Motel 6 Mcallen, TX

The pictures on the Expedia website for this property gave the impression the facility is nicer than what it is. While it suited our needs our socks turned black from walking on the floor without shoes. The place wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great. Seemed like they had random people come use the pool and then leave. The pool water was dirty and cloudy. Check in time was not 2pm as stated on the website but 3pm. The staff was nice and helpful, totally out of their control the property hasn’t been well maintained.

No hot water in shower, cockroaches, wall around the pool falling over.

I loved the staff. They were kind and attentive. I wish the pool was available, but otherwise, everything was great.

When I got there I got a room with NO fridge, no remote, no chairs, no phone. After being there 5 mins or so the light fixture on my side of the bed exploded and sparks flew. I turned off the light switch and called front desk with my cell phone and no answer. So I went to the front and let them know. I was then moved to a "suite" room. This room had a fridge, microwave, phone chairs, room service!

Concrete wall around the pool falling in. Bathroom door not stay closed. No hot water.

Although is an old building the room was clean, however not around the pool and the parking spaces. Al elevator would be helpful. very polite personnel though.

I usually don’t leave reviews but this place was so dirty there is no way it should go unnoticed. Every single corner of the room was dirty. Walls had stains, 2 lights did not work, furniture seemed like it was picked up from the trash or donated from a correctional facility. I have been to plenty Motel 6’s and while they’re not a Hilton or Double tree they are at least clean. DO NOT BOOK HERE.

The matress was very old and it sunk every where i tried to sleep. the floor was dirty , the sheets smell bad. and there were bugs itching.

Terrible , the floor had a hole, smelled nasty, bed bugs, my 4 month old was bitten and also me and his dad, pool was dirty outdated

It was close to the stores and restaurants Walk distance. It was really poor maintenance wasn't clean and had small roaches.

Good and affordable price but our room smelled of smoke and the smell was not able to clear up. It was a non smoking room so I don’t know why it had that smell also tub was dirty

My room was with a terrible cigarrete olor. The hotel didn’t give me other room or option. I never will take this hotel ever.

AC was not cool. Toilet seat was discolored from stains. The smell of smoke in the room was horrible as well

It’s a simple stay if you need to crash for a few hours not worth the price to be honest. The room smelt a bit funky and the bed was uncomfortable. The ac unit made a loud noise like an airplane was taking off each time it turned not exaggerating. If you’re heavy sleeper you will be alright but if you’re not good luck.

Bed felt uncomfortable because it felt like the springs inside the bed were not working. On the ledt side of the bed it sunk in making sleeping very uncomfortable

It is a good stay but in the non smoking room, the smoke still came in to bath room and make up room. The WIFI very week!

We stayed at room 209. The air conditioning is not working properly and we felt room was not fresh enough despite the AC was set to 61 degrees and was not cooling enough.

It was very clean. Staff was nice. It did it's job for the price we paid. We needed a place to sleep only as we hardly spent any time during the day there. The bed mattress was very uncomfortable as it seems like it had been used for a good length of time by someone and was very uneven. There was a significant dip in the mattress.

The lady that checked me in so nice wish she was serving her kindness elsewhere. The place needs a lot of attention and people were fighting in the hallway! We have stayed at many Motel 6 nothing like this one. Just don’t say here it was very late and I needed to rest for the next day I had to travel to obtain my license it was down the street where I need to text my text if I would have know I would have stayed elsewhere

The lady in the front desk was extremely rude. Gave us a room where the AC didnt even work. The night staff lady was able to switch rooms for us but the room was still hot.

I loved my stay here. It was affordable, close to everything, and the staff is amazing!!

It was within walking distance to several restaurants and a grocery store.

Very shady people always roaming around. Dirty place and noisy place, very annoying. Hot water doesn't stay hot in the shower. No hot water in sink. Noisy neighbors upstairs and next to me several nights in a row.

No shampoo or haircare products. I booked room with 1 Queen Bed. They gave me room with 2 beds with little room for anything. No refund offered for downgrade. Coffee machine broken.
