Roaches!!!.....no shower curtain....dudnt have room i reserved....vending machine empty....coke machine broke.....no breakfast no nothing

Location was good but dirty cloths and towels. Elevators not working, soda machine not working, ice machine broke also. S

LIKE: Excellent shower facilities, reasonable price DON'T LIKE: Very few staff to assist customers, advertised with pool and breakfast but no operating pool and no breakfast

Pool closed ( pump out of commission) AC unit not working, blood on shower curtain, stain on ceiling. Staff was good, over worked and understaff. Price did not include local tax

The description of the property specifically references a pool and a lounge/ bar, which the hotel does not have. The check in staff was not friendly at all, the room had a stale odor, the Wi-Fi was unusable and there was no cable tv. We had a 3 night stay and left our last night to stay in a different hotel. We did ask for a refund for our last night due to all the issues outlined above and was told no. I would not stay at this property ever again and would recommend you steer clear of this property.

Gross. Pool in out of service and filled with something that is floating on the surface of the water. The chair at the desk was super gross with all kinds of fluid stains. Air conditioner rattled and made screeching noises periodically. If it wasn’t for the fact that we had already traveled 8 hours and still had 5 to go at 9pm, we stayed and went to sleep. Left as soon as we woke up.. wasn’t taking a shower there! No coffee or breakfast options either as advertised 😢

Was told a price from expedia and hotel confirmed the same. Next day found a 2nd charge on my credit card for $37ca with no eplanation. Wasn't able to get a receipt at checkout as clerk was sleeping behind counter.(8:10am). Breakfast was no longer included but coffee was available at 7:am which wasn't made. Pool was permanently closed. Blanket on bed has cigarette burn and sheets were stained. Toilet wasn't fastened to floor properly and felt like it was going to fall over when used. Fridge clunked and made noise all night so had to unplug. Probably wouldn't have wrote this review but totally pissed with extra hidden charge.

Knew for the price is wasn't a 5 star hotel however the used condom next to the bed was too much to overlook. Went to the front desk and they "upgraded" us to a suite. Once in the "upgraded" room we found it to not be vacuumed. The food crumbs and toenail clippings wasn't great but the cigarette butt in our non smoking room was kinda disgusting too. I know the hotel staff can't control what people do, but if you're not going to clean the room then tell people up front that they're staying at a crack house not a hotel. On top of that the indoor pool was out of service and the elevator was broken too.

Stained sheets with large cigarette burns. (In a non-smoking room). Overall run down.

May, 17, 2025. I checked in at approximately 6:00 p.m. upon check-in I was told my room was not ready yet. A man with gray hair slender and beard, I believe, had tattoos, approximately 65 to 75, he appeared to be in charge; he went up to check on my room and then came back and told me it was ready. A lady at the counter took my card and gave me my room number. I believe it was 305, but uncertain. I waited about 10 to 15 minutes. Once I got into my room I noticed the floor was noticeably dirty. I could visibly see dirt but also of my feet would slide/glide across it like there was a bunch of dust. I went ahead and inspected my bed, which is customary for me. When I pulled the sheets down there was dirt all through the bed, (I attached two pictures of the bed, you'll have to expand them to see the dirt.) as if someone had slept in it with their shoes on. I called down to front desk and told them my sheets were dirty. Within 10 minutes they sent someone up to change my sheets. I went ahead and asked her if she would go ahead and sweep my floor. She did and went ahead and mopped it as well. I pulled out my towels to examine them. One had a lot of stains on it like it had been used to perhaps clean a car, idk what it was. There was no trash can. In the bathroom there was old soap still in the shower, hair in the tub, and a used washcloth across the top of the shower curtain on the left. I pulled it off when I took my shower see pic it's on the floor. It wouldn't let me upload pics

I have stayed in some low budget hotels. All I expect is clean rooms and no odor. This place has neither! The linens were soiled like they rent rooms by the hour and when I asked for another room they gave me one that freaked of cigarette smoke. I left and found somewhere else to stay, you should too!

the room was NASTY. crumbs in the bed, cigarette ashes everywhere, hair still in the bathtub on the counter and toilet, dried piss on the toilet, and worst of all BED BUGS. i saw them as soon as i opened the nightstand. I highly recommend not staying here. we left immediately and we're still waiting for a refund

Musty, dirty. Dirty floor. Cigarette hole on the bed cover. Plastic bag over the smoke alarm. No cups in bathroom. Less than what I would consider bare bones accommodations. Good news is bed and shower were fine.

It was overall on Pleasant, the check-in was very slow hot, things seem very unorganized and the room we first got to had bugs all over the floor no toilet paper and no towels, it looked like the other people had just left and they told us to check in right behind them. The second room we went into was still not very clean had a funky smell and I just feel that I completely wasted my money there.

The front desk was nodding off, the room made our eyes burn from yhe cigarette smoke smell baked into the dirty walls. Cigarette burns in the blanket. Burn marks all around the sink. Mold in the shower. Literally gross. Drive 3 miles down the road somewhere else. However, you get what you pay for. We werent expecting much for $65.

The shower curtain needed to be washed, (yuck), and we had to wait 15 minutes for the thin towels and washcloths to be dried and delivered. Peeling paint and patched areas in the bathroom. No coffee in the urns in the morning as we had been told, maybe in a half hour… The bed was comfortable and clean but I would never stay there again; not what I expect from Choice hotels plus Expedia was bragging about the posted price being the final price you pay but it was almost $15 more at checkout.

I must say my expectations weren't that high giving the "econo" in the name, but they were greatly exceeded. There was a fridge and microwave and hair dryer. The beds were actually the most comfortable we had on our road trip while paying the least for it. It's not a 4 star hotel of course, but they fill their niche in a commendable way.

Large room. Quiet.

Great place for the price range. Clean, quiet, and with big, plain rooms. I just wanted a quick overnight, and this was perfect. Plus there some good restaurants within a couple of miles. I'll stay here in the future.

This motel everything so dirty and filthy, everything broken too, the people live above my room, I can hear they walk around all night, room smelll horrible, never want to go back again ever

Very much decent place to stay. I was only one night, don’t know much about shopping. Stuff was friendly and responsive. Room was clean and nice size, was comfortable. Coffee available. Good enough for the price.

Tho they were understaffed the hotel was in great shape and staff was great. Did want the pool that was broke but these things happen. Hope it is ready when we bring family at end of month. Thanks for the great weekend.

Service was extremely rude in the later evening and early morning at checkout. Few outlets worked in the room itself, and tv was not available for use at all during the entire stay.

Great place for the price range. Clean, quiet, and with big, plain rooms. I just wanted a quick overnight, and this was perfect. Plus there some good restaurants within a couple of miles. I'll stay here in the future.

It was very clean and quiet. Kind of in the middle of nothing.

The hotel is conveniently located just off I 81 on the border into Virginia The linens and towels clean. Room smelled overly sanitized. Elevator and pool were both shutdown. Elevator by state, pool no idea why or who. Good point is a microwave and older dorm size refrigerator. They were redoing parking lot. Well lit. Tv got hbo for movies.

After a long day of driving, I was looking for a evening meal and a nice rest. Upon arriving at the Middletown Va Econolodge, I discovered that other than McDonalds fast food, there was no other food available. So I had to get back in my car and go search around (in an area unfamiliar to me) for someplace to eat. I find it really frustrating that overnight accommodations are not located in places where various food establishments are also convenient. Expedia (and the other travel sites) do a crappy job of recommending hotels without nearby food selections.

I liked how close it was to the highway. It had service stations and restaurants nearby so you could get food and get back on the highway.

There was no housekeeping, no coffee maker in the room, no breakfast and no directions on how to use the TV. It is a good that the only thing I needed the room for was to sleep at night. It was not worth what I paid.

No coffee in the rooms or in the lobby. Walk to mcdonalds and the dining room opens at 7am. Big truck isnt going in the drive thru. Clerk sleeping at the front door that took 10 minutes to wake up not ro get a receipt that i was told i would get in the morning.
