Rodeway Inn Garland Harbor Point

I liked the price. They are remodeling rooms and I got one that hadn't been remodeled yet or if it had, the work is atrocious. Mattresses were ok but obviously worn. I couldn't get the deadbolt on the door to work. The parking lot was well lit. It was quiet despite being near two major freeways in Garland. The door to the room had a significant gap between the door and the threshold. The gap was large enough for rodents to enter when the weather turns cooler. The towels were of poor quality as were the soap bars. Television channels were all local channels which after a night or so were boring. The wifi access was inconsistent; the router password was extremely unsecure. I had limited access to protected networks. It was a waste of time to try to do any remote work.

Rented here to have laundry facilities, they were broken and no room service done for 3 days

Quirky – but perfectly fine I stayed at the Discovery Inn in Garland TX for three nights in October 2025. It’s an older motel, right next to I 30, so there’s a significant amount of highway noise, at least on the side that faces I 30. However, I found it tolerable and was able to sleep without disturbance. I found it pleasantly upscale from what I’ve found in other motels at a similar cost – I paid $60/night. There was daily housekeeping, soap, shampoo and conditioner, clean towels and bed linen. There was a perfectly usable refrigerator in the room and a small microwave oven. Additionally, there was a nice work desk with lamp and power outlets, which I used while there. Two items to mention under the heading of quirky: The television, while modern and fully functional, shows only a quite odd collection of stations. Only one network affiliate – WFAA (channel 8) the local ABC affiliate. There were perhaps five religious channels, four or five shopping channels, a couple of country music channels and RetroTV – there in case you feel the need to watch a 1940s Charlie Chan movie. Since the tuning was identical to regular over the air digital TV, I don’t understand why they chose to not make regular over the air TV available. There is an ice machine, but you have to go to the office and ask the desk clerk for ice - in a plastic trash bag - since there are no ice buckets. Finally, I would consider Discovery Inn positively for a future stay.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Trash, mattresses, junk piled up in hallways. Looked like it had survived a hurricanee but there was no hurricane. We paid in advance for two nights but left after 3 minutes of junk and disgust and creepy men checking in

Guy a front desk was awesome . They have semi truck parking and being a driver myself that was a plus. Easy in and out,there is also a Sonic and gas station within walking distance.

Room was clean, grounds were clean. Staff was friendly and effective at check in. Bedding was little old school but I felt very comfortable staying here

We didn’t end up staying! Bed bugs, the room was dirty but the beds were made. The sink was dirty and the room smelled.

The price was extremely affordable for the night, and I was totally fine with the dated building and the unappealing area. However, there was no reason for the room to be dirty and have splatters of an unknown substance all over the walls. The toilet had also not been cleaned.

Remember you get what you pay for here! So upon arrival the staff tells me he has to put us in a non smoking room with double beds because they already gave out all the non smoking single bed rooms like we reserved. I said ok thats fine no problem. Finish checking in and get the key to rm#118. We then go to our room and open the door and it smells like its smothered in cigarette smoke and the smoke alarm is beeping non stop, so I call the desk as them if they want to fix it or replace the battery or what not, the staff said I will just move you to the next room over rm#120 ok sounds good and he was courteous enough to bring us the key and everything. We get into rm#120 and start getting our bags brought in then I walked over to the sink and it had hairs all in it and around it even some toothpaste definitely had not been cleaned, so then I look in the bathroom and there are folded clean towels on the back of the toliet with the soaps and shampoo they give out but then look down at the toilet and it had dried urine shattered on it and as well as the floor , the tub was disgusting as well there was like blackish dirt smudges on the edge and same on the inside of around the tub with the soap scum and that black stuff was in the bottom of the tub as well almost looked like mold. The beds were made but one look dirty like the sheets hadn't been washed and the pillow case had stuff on it . It all looked like fresh stuff left everywhere and the room was never cleaned after that

Disgusting place and when I mentioned the problems they just left it as is. Old black molded potato’s in the microwave. Literal poop stains on the towels and walls. Furniture is more water damaged than the houses after Katrina.

100% Honest review: I've traveled the entire U.S., stayed everywhere from 1star to 5star - DO NOT believe the high ratings!! Esp the 8/10-10/10, they're either fake or written by crackheads. This is an old school, nasty, trucker motel. When my family arrived at 9pm there were pr0stitutes in the parking lot where all the semis are parked, right by our room. The sheets were disgusting! Not stained, but clearly dirty & unwashed, huge dirt smears in them, dead bugs on them, other pieces of stuff all over both beds. The mattress covers were stained. The fridge did not work at all & REEKED of rotten food; we opened it & gagged. Hair all over the bathroom, tile was so dirty - it hasnt been cleaned in a long time, so disgusting. Nothing was clean, everything is old & broken, toilet wasnt attached to the ground. Don't even think you're eating breakfast here. This is somewhere you stay if you only have $35 to your name. If you've traveled a lot, you know that these low-end places owned by Middle Eastern descent are known for being run down & dirty - it's just a fact. If you have a family, do not stay here, no matter what the good reviews say.

Very nice staff, quiet spacious room

Getting g to sone things requires a car but the is so what still convenient. The room itself was good and quiet

Check in was quick and easy. The room was clean but there was no microwave. Other than that I was satisfied with my stay.

It’s honestly not bad for the price what you see is what you get in the pictures my only problem is they have 60 channels and only like 5 of them work and it’s the worst 5

The only reason I didn't give it all 5 stars is because they don't have any type of cable TV not even basic cable just local channels.very clean place they are very nice and respectful people I do plan on staying here when I'm able ro

Did not have any necessities like a closet to hang clothes in or a microwave

When I arrived at the hotel, my room wasn’t ready because they had not cleaned the rooms and they didn’t know when they were clean the rooms so I asked them to refund my money and he said he would do it the next day, but my money has not been refunded.

The indian check out clerk asked if i was single and told me i was very beautiful. I told him do not disturb i was going to apply lidocaine pain patch on my back and call it an evening i coyld barely walk. He came knocking at my door and was trying to peer in after i answered and i stated i do not need anything i asked no disturbance. He still stood there the hair on the back of my neck stood up. I shut the door and locked it. The curtains in the room had huge holes zero room privacy. I did not feel safe at all.

We got there and was told they no longer allow pets even though it says online they do so they turned us away, because they haven’t updated it yet on the website. So that was great had to go find a last minute hotel which is a lot more expensive.

The staff here was wonderful, friendly and easy to deal with. Despite being next to a major interstate, it was relatively quiet. Property could use some updating, but served its purpose well. Will stay again !!!

The fellas up front were extra customer friendly even told me that if I needed something from next Dr store they would run there and bring it to room personal room service for me !!! Now that's good service!!
