniently set up, the front door frame needs to be replaced, it was very hard to open and close. The outside sidewalk in front of our room had cracks that were filled at some point and that might be why the door is not in good working order.

The room was ok. The door key worked half the time. Had to jiggle the door handle to get in. Some time it won't open had to call the maintenance to come open it.

Our original room had no water pressure, hot water for the shower and the shower had not been cleaned. The manager was able to put us in a different room that was clean with water pressure and hot water in the shower. We have have stayed here every time we come to St. Ignace over the years but with this experience we probably will not be staying here again.

Easy check in

This hotel was good for a quick decision to get away for a couple of days. We did have an issue with our door not locking and the maintenance man came over in a short while tried to fix it. He had no luck, so he ran over and check with the clerk to get us a new room. Very nice and cordial man.

The gentleman at the desk was great and friendly. The room was really clean and comfortable

The guests in the rooms above us were loud until after 11pm. There was a constant banging on the ceiling of our room. When I called the front desk to complain they apologized and said they would address it, but the noise continued. Very disappointed. Our friends had a similar experience the previous night.

The people running the hotel seemed very friendly. The room was clean, and quiet! The rooms are very dated, but everything worked fine and we had a great time! We would stay here again!

Upon checking in the host was very rude, was in line for over 20 mins. He did not welcome my family and I. When entering into the room it was very dark, so i went tonopen the curtains and the windows were filthy and the cutains had white mold all over them. You had to adk for soap as it was not proveded. We attempted to go to the pool, but hlthere were no towels and it looked like it hadnt been cleaned in week. Was very bummed that they only served breakfast for 2 hrs. The hand rails going upstairs were very loose and week, not safe at all.

Check-in was quick. The room was clean. The mattress made my back hurt by morning.

This motel is a good overnight stay for anyone travelling through the St. Ignace area. The rooms are somewhat dated but clean and comfortable. They are a good value for their price. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

The area is near the lakeshore, it is within walking distance to restaurants

I have a family of 9, so we needed 2 rooms. This was an affordable location, and the continental breakfast also helped keep the cost down for our family trip. Rooms were simple but clean. Hotel is in a great location to visit either the UP or Mackinaw City/Island.

The area and location is good. Parking is kind of tight. No room service fornfresh towels unless requested upon check in. Rooms could use a update.

This place was disappointing. They have not kept this place up. It was very nosiy with people above us. However, it was convenient for us as we traveled to Mackinaw Island. There are great places to eat in St. Ignace that are close by.

Nice location. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Nice view of sunrise over Lake Huron. Reasonable rate. Fridge with good size freezer a plus. Restaurant within walking distance. Overall, decidedly above average.

Check in was fine. The room had zero amenities as “they are shared by the property and may be an additional charge”. Breakfast was a joke. Stale bread and bagels. The single serve peanut butter was so old the oil could t be stirred back in. The apple juice had zero flavor. Bathroom had no grout and a loose tile. Shower had hug gaps in caulk including around the faucet handle. No housekeeping. This place has gone way way down hill.

This was an Ok Hotel. Decent Room. We enjoyed the pool the jacuzzi was very foamy and scum along the walls. Breakfast was sparse. Employees were nice.

Continental breakfast notation should be eliminated from facility description - continental breakfast items at 7:15 am consisted of white bread, a pancake maker and juice - did not consume the continental breakfast. Towels were thin. Curtain hems shredded. Pillows thin. Staff very responsive when 2nd night room cancellation was necessary due to a sudden change in my plans.

Well, the check-in was fine. The room was just okay, not fancy. My bed had huge "dips" in the mattress, all the way across the bed. Whatever detergent they use irritated my skin, I was itchy all night. I ended up covering myself with a shirt over my nightgown and t-shirts around my legs. The breakfast room is small and so crowded we didn't eat there. The laundry room is small, but it was clean. I paid a premium price because of an event at the time of my stay.
