La Quinta by Wyndham Orlando Universal area - Free Shuttle to Universal

The area around the property was great. Walking distance to Universal Entrance. The property can be better maintained, Elevators not working, old carpets etc. Breakfast was good.

The pool was not kept clean at all. Plenty of bugs and debris floating inside and on the surface of the water. If there was a pool cleaning net i could have made something work, but even that was absent.

It was close to universal studios where we were headed. They said they had a free shuttle to Universal studios. They did BUT it dropped you off arpund 8:15 and picked you up at 5. The parks close at 9pm yet the shuttle only picks you up at 5. That is ridiculous!

Comfortable stay. Clean rooms. Free shuttle to Universal leaves the hotel and 8:00am and leaves Universal at 5:30pm. That's it. You have to go by their schedule. Other than that, a pleasant stay.

Overall average hotel. Breakfast options were average. Would have been nice to have some fruit options though. Very strong chemical/cleaner smell if scents bother you. Elevator was not working, was not notified before we booked, we were on the 3rd floor, staff did carry our bags though.

They say that they do the shadow bus they only do shuttle bus at 8:00 when they take you there and 5:00 when they bring you back how they make it seem on the website that is shuttle bus all day long

The elevator was not working during our stay. Making us to use the stairs with our heavy luggage to the second floor.

Dirty pool

This was a great spot for a day at Universal. The shuttle was easy and when we didn’t come back on the shuttle, the location is so close that an uber was extremely affordable. I wished the pool had later hours (sun up to sun down) because our kids would have loved a night swim but that was the only thing I wished was different. The place is a little older but was clean. Would recommend .

Conveniently located near Universal Studios Orlando. Quiet surroundings and easily accessible. Staff was nice. Room was appealing and comfortable. Nice plush bed and slept very well. Bathroom was just fine. A/C unit worked well but a bit noisy at times. Overall everything had a clean appearance. Liked the good breakfast and parking included. Disliked that the elevator was under maintenance.

Cleanliness through out the buildings the breakfast area was very clean and was being cleaned the entire time people were using the area

We had cockroach in our room The hotel moved us to another room however we could smell the insects spay throughout the hotel and felt uncomfortable

It was wonderful as far as service and location. The price per room is excellent. I did find the breakfast section to be overly crowded with absolutely no seating. I didn’t use my complimentary breakfast while staying there. On my last day I did see a small cockroach walking on my toothbrush in the bathroom. That was a bit of a letdown. Also the water from the faucet has a peculiar smell like that of sewage. Not too strong but definitely a strange smell. Everything else I was happy with. We stayed a bunch of friends for the weekend getting 3 rooms. There are several great features like several entrance with key card and microwave and mini fridge.

The hotel may not be the fanciest but let me tell you, they are so clean! I was very impressed with the staff cleaning

As soon as I entered the room, a cockroach escaped, the toilet clogged and overflowed into the bathroom.

We booked this last minute on the way to Orlando, and I would never stay here again! Our room was covered in mold. Upon further inspection, it looked like there was mold growing on the walls, and they just painted over it. The bathroom ceiling, vents and behind the toilets had mold under the paint. I showed the receptionist the videos and pictures I took, and there was really no apology or attempt to remedy the situation. I know this is an affordable hotel, but having mold covering the room and painting over it instead of fixing it is unacceptable.

Close enough to main entertainment areas to drive—not walkable. Hotel was relatively clean but hallways smelled of mildew. Held our bags for us. Grub Hub will deliver.

The property was nice and clean but it was very noisy.

The AC made a weird noise that kept me up most of the night and the room smelled stuffy like moldy like. Other than that the staff was nice, room seemed cleaned, hotel is close to all the major shops, restaurants, and universal. The included breakfast buffet was alright saves money

This was a disappointing stay. Had two rooms which were both old and needed updating. Strong smell of deodorizer throughout. The floors between levels are paper thin and you hear every footstep - even with AirPods in the bed vibrates from the shaking of the floor above. Staff were nice but this hotel needs a big upgrade

The property sees a lot of people for sure. The shuttle service was late by about 20min. The breakfast options are very lacking. The rooms are ok, but run down for sure. For what you pay it’s a place to lay your head. Mattresses need to be replaced for sure. Or add a padding to them.

The beds were hard as a rock, the breakfast was terrible on the days they served that nasty ham which was most of the days we were there. No bacon at all. It was a place to sleep and the staff was friendly but the pool was tiny and there was nothing to do whatsoever at the hotel other than sleep.

Rooms were okay, the family next to our room was loud and it felt like there was 0 sound proofing to the rooms. We have never stayed in a hotel were you can hear every conversation including a video call, that’s how bad the sound proofing was. In addition, the breakfast was cold and ok. I wouldn’t stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The stay was comfortable. The property is older so the rooms are older too. The room was clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable too. However the pull-out sofa was very uncomfortable and noisy. Kids slept in it and they were not happy. We were on 2nd floor so we could hear people walking or running on the 3rd floor at night. Most of the cleaning staff was Portuguese so we had to use google translator to communicate with them. Good thing was that the hotel provided breakfast but it’s very basic with very limited options. The cost was lower than many other hotels that were close to Universal, had breakfast and included Wi-Fi and Parking. Overall a decent place to stay for a couple of nights. You get what you pay for.

Great staff

Internet access was great. It was easy to get on and remain on. The room was clean and tidy. The winner for me wat the staff. Our front desk attendant was kind, pleasant and extremely welcoming.

They did not clean the room everyday..

The tv would barely work from the laggy wifi. We had to put down a $100 cash deposit and didn’t get it back till our room was inspected during the check out process. Staff was kind and the building was clean enough.

Excellent service

Location was ok. Breakfast was ok not a lot of choices. When we got in our room tv was not working and phone was not working, I had to go back to the lobby to let the staff know it was inconvenient because our room was in a different building. They gave us a different room because it will take a while for the maintenance to come and we had to move our stuff to a different room, not much we can do. We checked out early and asked if we can leave our bags and pick it up later. They said they can only keep 2 carry on 2 personal items will have to pay 10$ for every 2 bags we leave

They charge a hundred dollars for a deposit and then don’t give it back.

Terrible staff

Be aware this hotel wants a $100 CASH deposit for incidentals. They may not be able to put it on a card. They also will not document that $100 of what is charged is a refundable deposit on the receipt. The place was clean, linens were good and comfortable. There’s some highway noise nearby and depending on the season, some drainage issues in the outside areas that can contribute an odor of standing water/muck.

When we got to the hotel I was charged an additional deposit which I was only informed of the day before my check-in. The elevator was out of service which I was also only informed of the day before my stay. This was already past the free cancellation date... how convenient! Check-in was very slow. When we were done with that, I specifically asked what I needed to do the next morning to get a shuttle to Universal Studios. I was told to let the front desk know 5-10 minutes in advance. The stairway and halls smell badly, and the rooms are old and worn out. The breakfast the next day was incredibly underwhelming bordering on unpalatable. When I went to the front desk to let the staff know we needed a shuttle to Universal we were told it was too late as there is only ONE shuttle there at 8:00am and only ONE shuttle back at 5:30pm (even though the park closes at 10:00pm). At this point I asked for a refund to go to a better hotel. They said they couldn't give a refund because I booked through Orbitz and to contact them. I contacted Orbitz who said they needed to contact the hotel. Then hotel told Orbitz that they had to email the hotel manager. This was Saturday morning. No one from the hotel contacted me till Sunday afternoon but only after I left a bad review. However, all they did was argue with me, make excuses and cover-your-butt statements, and they only offered to refund for the remainder of the stay which was only one more night at that point.

Excellent value for the area including free parking (harder to find in Orlando) and the included breakfast is more than you can ask for for the rate. Theres also 24/7 coffee and water refill that we loved. Was hoping it was walkable to Universal (and it is but probably 20-30 mins) and uber was $7-13 which beats universals 32$ parking rate. Rooms are as expected and a bit more dated but for the value and comfort, would stay here again without question :)

Nice property close to Universal

Location is great

This hotel is very conveniently located. Close to Universal. Easy and quick access to I4. Commute wise great. Stayed there for 3 nights with family. Felt safe. Clean horel. Little outdated or worn out at places. But all in all value for money and no complain at all. Will stay here again if we travel bsck to Orlando.

The property was at 25min walking distance from Universal studios. Overall it was a great stay. There was also a shuttle bus in the morning at 8am to Universal.

Property was clean and quiet within walking distance to Universal but downside you would have to drive to international drive which takes about 5 mins.. Definitely would stay again...

The breakfast at the hotel was subpar. Choices were limited and what they did have was not appealing to us. We did not eat at the hotel.

The room was small and out dated. There were roaches in the room, both large and small. I took video! The staff was not very friendly or helpful. The pillow cases were dirty. I got new ones. The "free breakfast" was a disgrace! Eggs, bread, ham or pork only sausage and pancakes at an out dated pan cake maker, doesn't cut it! Never again!!! You definitely get what you pay for!

Really clean and quiet, breakfast was really good

The staff was friendly! Rooms were clean. However the breakfast was not what I expected, and the coffee was bad. I left sick with my stomach, I vomited and my stomach was sick as I left the hotel. I am still settling but thank god home now!

The pool was too dirty to swim in. The hotel was a little run down and the coffee tasted like tinted water. Breakfast and shuttle included was good. Good value, however I had higher expectations.

The breakfast is not as varied and good as in other hotels of the same chain.

We stayed four nights on our trip to Universal and it worked out well overall. They had a shuttle that will drop you off (0800) and pick you up (1530) from Universal’s CityWalk each day! They clean your room every other night, which was fine for us. The breakfast was mediocre at best, and the pool was small and obviously a bit older. My biggest complaint is that after walking around the theme park all day, there wasn’t dinner options close to the hotel that you don’t have to walk to, so we ended up having food delivered each evening. That said, the beds were comfortable and there’s a small refrigerator and microwave in each room, so we were happy overall.

Overall we were satisfied with our stay. The rooms are clean, the grounds are well maintained, comfortable matrass. The breakfast was hot and fresh. The tables were cleaned and organized constantly, so people had always a table to sit and eat. There was a coffee station 24/7 in a lobby - with tea, coffee and water. Location is very convenient, easy exit to a highway.
