Nice venue in the centre of town with plenty of onsite parking. Room was clean & tidy and bottled water was provided alongside teas, coffee & milk. Barvwas well stocked, staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was of a high standard and delicious.

Tucked away in a picturesque English village of Milktown (Meksham) this hotel offers a truly memorable stay that blends comfort, character, and convenience. The rooms are cozy and well-appointed, with just the right balance of modern amenities and traditional charm. Room 6 was very quiet. One of the standout features is the on-site restaurant and pub—a real gem. The menu offers hearty, beautifully prepared meals using local ingredients, and the pub atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for relaxing on the patio with a pint. The breakfast, included with the room, was generous and satisfying each morning (the toast was perfect and the eggs yokes bright orange!) Staff were attentive without being intrusive, and the overall ambiance reflects the care and pride taken in running this establishment. The in room heaters worked great and the beds while stiff were comfortable

A very relaxing stay with good quality food available on site at very affordable prices in the evening. There is a variety of options to suit all tastes for breakfast to choose from and I deliberated for a long time the first morning before deciding. The room had a very comfortable bed, (I can't remember the last time I slept for over 12 hours), kettle with plenty of hot drinks to choose from) and a bathroom bigger than some hotels, with a powerful, easy-to-operate shower. On the downside, as someone with a disability, there are quite a few stairs and the floor levels themselves do vary slightly. Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough and will certainly stay here again next time if they have availability, but I will pre-book my taxi from the station, as there is no taxi rank at the station.

1. There was dirty toilet paper when I used the bathroom. 2. The shower head is leaking and when I tried used it to shower my kid the water went to all directions :(. 3. We arrived around 7,8 pm and the room was so hot. There was no fan and two little window were closed. It feels like a joke that someone wants to cook you in room. 4. The room is advertised as Family suit, however the room I got was a room on top floor with super steep unsafe stair. There is no elevator in the building as it’s an old building. There is no way that this room is safe for any young kids. 5. The hotel is operated by the pub restaurant people so it’s hard to get attention when restaurant gets busy. There is no phone in the room so you have to come down to find people to get anything. Overall my suggestion is to avoid booking this place if you have any young kids. After a camping trip, the overnight stay in a comfortable, clean room (with a mattress!!!) was very welcome. The attention to detail was noted and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was top quality and we would have happily stayed there another night. Have already recommended.

Comfortable stay in a decent sized room with lovely coffee! Food was good and staff friendly. My only criticism was that the bathroom needs renovation. Had a shower curtain,which you dont ecpect now, and a bit tired looking around bath/ shower.

We had roooms in the converted stables and they were great. The accessible room was perfect for someone with poor mobility. The food was good, but the service in the restaurant was extremely slow, waiting almost an hour after ordering for cereal and croissants for breakfast. However, the staff were lovely and very apologetic.

Probably should have done a little more investigating RE the hotel as I'm not from the area and didn't realise it was positioned above a pub of the same/similar name. As a family with 2 youth children (4 and 6 years old) checking in on a Saturday evening and hoping to get some rest after a long day, we were met with a live band and a lot of noisy punters, which is absolutely fair as it's a pub after all on a Saturday night. Although, after the music shut down there was a lot of stomping around upstairs by the rooms, either from other hotel residents or the noisy lot downstairs, who knows. Just a heads up to other families to perhaps look elsewhere if you're passing through and need some decent rest. Otherwise, staff were great, room was otherwise cosy and quite large, which is always nice, and the breakfast was really decent as well. Can't fault that at all.

Very pleasant staff. Our courtyard room was comfortable and surprising very quiet - would book the same room again. Rather drab outside but …… Tourist information was extremely helpful. This was virtually opposite so we were able to learn more about the town and have a short informed walk around .

I hope you donot get room on top floor in summer , otherwise you may get fried in your room. It’s overpriced as well. I paid over $200 for zero service with dirty toilet plus hot room.
1. There was dirty toilet paper when I used the bathroom. 2. The shower head is leaking and when I tried used it to shower my kid the water went to all directions :(. 3. We arrived around 7,8 pm and the room was so hot. There was no fan and two little window were closed. It feels like a joke that someone wants to cook you in room. 4. The room is advertised as Family suit, however the room I got was a room on top floor with super steep unsafe stair. There is no elevator in the building as it’s an old building. After a camping trip, the overnight stay in a comfortable, clean room (with a mattress!!!) was very welcome. The attention to detail was noted and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was top quality and we would have happily stayed there another night. Have already recommended.

Nice venue in the centre of town with plenty of onsite parking. Room was clean & tidy and bottled water was provided alongside teas, coffee & milk. Barvwas well stocked, staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was of a high standard and delicious.

Very pleasant staff. Our courtyard room was comfortable and surprising very quiet - would book the same room again. Rather drab outside but …… Tourist information was extremely helpful. This was virtually opposite so we were able to learn more about the town and have a short informed walk around .

Comfy hotel with good food and drink. Room was big and well equipped. Only issue for me was that breakfast is from 8am in the week. Offered pain aux raisin to go. When I can to get it - it was pain aux chocolat. Would have like a proper breakfast to start before 8.

Comfortable stay in a decent sized room with lovely coffee! Food was good and staff friendly. My only criticism was that the bathroom needs renovation. Had a shower curtain,which you dont ecpect now, and a bit tired looking around bath/ shower.

My wife and I stayed here just one Sunday night. The hotel is centrally situated with a large car park. It is a wonderful old pub/hotel, full of character. The welcome was very friendly. The room had no towels provided, but this was very quickly rectified. The door lock was broken. We had an accessible room which included a wet room. Very spacious, but we felt that the disabled toilet and special wash hand basin were too close making it a bit difficult to easily use the toilet. The bedroom itself was clean and well equipped with a lovely large comfortable bed. We ate in the restaurant that evening and for breakfast; both were a little disappointing to be honest. The Sunday menu was very limited and service was very slow. What was on offer for dinner had been ‘jazzed up’ with, in our opinion, good food spoilt by the addition of some unusual ingredients. We felt that with a very limited offering, something more conventional might be more appropriate. My wife had the standard English breakfast; most of it was of a very low standard. The egg was rock solid, other stuff was luke warm. The only decent thing was the hash brown. I had the eggs royale which were superb! There are other eating options locally. We might stay again, but not eat here.

Big, clean comfortable room, ideal for a family of 4. Staff were excellent and food at dinner and breakfast were really good - a good step up from standard pub food. Home made cookies, and crayons and activity sheets for the kids in the room were a lovely addition.
