Rodeway Inn Saint Joseph

It didnt snow here for many days, but the parking lot is completely covered in extremely slippery ice. Also part of the entrance sidewalk. I just about hit the ground 3 different times

Average hotel at best. Had to swipe the entry card on the front door about 30 times to finally get it to work. Also there was no soap or shampoo in the shower in the bathroom. Very poor attention to detail. Staff member who checked us in was very difficult to understand because of his heavy foreign accent.

Disappointed. Went to St Joseph’s Joseph’s for Parent’ Weekend & thought it be convent to stay in town. I called the Roadway Inn directly and they said they were all booked but on Expedia said 3 openings. Hotel room smelled dirty, like someone hadn’t bathed. Called front dest and solution was to open our window, if it doesn’t work, all they had was can of spray. Found a dead fly on the bed but fortunately no bedbugs. Bedding and wash rags were thin and worn out, hope they at least used bleach to sanitize. There were 3 in our room and only 2 sets of towels, clearly said 3 with reservations. We weren’t brave enough to shower there. Heating cooling unit was noisy with loud, hail like tappings in the unit every couple of minutes. Heat smelled like something was burning. Since we booked online through Expedia, they didn’t have our credit card for “ incidentals” the man checking us in “wrote” my card down on paper. The next morning verifying checkout process, I asked about the card, and was told they kept the number in their room and once they verified we hadn’t stolen anything, they would rip it up. I should have been a better consumer and asked for the card number but I was in shock about the entire awful experience. I am not a hotel snob but I have some basic expectation. Rate was still $140ish so wasn’t cheap, could have stayed at a cheaper place in St Cloud for less. Everything was rundown and needing an update. Hotel is run by a couple who stay on site. Never again!

Very unclean But amazing shower pressure

The Rodeway Inn is the perfect place to stay in St. Joseph, MN. The staff were friendly and the hotel is clean inside and out. No smokey rooms or entry areas. No pet odors in a pet free hotel. I highly recommend this hotel!

everything is old and dirty, lights are broken, cable is very limited, lock on the door was broken. Not worth what we spent!

Room was clean but was very musty smelling. Breakfast was a packaged sweet roll that was not fresh. Staff was fine. It could use some updating. But as I mentioned earlier, the room was clean.

Rotten food was not cleaned out of refrigerator and polluted the air in the room when we attempted to use it. Instead of rectifying the issue immediately, the manager criticized us for not notifying him at checkin (which was 60 minutes earlier). We were eventually moved to a different room; however, the shower had no soaps in the dispensers. Overall it was a disappointing experience but not far off from our expectations… it is the roadway inn

Check in took a long time due to an apparent technical issue. There were not towels in the bathroom so I had the attendant get some for me. The price was very good, the room was clean and convenient to the location I was headed to.

Stayed one night. Room was dirty- bathroom floor and caulking around tub and toilet were moldy looking, sheets were stained, room smelled of musty, damp air. Staff was rude upon check in and when asking for extra towels. Breakfast consisted of packaged bakery goods that may have been expired and coffee machine that spit out what looked like sludge. Thankfully there is a Kwik Trip next door. Wouldn’t stay here again unless it was an absolute emergency.

This is a clean and well-maintained hotel. However the hotel overcharged by adding on an "early checkin fee", and did not respond to requests to reverse this charge.

Mostly great - bed mattress could be upgraded

Check out is at 11 am management called me at 10 am to remind me that check out is at 11am.this is so unprofessional that it defies belief.the heat for the room was an extremely loud wall unit.even though there is baseboard heating. The room could have had brighter lighting.When I asked around town about the hotel , everyone, I spoke to said it had a bad reputation.saf state of affairs in the hospitality industry

The beds were uncomfortable, the pillows were old and flat, and the AC unit roared like a tractor engine. The location is nice, and the pricing is fair.

Horrible bed and pillows- bed was like a U. We both rolled into the middle of the bed and had to roll over the hollow to stay on our sides of the bed. Pillows were like wafers. Thin and no cushion

It was fine. The room was clean and in ok shape even though it was all very dated. The bed was very firm and the pillows were very firm. There was not air in the hallway, but each room had its own very loud AC unit.

A tired respite for even wearier travelers. Things are dated but adequate. The price is in line with the accommodations. Great water pressure in the showers. Some road noise but a comfortable and relatively clean stay. Very safe area.

Excellent front desk service. Breakfast was good. My only complaint was the mattress. I slept all right, but just getting on it, you can feel the springs. 2 stars is the perfect rating. This hotel was perfect for our 1 night stay.

We had a room on the first floor so I didn't have to climb stairs which was a plus for me. It was difficult getting our one day use of towels to dry before used again as the room temperature was not real conducive for that. Outlets for electronics not very plentiful. And there was no protein included in the breakfast.

Staff were exceptionally nice and welcoming. Room was clean and affordable! Nice location - easy to get to and 1/4 of the cost of a room in St. Cloud.

We were prepaid customers with a reserved room. Manager demanded a $ 100 deposit for "incidentals and damages." Nothing unusual...until, I gave him my ID and credit card. He proceeded to hand copy the personal information to a small piece of scratch paper rather than process my card. I questioned what he was doing and said if I did not like him doing so I could hand him $ 100 cash. I asked him to process the card. "We can't do that and then later refund your deposit, so pay us in cash... I do not trust you!" He was harvesting all my personal and credit card information and then saying that he did not trust me! I forked over the cash - but what if I had not had that much cash with me??? Hang on to your personal information if you stay at this Rodeway Inn. And don't expect the promised breakfast to be out on time in the morning. They don't set things out until 6:15 or 6:20. Manager Mike was very unprofessional about the whole process. I was pleasantly surprised to actually get my cash deposit back after a 10 minute wait at checkout.

The establishment wanted $100 cash deposit even though it was not mentioned anywhere in the booking or itinerary. Expedia couldn’t do a thing to help me cancel this booking either. The manager was arguing with another customer in a full blown screaming session over this policy too when I arrived. Would not recommend! Expedia is shady too.

Warning - you are required to give a additional cash deposit even when room is paid with credit card If you book through a third party don’t stay here, when you check in (which takes much longer than needed) you will be asked for a $100 deposit - in cash- , I handed the lady my card and she said she the policy is cash only for the deposit. I do a fair amount of traveling and have never had to give a cash deposit for a room paid with a credit card. Avoid this property unless you have a hundred dollar bill on you. Also expect quite a bit of wait time when checking in/out. Obviously you want your cash back so you will wait the time when checking out. The cash deposit policy is not in writing anyplace in the lobby or on any of the paperwork

The owners/managers are wonderful as is the cleaning person. No negative comment.

Just fine for an overnight, inexpensive stay. Attended a concert at The Ledge. Very convenient location.

Very comfortable. Felt safe. Stale smell in hotel could freshen up carpets perhaps.

This was just a stopover on our route. The hotel is basic but clean & sufficient, and the mattress was very comfy. Breakfast consisted of a waffle machine, & stuff to make toast etc. We could walk to Neighbors restaurant a block away and they offered a great variety on the menu and the food & service there was great, along with a Kwik trip right next door, there was no need to go anywhere else.

It was a convenient solution for lodging when visiting St. Joseph.

Comfortable stay for an evening on our way from ND to Minneapolis.

Great value and now the breakfast has Belgian waffles. Quick Trip is a short walk to get any thing you might need.

Waffles and donuts for breakfast was ok.

Clean, excellent breakfast, comfortable beds. Owners/managers are so friendly and provide a wonderful experience!
