Motel 6-Brooklyn Center, MN - Minneapolis

Did not like the undisclosed deposit that we still have been waiting for them to return. Only one working entrance and exit. Noisy.

It was very dirty couldn’t find the microwave they was suppose to be in our room the elevator quit working for a half a day

Ice machine out of order, laundry and all inside out of order. Housekeeping cleaning procedure are horrible

No refrigerator in room, broken ice machine. Very noisy in the morning with slamming of doors. All i did was sleep there, so it was OK for the price and convenient to where i needed to be.

Had problem with room door locks. Elevator was out for 30 minutes. Limited amenities

This place needs to be shut down until they can figure out how to make it safe. Dogs are on the loose, getting detained, elevator never works. The whole building is gross. Homeless people everywhere. I would like a refund because I did not expect this type of experience. Shower is nasty/not cleaned, towels had stains on all of them, room was HORRIBLE. TV barely worked and I will repeat myself. This hotel needs to be condemned for safety reasons.

Receptionist and security guard were rockstars when we arrived at 12am! To no fault of their own the power was knocked out . I don’t like that they didn’t offer me a free room or a refund for my stay! The power didn’t come back unti 9am the next morning! The window in my room was left open and the locks were busted off . We were on the first floor and I didn’t even realize this until we were checking out! The floor under my bed looked like it hadn’t been swept in weeks otherwise the place was pretty clean! I don’t like you can hear a pin drop outside your door I mean u hear every door and every conversation someone is having so very little privacy.

Had to always rescan keycard daily, staff said card tends to get demagatized. Elevator did not work for one whole day. Had an incident where a car scratched my rental in the parking lot. Staff didn't try to help and just say to call on Monday for the supervisor to provide the videos. Staff was very nice but weren't helpful that day. I would consider booking somewhere else.

This stay started out ok. I booked a deluxe room with a fridge and microwave. When I checked in there was no microwave, so we made do with what we had. It was a pet friendly hotel which met our needs. There was a guest laundry on site but it was down for the entire duration of our stay (a little over 2 weeks).Initially extending our stay went smoothly, we paid in advance online, and did everything to make our stay easy on us and easy on the hotel. Partly through our last week the hotel "lost" our reservation which we discovered one night getting our room keys reprogrammed. Eventually we found out that the room had been scheduled for routine maintenance and had been placed out of service , even though our stay had been extended in that room. The manager told us we could stay in our room anyway, and maintenance would do their work after we checked out. The day after we left, I called to ensure our deposit would be released, as we had checked out the night before our reservation was up. The incompetent manager told me that we wouldn't be getting our $75 deposit back as there was "hair" on the blankets and the room had to be down for maintenance. I reminded her that the room was already scheduled for maintenance that had nothing to do with my stay and she told me she wasn't going to argue and hung up on me. She refused to provide a copy of the damage report with any pictures of "damage". I filed complaints with BBB and motel 6 corporate, but people should be aware of the scam.

This hotel is a real dump. Air conditioning did not work anywhere in the hotel. Elevator was placed out of service due to overheating electrical. Main floor lobby was filthy. Hallways were full of dog hair from semi permanent residence. Terribly disappointed. Did it stay at this hotel. We exited as quick as we could. The electrical faults were not the responsibility of the manager, but the cleanliness of the hotel was ,My recommendation would be stay far away.

It was so dirty smelly will be walked in, at end of our stay we found bedbugs in our bed.

The AC at the room didn’t work and the room smelled like cigarette even though it was a non smoking room. The property looked dirty overall.

Hotel needs new carpet in the hallways. Smells disgusting

This is the worst hotel/motel were I’be stayed ever. The room had no A/C. The sheets were dirty. The smell in both inside and outside the room was awful (smelled like weed and garbage). The WiFi was disconnected over and over the entire time. But the worst part of it was the cockroaches in the room. There were everywhere in the floor in the main room and the bathroom. When I told the people in charge they told me there were no other available rooms a d that they were going to fix the A/C and Wifi but they never did. Worst couple of days in a hotel. I’d like to get a full refund of what I paid and please remove this hotel from your catalogue.

The hotel is dirty and the hallways all smell of marajuana. The cleaning staff were not friendly. The room was dirty and there were ants in many places

Spend the extra money and stay at a hotel. Sheets were stained, hallway reeked, stairs smelled like pee. I would avoid staying here.

Had a reservation and tried to get an early check in. The room was destroyed to say the least. We left our stuff in the room while our was being cleaned. When we came back we found several roaches. Pics taken. Got moved into another room, but will definitely not book here again.

The room was dingy, the mattresses were stained, the beds weren't made (we had to make them ourselves, the sheets were just piled up), the soap in the bathroom had already been used. It was gross.

They took a $75 deposit when you checked in that was NOT stated on the website—then when check out takes 3-5 business days to get credited back to account!! No coffee maker or refrigerator or microwave in room. No heater/aircondioner either so slept with window open so heard the highway noise and people yelling all night.

Upgraded room to have a refrigerator and microwave. Was put in a room with neither, and 2 twin beds instead of 1 queen. Desk staff graciously changed our room but new room had no microwave and was freeway side so we were treated to highway noise all night. Smoke detector flashed a bright strobe light every 20 seconds or so. Shower door would not stay closed and air conditioner was so loud when it ran it made the freeway noise seem mild. It was a bed, close to the event we were attending but very underwhelming experience. Upon checkout the bill was $10 higher than the quoted price and I was told that was for the upgrades. I showed her my Expedia receipt, which included my upgrade request, and was told because I was on 1st floor it was $10 more. After a brief discussion I was refunded the $10, but keep an eye on nonsense like that if you choose to stay here.

The first bedroom TV n air-condition did not work

Finding the Motel was very hard. It was off the road and the sign to the Motel was very small to find and no big sign to see. Then during the night a person above our room was very loud walking around and stomping around. Room not sound proof. Also blood on wood floor.

First 2 rooms they put me in had no ac. Then I was told that it did not matter that my reservation and confirmation said mini fridge and microwave, they did not have any and my reservation did not show one. No screen on window, so could not even open window at night when was cooler. Toilet did not flush unless I opened the tank and manually flushed it. Bed was sagging in center, so not a comfortable sleep.

Two towels for 4 people and would not give an extra. Wouldn’t give an extra pillow. AC was very loud and didn’t cool.

Pretty good, only complaint was the AC not being the best

The staff was wonderful and helpful. Gave me a smile, despite my terrible week. Only complaints were the odd shower configuration that flooded the entire bathroom and the lack of a refrigerator. But would still book again if given the rate I had again.

I am not one to leave negative reviews, but if I can save someone from making the same mistake we did it's worth it. We booked a stay here through expedia for our family of 4 with two small children. The photos looked good and seemed reasonable for the price. The photos used here are not an accurate depiction of this location and I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't even taken at this location. We checked in, and after 2 minutes in the room we checked out. The elevator was broken, the air conditioner was broken or non existent, we booked a fridge room - there was no fridge. It smelled horrible, felt so unclean (they had windows open to air out the stairwell because there was no air in there) we were afraid to take our shoes off, the lock on the door didn't look secure. We checked out after sitting there for a few minutes and then drove around Minneapolis at 11PM with our two small children to find another hotel where we felt safe, and obviously had to pay more money since it was so last minute. We contacted expedia to let them know what happened and HERE'S THE KICKER - they contacted the hotel and the hotel told them that they didn't get the keys back until morning and that we did use the room the full night so they would not refund us! So not only was it terrible, but they lied about us checking out just before 11PM and we weren't able to get our refund. We will be contacting the head office of the Motel 6 about this. But be warned - this is not a good place to stay.

Check in was a hassle

I booked and paid my stay for two nights with a queen size bed, for a two twin bed and for some reason Expedia shows only one night. I came back to my room locked and my key wasn’t working. I went down to the front desk, got my key reactivated and was able to enter my room but my stuff was gone and someone else’s things was on the bed. I went down to the front desk and let them know if the situation and that’s when they told me that Expedia shows them only one night so they rented that room 225 to someone else. I showed them my payment recent and it showed two night that I paid for. At this point I told them to just find my bag and refund me the second night because this was a very bad experience and the place reeks of weed and smoking. I’m still waiting for my refund.

Naresh, the front office staff, was great! He took care of all my needs and was beyond friendly. Best experience with hotel staff I have ever had.

My son's car was broken down, lots of drug activity, police even suggested we go somewhere else. I left because of safety, was told I would be refunded. They never refunded me and I left after 1 hour of my stay. The employees lied stating I would refunded.

There was no working AC in the room Front desk promised a $20 discount due to the facilities but never received it

Who is standing on the counter? He also told me this area is really dangerous.

The bed was a box spring and very uncomfortable. The room and hallways smelled very musty. But, the fact that we were only sleeping there, probably can’t beat the price. But, wouldn’t stay here again. Our bodies are still sore from the bed. Overall, good area and we did feel safe. Also, the motel had great customer service.

Room was ok. Parking lot area was unsafe with random people openly doing drugs in vehicles.

We stay there because its close to concert venues and it has what we need. We will stay again for future shows and events in the cities area.

I was able to check out and get a refund, but was very inconvenient after traveling all day. Don't trust the photos on the website, as they don't reflect what the place actually looks like. Obviously you get what you pay for, but you would be much better off to find something else.

Not far from bus routes very quiet area enjoyed my walk with my daughter who is four

This location is run down and ghetto. People hanging out loitering congregating in front of the office, which is very uninviting to guest's checking in not to mention very unprofessional of the staff to allow it this is not your home but your job. I checked in and not even an hour an a half later I went to let my dog go pee I went to my car to grab a few things saw a huge disgusting spit on my trunk that someone did. I figured it was the man who parked right next to me and had a crack window and had spit piles all around the ground where his truck was parked. He made no effort in hiding this and wanted me to see he'd done that. I called the police to report it. I was upset with the disrespect and hostile environment because at that point there were at least 20 people outside watching this mess and probably witnessed him spitting on my car but if course have no decency to tell me who did it. When I went to speak with the staff at the front to see the cameras.no one can until Monday and I was offered a refund as well. The police escorted me to my room to get my dog and thing's the man who spat on my car as well as 6 other's sat and mocked me with the front desk staff that I needed security because I was scared, well if I'm surrounded by ghetto indecent rude, immature, low vibrational low life's who behave hostile towards one person then yes maybe I do want a cop to escort me because I know who I'm dealing with.

Location of property is very condusive and in a safe and calmed area,easy access to shops and restaurants.

It was near some amenities. A few in mind i would have liked is laundry, more restaurants and or a dave n busters in driving distance

When arriving into the hotel it smelled like weed and urine then when we arrived into the room it was filthy unswept and the beds were covered in lint and bugs so they moved us to another room where the toilet was falling apart and constantly running. This was such a disappointment and then they listed breakfast included but it was just a box of old doughnuts. This was the worst hotel stay i have ever had!

The bed was uncomfortable to sleep on. The hallways smelled like marijuana everyday. Only had one way in the building which was an inconvenience. No breakfast but donuts. No microwave no refrigerator so now way but downstairs to heat food no way to get ice but downstairs. This hotel is awful to stay in for an extended time.

I didn't like the fact that there was no microwave, the tv wouldn't hook up to the internet, and there were no places close by to eat.
