Let’s address the elephant in the room, this is an aesthetically dated property. But does it have lovely staff, a comfy bed, and working appliances and features? Absolutely, and that’s what matters more. We didn’t take advantage but it has complementary shuttles to the ferry and is a great distance to downtown Mackinaw City and other experiences.

The beds were nice, the room was nice enough. The room could definitely use detail cleaning and some minor repairs. The pool was freezing cold but in good condition. Breakfast was okay but lacking in some items (no fruit and no eggs or meats). It did have essentials...coffee, cereal, pancakes, yogurt and oatmeal. The staff was nice and friendly. Would stay again.

This is a decent choice if you are just looking for an affordable, clean space to sleep. No frills. Limited breakfast, but better than nothing. Property looked fairly outdated, but clean enough. My kids were disappointed that the pool was closed. I've certainly stayed in nicer places for less money, but considering the area this one is in, it's one of the most inexpensive options.

We were looking for an inexpensive room for the night while traveling with our dog. Some hotels in Mackinaw City charge $50 for a pet. Travelodge charged $30, was adequately clean, and the room was functional. The sheets and bathroom were clean, it had a fridge and coffeemaker. The location was quiet. There was plenty of hot water in the shower. It actually served breakfast— unusual for Mackinaw City— in a cute greenhouse breakfast room. Coffee, cereals, breads, and muffins. I would not be afraid to stay here, it’s good for the price. Just don’t expect fresh paint and well maintained rooms. Service was good.

Pros: - Was the "cheapest" around on a Friday night (we paid $110) - You can buy Mackinac ferry tickets at the front office for $1 cheaper than online. Plus the Sheplers shuttle will come and pick you up from the hotel and drop you back off there after which was awesome. Travelodge will let you keep your car there for the day while you're on the island even if you stay the night before. - Free breakfast, although there weren't too many options. - Bed wasn't too uncomfortable, but very small pillows - Front desk staff was nice Cons: - Hairdryer and TV didn't work - There was a spider and mosquito in my room - Musty smell especially in the bathroom, felt moist in the room, gross ceiling tiles that are molding, the shower wall moved when I leaned on it (weird and gross) - Floors are super dirty and must not get cleaned. My socks got black on the bottom after walking around just a little... so maybe pack an extra pair of clean socks in the morning and wear shoes around. - Room in general just felt very run outdated, but it was a budget place so I guess you get what you pay for

The pool was stagnant, dirt piling on the bottom. A flim and foating, looked like peaces of tissue across the top of the water. No filtration, no water moving. Chose this place because of the pool. Very disappointing. The property had broken chairs around it and in disrepair. We did like our room. It was a suite with a jacuzzi. In the office building seperate from the hotel rooms, greatfully.

The positives were 3 beds, 2 sinks and clean towels and bedding. When I asked about the bath tub ring, someone came to check and wipe it, but it still looked very stained. We got no sleep due to next room patrons noise. Finally gave up trying to sleep at 2:30 am and left, so didn't get the free breakfast. We didn't shower due to the musty smell and stained gross looking tub. The ceiling by the vanity was falling apart and smelled musty. Our feet were black from the dirty floor. The fridge had crumbs in it, the window sill was dirty and had dead flies on it. The furniture is old, the lamps are rusty, so I wiped the night stands and the cloth turned black.

Our room was absolutely filthy. There was literal dirt on the floor, dust all over everything. It smelled stale like it’s been sitting for months. There was MOLD all over the bathroom. Every neighbor was loud, rude, and inconsiderate. The only good thing was the air conditioner worked great. However, the lady we dealt with the day of check in- absolutely wonderful. 12/10 rating for her and her only.

Room 127 was horrific. As you can see in the photos the bathroom was moldy, ceiling/wall falling apart and tub/shower absolutely horrible. Smelled of mold. When mentioned the mold smell was told the room hadn’t been “aired out” yet. Would MEVER recommend this hotel!!

Floor in the room was covered in sand, definitely wasn’t cleaned well before we got there. There was NO soap to use at the bathroom sink. Toilet ran non-stop. Room was extremely humid and running the A/C and/or the fan did nothing to help, we tried everything. Sheets felt damp and it was terrible trying to sleep. Pool is large and deep but ICE COLD even though it’s indoors so we couldn’t use it. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Staff were very friendly.

The room was absolutely filthy. Mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Tiles/wall caving into the tub. Floors were filthy. My spouse cleaned up a water spill and the towel was black after. Killed four spiders within 90 minutes of being there. My children found another persons socks so clearly cleaning staff had not been in. Dust and cobwebs all over the walls. Air conditioning worked poorly. Pool water was murky and room was gross with broken windows. Ended up being so grossed out we left and checked into a different hotel nearby. If I could get my money back I would. I would not trust the reviews that say it was clean and well kept.

I would never stay here again.. to start off the room was definitely not kept very clean. There was cobwebs everywhere. The smell was less the pleasant. An it looked like they were fummagating a mattress for bed bugs right in the parking lot. To top off the stay when we came back from a day on the town our door was wide open an 2 men were doing maintenance on the ceiling in the bathroom. Said they had a work order. Why would you ever put us in a room if you plan on doing work on said room. Was definitely upset seeing how all our personal items were in there. Save your self the problems an DONT stay here!

Travelodge is located a quick 10 minute walk to Shepler's Ferry. Shopping is located just up the road from Shepler's which was very convenient. The room was spacious and the jetted tub in our room was excellent. I highly recommend this location for your vacation needs.

Desk service was helpful and accommodating. Wi-Fi would not connect in our room, so we were given another room. The rooms are dated, curtains did not close all the way, and the water in the tub would not shut off completely. But the room was clean and the breakfast was good.

This wasn't the nicest place we've ever stayed, but it was adequate for what we needed. There were a few issues: the TV didn't work (or maybe it was just the remote?), the tub took 15 minutes to drain after a shower (there was no plug, so it should have drained throughout), the fitted sheet was the wrong size and kept popping off the corner. But, it was convenient to restaurants and attractions and had a great breakfast for us.

The room itself was great. Large, spacious, and clean. The hotel itself is in desperate need of a facelift however. There are no elevators either, and the hand rails don’t seem too secure.

When we checked in, the woman at the reception told us that the ferry tickets to Mackinac Island included priority boarding, so we purchased them. However, it turned out that priority boarding was not actually included.

Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Late checkout was helpful. Property was dated and the breakfast was a bit lame, but good enough for one night stay in Mackinaw city.

The front desk staff went over and above to accommodate, for many people. We arrived in the rain on motorcycles and she did everything she could to be helpful with room locations, early check in, and great walkable option for a super meal. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Kudos 👏

We had a fantastic visit! Stayed a couple nights. Owners were super friendly and so helpful! My husband was under the weather and they gave us some medicine! They were lifesavers! When I have to head to Mackinaw city again they I will be staying with them!

We got two rooms for our party of 5 adults. Room 116 had two comfy beds, and nice mini fridge with separate freezer, and a toilet with great flushing power. One adult had that room. Room 115, with 4 adults, had an a/c unit that sounded like a freight train, a toilet that barely flushed and got clogged, a mini fridge with freezer in the fridge section that froze half of our food, and a horrible, horrible bed that woke everyone up if you moved or dared to get up in the night. Both rooms were clean and I appreciated the new laminate floors vs. the nasty carpet in the photos online. The first two employees we encountered were very friendly and helpful. When the toilet clogged all together and we told the third employee, she said, “What do you want me to do about it?!” We eventually got a plunger to deal with it ourselves. The issue was there before we arrived and seemed to be deep in the pipes. Yet the motel wouldn’t take care of it. We made due the rest of the trip.

The location of Travelodge by Wyndham was perfect! Close to the casino, shopping, restaurants and of course, the main attraction: Big Mac Bridge and the Lighthouse!

We were looking for an inexpensive room for the night while traveling with our dog. Some hotels in Mackinaw City charge $50 for a pet. Travelodge charged $30, was adequately clean, and the room was functional. The sheets and bathroom were clean, it had a fridge and coffeemaker. The location was quiet. There was plenty of hot water in the shower. It actually served breakfast— unusual for Mackinaw City— in a cute greenhouse breakfast room. Coffee, cereals, breads, and muffins. I would not be afraid to stay here, it’s good for the price. Just don’t expect fresh paint and well maintained rooms. Service was good.

Room was big. Extra chairs in ours. That was nice. Large pool was great. A little cold on our first swim, but next day the water was warmer. No protein options for breakfast. Cereal, oatmeal, bagels and strong coffee. We enjoyed our stay.

The beds were nice, the room was nice enough. The room could definitely use detail cleaning and some minor repairs. The pool was freezing cold but in good condition. Breakfast was okay but lacking in some items (no fruit and no eggs or meats). It did have essentials...coffee, cereal, pancakes, yogurt and oatmeal. The staff was nice and friendly. Would stay again.

We had a decent stay at this place, the room was nice and clean, except the faucet of the tub which was leaking little bit all night long. Secondly our issue was with continental breakfast. The staff ran out of bagel and few other items like loaf of breads by 08:15 am, whereas the breakfast was supposed to be served up to 9 am and there was no refill of bagel. Which I though was a bummer Would advice everyone if u planned on having breakfast, please go by 6:30 to 7:30 only otherwise you gonna ran out of items

Our room had tiles that were raised as if a possible water leak had happened. The room had a very distinct odor to it as soon as you opened the door. Bathroom was very small a very very low shower head, that was not good for my 6'2 husband. Breakfast was nice and warm.

This was our worst stay in a hotel ever. The hotel is not in good condition and needs renovation ASAP. Breakfast was bad and they use coffee that makes us sick.

The place was worth it for the price. Having a bed and a shower were great and the staff were so kind. And a good working air conditioner. The reason for my rating is because the sheets were pilling, the hot water slowed down for a short period before returning, and the building itself needs much renovation.

Booked a two night stay in king jacuzzi room. Table only had one chair which was odd and required we pull table up to bed so we could both eat at same time. No hair dryer in room. Asked at desk 3 times and was told no hair dryers were available. If room did not have one, we were out of luck even though there was a hair dryer holder on the wall. Went and asked if we could be moved to a room with a hair dryer (as ridiculous and unnecessary as that sounds). Was told we could go check another room and take a dryer from there. Management-order more hair dryers for the rooms so that every room has one! You list that they do. And buy more room chairs. Breakfast buffet not really that great. Toast, muffins, donut holes. Fruit loops and Cheerios. Microwave pancakes. Yogurt. Very small biscuits and supposedly gravy. Juices and tea/coffee. We travel a lot and for the price we paid, not very value worthy. Pool was nice and parking convenient. No elevator so have to use steps to second story.
