Having spent two nights at Swarga I couldn’t be happier! The hotel is bang in the centre of historical Kathmandu with lots of sight, restaurants and shopping around. The hotel is very beautiful, clean and friendly and my room, the heritage suite, was nothing short of spectacular. Incredibly clean, stylish and modern but still very authentic and traditional. The hotel is an oasis in the bustle of Kathmandu with a lovely courtyard offering shade and tranquility. The breakfast/brunch was freshly made to order and was of excellent quality. All members of staff were super courteous and very friendly and helpful. All in all I had two great nights at Swarga and look forward to returning soon again!

My daughter and I have just had a great few days at the Swarga Heritage hotel. The location is great (close enough for easy access to central Thamel but a bit quieter). The hotel itself is very clean and has a lovely courtyard where we enjoyed a good breakfast each morning. We also liked the fact the hotel is full of Nepali art & furniture and the bedding, toiletries, etc were made Nepal too. We also got some helpful messages from Rahul (the owner) with ideas of things to do and places to eat locally in Kathmandu. Finally, a special mention for the staff (front desk, restaurant and cleaning) all of whom were especially welcoming and helpful. Thank you!

If you were considering booking, don’t even second-guess it. I stayed for one night upon arriving to Kathmandu and cannot recommend it highly enough. I was traveling from the United States to Nepal for the first time and Rahul was in contact with me for multiple days before my arrival and arranged for a driver to pick me up at the airport. The actual hotel is beautiful, super clean, and the staff is amazingly helpful and friendly. The heritage breakfast and cappuccino was excellent, especially when you get to enjoy it in the courtyard. I will definitely be staying again!

This hidden gem of a hotel is an absolute must to stay at. Tucked away out of the hustle and bustle, and yet still so close that you just walk around the corner and you’re amongst the vibrancy of Thamel. The cleanliness of the premises was immaculate and the staff were so warm and friendly that it felt like I had known them for a long time. The Owner Rahul has done an amazing job of delivering an outstanding property that I will be highly recommending to any traveller that is heading to Kathmandu. Rahul was in constant contact sharing his places to see, eat and most of all, how to get around and back safely. We loved every moment here, the breakfast was so generous and a free barista made coffee along with it was the cherry on top!

We returned to the Swarga after staying at other bigger hotels and immediately enjoyed the more personal feel of a smaller hotel. The interior with genuine Nepalese artefacts and the delightful courtyard for breakfast make for a charming and relaxing ambiance. The excitement of old Kathmandu is just around the corner, yet the hotel itself is an oasis of calm and quiet. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. We would certainly return here.

Stayed here for a week and had no complaints! Lovely decorated hotel with lots of natural light in the room. It has a heater/air con and good hot water. Staff are lovely and so helpful. They even helped me wrap a sari one day. Breakfasts were great. It’s on the edge of Thamel far of a walk. My only issue an it is not just this hotel but there is no option to refill water bottles. They and others give you two big bottles per day which is horrible for the environment. Wish this hotel and others would take the lead and do better around this. Otherwise highly recommend this hotel.

This is a truly authentic Nepalese hotel with original antique pieces. The hotel is super clean and the staff is very helpful. The location could not be better, situated on a quiet road but only a minute walk from the busy streets of Thamel. You can have your breakfast for lunch which I particularly appreciated as I do not like eating in the mornings. Thank you.

Was very excited to stay at the property due to it's history and heritage. It has a lovely courtyard and is decorated nicely throughout. The messages from the owner before and during stay were a nice tough - I do wish the same kind of conversation and care could have flowed from reception staff though. Lastly the value for money is outstanding. The room was comfortable but the bathroom was just a bit too basic to be comfortable for us - would spend a little more next time just for that and to have a quieter room at night (had to wear ear plugs from our previous hotel in India to drown out the street noises).

Stayed here for a week and had no complaints! Lovely decorated hotel with lots of natural light in the room. It has a heater/air con and good hot water. Staff are lovely and so helpful. They even helped me wrap a sari one day. Breakfasts were great. It’s on the edge of Thamel far of a walk. My only issue an it is not just this hotel but there is no option to refill water bottles. They and others give you two big bottles per day which is horrible for the environment. Wish this hotel and others would take the lead and do better around this. Otherwise highly recommend this hotel.

The staff was so helpful arranging a guide and driver for us and so many helpful suggestions. The complimentary ala carte brunch was wonderful. There were so many choices and the food was delicious. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place.

I am an incredible stay at Swarga Heritage Hotel. I was kindly upgraded to the premium Queen for my stay and it was beautifully decorated and incredibly clean. The hotel staff and the owner/architect Rahul were incredibly kind and hospitable during my stay. They helped to organize a pick up from the airport and a private tour of Kathmandu. The owner Rahul was very communicative over whatsapp and helped me to find great restaurants and sights to see around the city. They also offer a fantastic breakfast in the mornings as well. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, I can't recommend this place enough and am looking forward to returning during future visits in Kathmandu.

Everything was great! The owner started reaching out once I booked the hotel. Days before my arrival there were multiple arounds of helpful information. I also booked the driver service with them. I felt welcomed upon arrival and the staff were all eager to help. The tour guide I hired through them was certified national Guide that can speak multiple languages. I used him for all my tours. I feel I can communicate with the owner any needs and he will accommodate me. My trip to Nepal has been such a pleasure due to the hotel. My daughter loves the breakfast here. And shopping and other restaurants are all so close!

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The communication and assistance was above and beyond. Rahul sent a lot of helpful information ahead of time and was able to help arrange us a driver day of to take us around the sites. The breakfast food and espresso drinks were delicious and you can feel the culture in the rooms itself. We loved our stay here and highly recommend!

This hidden gem of a hotel is an absolute must to stay at. Tucked away out of the hustle and bustle, and yet still so close that you just walk around the corner and you’re amongst the vibrancy of Thamel. The Owner Rahul has done an amazing job of delivering an outstanding property that I will be highly recommending to any traveller that is heading to Kathmandu. This is a truly authentic Nepalese hotel with original antique pieces. The hotel is super clean and the staff is very helpful. The location could not be better, situated on a quiet road but only a minute walk from the busy streets of Thamel. You can have your breakfast for lunch which I particularly appreciated as I do not like eating in the mornings. Thank you.

My daughter and I have just had a great few days at the Swarga Heritage hotel. The location is great (close enough for easy access to central Thamel but a bit quieter). Absolutely fantastic hotel in the heart of Kathmandu. Could not fault the service and overall experience. It is a tranquil haven in the busyness of Kathmandu. Perfect location and easy walking distance from the Durbar. Breakfast was also delicious. Could not recommend staying here enough.

Staff very helpful and the owner reached out to offer suggestions about shopping and answering any other question you might have. Breakfast was included and quite good except for the bread which was not to our taste…quite dry even with butter. However a very minor point. We loved the fresh seasonal fruit juice on offer which more than made up for it. In the Thamel district so very close to Durbar Square and shopping for that perfect Nepali souvenir. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, a peaceful oasis in the heart of bustling Thamel. The hotel's cafe opens into the courtyard and deserves a special mention—it quickly became one of my favorite spots! The cappuccino was, without a doubt, the best I think I've ever had, and the entire breakfast menu offered delicious options. I highly recommend Swarga Heritage Hotel to anyone seeking a high-quality, serene, and thoroughly enjoyable stay in Kathmandu.

Once we found the hotel- it was great. Super nice staff and breakfast was served from 6:30am - 2:30pm!! Great breakfast and nice air conditioned room.

We loved our stay at the Central Courtyard! Great location with fantastic walkability to numerous Thamel sites and restaurants and the staff was excellent. We stayed in the Traditional loft (the one that is in all of the pictures with the desk and the long bench, I think room 107). The room was clean, spacious and air conditioned, and the king size bed was very very comfortable. As some reviewers have mentioned, there is definitely noise from the alley, but everything is quiet during sleeping hours from 10-7am, especially if you pull the curtains. As long as you're not the type of person that likes to sleep in, the noise is very manageable. The bathroom is very small, and we wished there was an extra shelf on the wall and some more hooks for toiletries. The floor also tends to become wet from the shower, although it dries quickly. The water was nice and hot with good water pressure. We loved the included morning breakfast, and they make a very good latte. The best thing about this hotel though is the staff--they were incredibly helpful and kind, helped with taxis and restaurant recommendations. Would definitely stay here again!
