Motel 6-Rancho Mirage, CA - Palm Springs

Facilities were gross. pool area not clean and was always garbage floating around. Room wasn't clean and only had housekeeping once. Room didn't have any soap or regular toiletries. Security cameras didn't work. Very disappointing

I dont expect much from Motel 6 , but one of our rooms the bathroom faucet wasn't even attached to the sink (you had to hold it down in order to use it). 100 degrees and could not use pool as it was so cloudy water was afraid to use.

This chain continues to provide bars of soap in the rooms which is very wasteful and eco unfriendly. After every stay there are heaps of barely used leftover bars of soap that the hotel discards. The big trend in hotels (that Motel 6 obviously does not follow) is to wall mount soap dispensers that can be refilled by housekeeping. The other big shortfall - there was no working ice maker anywhere. The front desk said it was “being worked on.” Big big shortfall considering it is hot and dry in Palm Springs.

Easy parking- no pass needed.

It would have been easier to get our luggage in the upper floor If they had an elevator.

The pool had a lot of leaves etc in it and needed to be skimmed but the water itself was clean

The room was mostly clean except for the floor, which was sticky. The bed was old and lumpy with big rut on both sides--definitely in need of replacement. The pool and spa needed cleaning, and the spa wasn't heated (neither was the pool, but that's not a huge deal in the desert). About what you'd expect from a cheap motel, but I've had much better experiences at other Motel 6's.

Horrible it was dirty and homeless people and broken staircase, no shampo or anything . green spa.

Was there 3 days ice machine did not get fixed

The room reeked of smoke. I had to wash my clothing when I came home to get the smell out. The bathroom was disgusting and held together with putty. The towels were paper thin. There was no shampoo and only these tiny little bars of soap. The desk had something spilled on it. The nightstand had cigarette burns. This was a complete horror show. The place looked nothing like the pictures and I probably would have been better off sleeping in my car. This place reminded me of what you see after a crime had been committed. I didn't feel like I could complain because everything else was booked due to the Tennis tournament. This is an embarrassment.

Our stay was not pleasant at all. The restroom walls and tub were dirty and the towel holders were also dirty. Both bed sheets had so many stains on it and the air conditioner needed cleaning as well. I was very disappointed overall. I didn’t expect the the best motel but definitely expect better then what we got. I was also locked out of my room in 114°heat because she only activated my room key for one day instead of the three days I reserve. I will not be staying here again nor will I recommend the motel.

Office Staff was nice, easy check in. However, room was not nice. Not clean. Very dirty, hair long dark stands all over sink counter/sink/towels, bathroom was gross. I couldn’t use toilet, it was so dirty, even the water was dirty in the toilet, the tub/shower was with dry dirt in the basin and around the tub along with a huge black spider that disappeared when I went for my phone to picture this room. I HAD TO LEAVE IN 10 minutes after arriving. I couldn’t even go up to office to ask for a different room as this area is not a decent location. Loitering men outside room,, loud traffic from street felt like I was a bus stop. I’m sorry, but this was horrible. I left tip on the table and ran to my car. No thank you. Never again. Do not recommend not even for my worst enemy! Also blood droplets all over flooring! And the bed spread was stained and dirty.

Our room was very dirty. It was suppose to be a non smoking room, but it wreaked very badly upon entry. There was hair in the bed linens and on the pillows. It was so gross. Our toilet had stains in it. The towels had yellow stains in them. I left the room to purchase fresh linen so that I can place them over the dirty ones.This was my first and last visit to this establishment.

The bathroom was dirty. Toilet not cleaned, lashes in shower and microwave with food in it.

The smoke detector was covered in plastic and disabled. There was a bullet hole in the floor and one in the shower. Blood on the mattress. Dead roaches in the corners of room. Most rooms are occupied by weekly guests and there are a lot of homeless hanging out. A lot of drug and prostitution traffic. Woke up to someone screaming and loud bangs followed by 3 fire trucks and 2 sheriff vehicles 2 doors down from our room. Staff is nice but facility is not safe

Sheets were dirty on top. When we tried to get in bed there was dirt between the sheets. I thought maybe tiny insects but probably not. We didn’t move any more bags in after the first one and we slept in the car. I’m sure my wife threw away enough of the clothes she was wearing that we didn’t save any money staying here

This is a very basic hotel. Our room was on the highway side which was rather loud. The bed was small and hard. The room was large but very basic and dated. It was fine for one night but I wouldn't stay there for more than that.

Wifi did not work, do not come here if that is important to you. Thankfully I only spent 1 night, but if it had been longer I'm not sure I would've tolerated it as well. Try to get top floor cuz the upstairs is very noisy when people are walking around on it. Toilet sounded like it was constantly running, and didn't flush after the first time I flushed it. AC was also very noisy.

Was provided a room on the first floor on street side of property. Street noise was awful. The upstairs room noise was awful. If I stayed there again, I’d have to have an upstairs room on the back side of the property.

Hotel was basic, the bed had a dip in the middle of it. I’d suggest taking your own pillows, they were too soft and did not have more to offer. If using the restroom in the middle of the night, the light switch also turned on the counter sink area so it could wake up others sleeping in the room (should have its own switch). It’s a Motel 6, nothing great or fancy.

Staff is great. WiFi very slow… comes and goes.

It was great to wake up to a view with the mountains, it’s also a great location for the sunset as well

Staff was great but just fyi make sure to get an upstairs room. We had downstairs and there was I’m pretty sure a crack head above us because they kept pacing back and fourth all night literally we would be waken up every hour from them dropping something or moving stuff around. We had a two night stay and both nights was the same.

I booked this room for my sister, her husband and son yesterday. According to her, the younger guy with the dark hair that initially checked them in was pleasant. However, when she went back to make another reservation with her husband this morning, the manager (I think he’s a manager because of his shirt) (a older guy with white curly hair) was very rude to her. She called me very upset about her experience. According to her, she went in with her husband to inquire about the price for two rooms. She wanted to keep her current room (double bed) and add an additional room (queen bed) since the rooms are so small especially for a family of 3 with pets. The manager, kept telling her that the rooms only have “queen beds” with an attitude and her husband had to step in a take over the interaction. During the entire transaction the manager kept rolling and cutting his eyes at her everytime she spoke making her feel very uncomfortable. Not to sure what happened because I wasn’t there but my sister is a very nice person and for her to call me upset has also upset me. This man doesn’t know her and she doesn’t know him so I’m not sure what his deal was. Hopefully motel 6 will take this review serious and look at the cameras to figure out what transpired. I will not be booking another room here whether it’s for myself or someone else.

Clean room, great staff

I tried to do an early check in…The manager told me …”come back in a couple hours…we don’t do early check-ins…”. I told her that I had spoke to an employee the night before around 9:30pm (prior to making the reservation) and they said it wouldn’t be an issue. The manager told me, “There’s no way ‘that’ employee would have known if (I) could do early check in”. I told her that didn’t make any sense. The employee told me, “we have 6 rooms clean and ready, and unless we have a bunch of people come in, those rooms are available”. So then, I asked the manager the name(s) of who was working the previous night and I even offered to show her the time that I called on my phone. She proceeded to tell me that she was coming back after being so sick that she was gone for three days…so I guess that meant she wasn’t going to help me!?! I told her I just needed a room to shower prior to meeting some clients. I had been driving for hours and I knew I would need a shower. I even offered to take a smoking room just so I could shower. The manager stood in front of me shaking her head…I asked her what do I have to do, contact corporate? She proceeded to turn around and walked away while making some comment and disappeared into the back office! Worst manager I’ve ever seen or had to deal with in my life. Then another employee came up to me and quietly said, “we’re franchise owned, and ever since we were bought out, things here have gone downhill”. He explained that the owner doesn’t really care

Great check in. Staff was friendly and helpful

Key card machine was inoperative for the entire stay, so no key card was ever provided. This necessitated a walk to the office each time to obtain a staff member to gain entry to the room. Upon check-in I discovered that the light fixture over the credenza desk area had no light bulb. I requested one but it was never provided. The shower head was not properly attached to the pipe neck and leaked much of its water out the back, greatly reducing water flow out the head.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY. The location is great, the rooms are clean however there are a wealth of escorts and drug addicts there on a regular basis. I stayed there for 4 nights, put up with the unit next to mine having visitors all night, every night. Constant knocking and opening of the door. I complained to the front desk on a Sunday at 9 AM and was told they would address the issue. At 2:30 that same day I ran into 2, 40 year old men leaving that room, asked them why they felt it was OK to disturb many guests with their nightly visitors and drug dealing and got sprayed in the face with pepper spray which is the most painful, debilitating experience one can live through. I was blinded, my eyes and face were on fire and was helped to the office by another guest where the front desk agent showed 0 concern, offered no explanation why those people were still in the hotel pretty much left it at that. 4 Sheriff vehicles arrived in minutes as did a fire truck and paramedics who transported me to the ER where I spent 5 hours having my eyes washed and treated, took vision tests as my eyes were clearing and was finally discharged. I arrived back to the hotel at 8 PM to find the drug room was still occupied by the same people and had the luxury of going through another night of the same behavior. Nobody from Motel 6 cared, nobody did anything. I left the next morning and I am suing Motel 6. Expect problems if you stay at this property.

We stay here over a couple of years looking for a retirement home, because we have a cat, and it’s very hard to reliably find a place that accepts them, for whatever reason. We’ve stayed at every other Motel 6 in the Coachella Valley, and this one is far and away the best. It’s because of the manager, who runs a tight and professional ship! Maintenance, housekeeping, front office…all well above what you’d expect from a budget motel. This property really shows how good leadership leads to quality.

The staff were incredibly helpful, rooms were clean, great value. It’s close to the highway as Motel 6’s are so I had the fan on to mask road noise, it’s in a less desirable part of town, but near the bus.

nice motel 6, pretty clean with just a few of the homeless types in area. But everyone needs a place to stay, they manage that part well. Love the morning coffee, nice perk...

In a word….don’t even think about it!! Total ripoff at around £240 a night (there was a big music festival half an hour away). Wi-Fi available only by walking to the office. Ice machines broken (it was 43 degrees outside). Tv didn’t work. Rooms are not serviced daily…had to go to the office to look for clean towels and toilet paper! Room so cramped you couldn’t have swung a cat in it (glad I left the cat at home). No breakfast or any food available whatsoever and no microwave. Tiny room. No drawers or storage…suitcases on the floor and had to climb over them to get to bed. The only thing that worked well was the card machine. Horribly run place. Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

The microwave worked. Ice was always available. Coffee was good. The staff was always polite and helpful.

Nice room. Bed was comfortable. My only gripe is that there was no coffee maker.

Trash all over the place. Pool water was green. Only gave me 1 small face cloth for 2 people. They could of had a least little containers of cream for the coffee instead of those old packets of powder
