Motel 6-Costa Mesa, CA

Motel 6 was disappointing overall. The room did not feel clean, the property was not well-maintained, and parking was inconvenient. However, the front desk staff was very nice and accommodating, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the condition of the property made the stay uncomfortable, and I would not stay here again.

Easy parking and pleasant quiet room

I have stayed at other Motel 6 locations and had good experiences. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. had to be in Costa Mesa for a few days, so I figured I’d take a budget hotel option. I wasn’t expecting deluxe accommodations, but this did not even rise to that level. My room had a strong, foul odor. It smelled like someone was trying to cover up cigarette smell with perfume or air freshener. Every time I opened the door, the smell hit me in the face. The room didn’t have any “do not disturb” signs. There was a weird, sticky patch on the floor by the fridge, like it was leaking. I asked for housekeeping during my stay, but never got it. The most uncomfortable part was that on the morning I checked out, I was approached by drug users in the parking lot. I did not feel safe at all after that. I would never stay here again and frankly would like some or all of my money back. Totally inadequate experience.

Nice little spot to sleep near freeway. Rowdy neighbors were quickly quieted by the manager on duty. Many thanks
