Motel 6-Elko, NV

It's quiet! We were traveling across the country, and needed a pet-friendly room. This room was perfect! It was clean and didn't have any residual animal odors that our pets would have detected. It was on the main road, but set back far enough that we didn't hear anything at night. A fantastic price, and a comfortable, secure room.

Property is under renovation. Parking lot is torn up for paving, rooms smelled badly of cigarettes even though they are nonsmoking. Would not stay here again.

I will not stay there again. The ice machine was broke down half of the time, AIR CONDUCHINER WAS WEAKEN WATER.

Website said it had a pool, it was covered and closed. Room was not very clean, shower stall dirty, hair ect. Furniture unkept scratched, holes patched and not painted, ants coming in from door, big gap around door frame, not sealed, poor selection of TV channels, very poor picture quality, no shampoo or lotion, had to go to the store and buy. It appears they are remodeling rooms, i hope the section I stayed in is getting done, I'm not sure what their other rooms are like but I wouldn't stay there again.

Their parking lot n buildings were under construction. Not mentioned on website it was hard to get back out of the property. Did not stay there as there was no where to park. So this is also why I didn’t rate the staff n service.

The property must be under construction because the entire parking lot is dug out. The pool is drained making the place appear like a scary movie. In our room there was a fist sized hole in the bathroom door that one can only assume it was from a loving honeymoon. The smoke detector was removed with wires hanging from the ceiling… the place just screamed safety!!

The pool was not open or filled even though it was mid July. The rooms were newly-renovated and clean but very small. The bed was ok, not super comfortable.

They offer a pool, their pool is waiting for parts that they haven’t been able to locate. So it isn’t kid friendly and while traveling with kids that is a must after being in the car for 8 hours!

I expected no frills, noisy, etc for the price. However, the bathroom sink and shower was dirty with scum and mold, and the toilet was dirty with stains. Floor was also gritty and stuck to my feet.

Was pretty dirty inside and out. lots of dog poop around property . Door did not lock or stay shut without slamming it. Was not very well maintained property. The appliances didn’t work and shower was broken .

The best thing about this property was its location and the fact it had an abundance of hot water. The staff was fair, but not very proactive about customer requests. In the room, the beds were very hard and the room needed maintenance. The desk lamp was broken and never fixed. The floor was filthy and the whole room was dusty and shabby. Pets were allowed, but they pooped everywhere. One pooped in front of our room and it was there until we left. The same was true of the surrounding artificial grass. I would not spend the night there again and my stay was for five nights. Instead of keeping the light on as advertised, they need to keep it off.

1st room given wasn’t cleaned. And smelled like cigarettes and had an overall weird odor, 2nd room had a weird odor as well and the shower had cracks in the floor and hole in the wall. Rooms look run down for being renovated.

Check in was great but room was very dirty shower and sink i had to reclean before we could use it. Flooring was really dirty would not take my socks off bed was comfy and clean you would think for wanting a $100 deposit it would be a lot better. Windows were very dirty

Very clean hotel. It’s under a new management and they are remodeling the entire hotel . Very clean. We stayed in the remodeled rooms. Everything new. Mattress very comfortable. Bedsheets and towels super clean.

The room was filthy, floors and walls had food? splatter and literally chunks of the same stuck to the walls and floor.Does not appear that housekeeping had swept or mopped the floors nor did they clean up from the previous 'guest'. Spoke with the desk clerk and she didn't seem surprised not did she offer any real condolences. Will NEVER stay at Motel 6 again.

The check in person was nice but the room was not clean. I could see something under the sheets on the bed and when I pulled it back, the mattress cover had lots of stuff on it, like wood chips, dirt, little bits of trash, just not clean. I called to see if they could change the mattress cover but they couldn’t because housekeeping was no longer there. The floor was also filthy based on how dirty our socks got after walking around for a few minutes. The mini fridge worked well and even had a small freezer section which was nice. There was a lot of noise during the night from people outside and a car alarm going off in the middle of the night. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Good, basic motel. Lobby coffee. All the necessities. Soft, Comfortable bed. Wall unit for heat/ac. Shower is a corner stall unit with curtain, good water pressure. Wanted upper level room so our room had 2 beds tightly fitted up against the walls so we just slept in separate beds. Room chair was hard plastic under writing area. Had some light leakage through the curtains from outer stairway security lighting. Property was well attended by friendly staff. Area was quiet. Room looks to have been remodeled with new flooring, platform beds, fresh paint, etc.. I’d stay here again.

Front desk guy told me that my room is two queen size bed. But it was two full size and it wasn't too small for 3 adults. Shower space was to o small.

Receptionist was great. TV would turn off. Then turn back on by itself. All night long. Was irritating

Very comfortable, clean and quiet. Internet was not strong enough to use TV enjoyably and room could have used a trash bin for used Kleenex.

The TV is below standards. It's low-resolution and there's no channel guide. There may be a digital HR available but it doesn't seem to be there.

Air conditioning did not work in Room 113.

Quick stop on my way to someplace else. The bed was comfortable check-in was quick. The room is OK. The traffic outside is very loud. The blackout drapes was just say blackout is not a good word for it. I woke up and thought it was noon, but it was only seven from the light in my room. It’s nice to have a refrigerator in the microwave. I greatly appreciated that TV. Took a few minutes to figure out how to work overall it did when I needed it to do in a pinch.

A/C did not work they gave me a fan that you put ice in.

There's no shampoo of conditioner in the bathrooms, just soap. When I stay at this hotel, lighting is often burned out and light bulbs don't work. Noisy, so it's difficult to sleep because people suck.

I stayed for 1 night. The ice machine is broken. I asked for a 1st floor room & there where none. Thats fine, my bad knee & I will make it up to the second floor. Rm 208. That room had a hole in the bathroom door, the fan cover was falling off, it was dark with no overhead light, just a backlight on the headboard & the bathroom. I also could not lock the deadbolt. I get another room, 210. The room is a little better, except instead of a backlight, it is a desk lamp. There is some minor construction noise outside but with the tv i can drown it out. I eat dinner & call it a night at 8pm. At midnight SOMEONE OPENED MY DOOR! I thought i had the deadbolt locked but i guess not fully. The slider bar was the only thing keeping them out of my room. I panic & reached for my phone, its dead! I reach for the house phone & THERE ISNT ONE! I sit & panic. The person is now gone without saying a word. I want to pack & leave but i am too tried to make my drive. I boobytrap the door, actually lock the deadbolt, & finally fall back to sleep 2 hours later. I wake up early, pack my stuff & checked out before 6am. The same guy that checked me in 14 hours ago is there, i tell him of the situation, & he was like, 210? Yeah, sorry that was me looking for towels. I forgot i put someone in that room. You couldnt identify yourself when you realized someone was in there? Sorry... I don't care if this is the cheapest room in town. I will never stay here again for the main reason of I felt super unsafe.

Staff was prompt and friendly. Check in was quick and easy. Rooms were clean and air conditioning worked great.

The lady in the office that checked us in was very polite. But the next morning we gathered our towels and hopes of at least getting clean towels. Nobody entered our room. The next morning before leaving, I stopped in the office and asked for them to please come in and change the sheets and give us clean towels as we had went to the mountains the night before and my grandkids dirty feet had caused dirt to be on the sheets. The lady in the office said no problem it’ll be done by time we got back. She was very rude about it. Half the hotel was under construction, so there was not as many rooms as normal. Upon returning to the hotel at 9 PM a full 12 hours after I left, our room had not been entered. We still had dirty sheets and dirty towels, which were gathered and piled in a corner to make things easier for the housekeeper. Upon going to the front desk to ask if somebody could please bring us clean towels and sheets the desk, Lady was very rude and a person sent to clean our room smelled like they had not showered in over a month. The smell lingered for hours after even with the door open. In the middle of the night, one of the light fixtures dropped down out of the ceiling above where my grandchild was laying. There was no mention on the website of construction or that the pool was empty. Upon exiting and checking out front desk was light yet unforgiving

Received a text the day before confirming the reservation and that they were excited for me. Arrived and they told me the reservation was cancelled and they couldn’t accommodate it. They also didn’t offer any assistance in finding an alternate stay. Just advised to call their 1800 number. Very unprofessional.

I stayed here for the Mine Expo, always a busy time in Elko and hard to get a room. The staff was very accommodating. Expedia overbooked the hotel and cancelled my reservations. The hotel management worked with me and saved me from sleeping in my car or in Wells or Winnemucca. The room was clean and comfortable and I was appreciative. Conveniently located to the freeway and everything that Elko has to offer.

Do NOT stay here. I reserved a room for $50 for one night. I get there, security lock is broken, flies in the room, blood stains on the towels,towel rack broken, refrigerator leaking. I used the towels in the room to clean up the mess. I went to the front office and asked for more towels, and was given some. The next day when I check out I noticed a $100 pending charge from the motel. The front desk said it was a deposit and would be fully refunded when they saw my room was clean. I left it in a good condition. A few days later I noticed the $100 charge posted to my account. I called and the front desk said they charge $25 PER towel. Such utter crap. I was NEVER informed of that, and it doesn't state that anywhere on their website, or any travel websites. My friend who had a room the same night, used all her towels and was refunded the full $100 deposit. I will NEVER stay here again. Oh, my husband called corporate and they said they do NOT charge for towels. The lady at the front desk very rudely denied that and said they do, but NO sign stating that on property.

Clean, comfortable and convenient - my family and I were very pleased with our stay at Motel 6 Elko, NV. The customer service was excellent both on the phone and at check in. We needed a place to crash just for the night and we are so glad we stayed at Motel 6!

First the positives, the staff were friendly and the room was clean. I saw alot of cleaning going on in rooms so it appears they are doing a good job on cleaning. The negatives, and they are huge. I was in my room only about an hour laying on my bed watching TV when someone opened my door and started to walk in my room. This startled me quite a bit as I know I latched my door so whoever it was had a key to my room. When they saw I was in they they immediately left. I put my shoes on and stepped out in time to see the guy walking to the office. I went to the office and asked how someone just walked into my room. Apparently it was a hotel employee and they were checking to see if the room was active. How about you try knocking before you enter a room you aren't sure is occupied. That was completely unacceptable! The other issue I had was that the gap around the door was so big I could see light and the draft was so bad (it was in the 20's) that I had to stuff a towel in the gap to keep the cold air out. For the price there are too many other, better hotels in town so I won't stay there again. The only benefit I could see is if you have a pet there's no extra charge whereas most other hotels charge $15-$20 per pet extra. Other than that I'd stay somewhere else!

Have made many reservations here via Expedia over the last year. The motel is recently under new management now though. At my last visit there the manager refused to acknowledge my reservation had been prepaid through Expedia. After I gave him my credit card for the deposit they charge... he then (without me knowing) charged my card for the the full cost of the reservation. In addition to charging my card without my knowledge, when I asked for a receipt for that charge, I noticed he had forged my signature on the charge. I'm having to dispute the charges with Expedia because the hotel manager is refusing to answer calls from Expedia. I will no longer be making reservations, or will I be staying at this facility. Stay at your own risk...but don't give them access to your credit cards.

The staff was dedicated and friendly. The price was right, it wasn’t too noisy, except for trucks reviving it up on the roadway, and I think I saw multiple hookers at nearby motels. There is also an Albertsons and shopping center across the street for healthy eating.

Quiet no one bothered me easy check in easy check out, close to gas stations food places &. Highway no major complaints

Good place for the money. The room was clean and comfortable, however the furniture and building conditions could use an upgrade which it appears that they are working on. Considering the freeway was right above our room, it was surprisingly quiet. This is by no means a 5 star but very decent. Many of the guests are miners/workers and are staying for long mg term. My only complaint was the inconsiderate guests that showed up our first night and were in the room next to us who decided to be loud and obnoxious both in their room and right outside our door and window at midnight. Finally my husband had enough and had words to shut them up! No issues other than that.

Room Dirty. Made me wait 2 hours for check in bc room had no curtains. Finally got into room and no sheets on bed - had to sleep without any so I used towels. They offered coffee in the morning, but had no cups or creamer. They lied to me about incidental charges and refused to honor my Sr discount claiming it was not the property, but Hotel.com who owed me the 10% discount. I called hotels.com to complain and they have been very helpful yet the property told them I had another night reserved for which they would give me a refund (I had no second night reserved). What a disaster. Ps the pool was closed despite it being advertised as open.

AC did not work, tv did not work after requesting assistance 5 times. No ice available. No bottled water available. I checked out .

It was barely minimally clean, with no ice even if there would have been Ice no bucket no glasses. Help who let you know they could care less, no coffee or anything in the morning. One staff member said O'H we forgot to buy coffee so we don't have any. It was under remodel on the other half of the property but the old half was being rented out. The managers spent most of their time outside smoking. The pool was empty and haad trash in it. We got to look at if from our room while we were there it wasn't a great view.

Cheap motel and you get what you pay for I guess. Rooms were small and didn’t feel thoroughly cleaned (little things like crumbs behind the furniture, stains on the bedcovers, etc). That said, we felt safe, had close proximity to groceries and restaurants, enjoyed the tea and coffee in the lobby, didn’t break the bank, and had a great trip to Elko for the Cowboy Poetry Gathering!

There's no water in the vending machines, only soda and energy drinks. The room was marginally clean.
