Congo Palace

The pool was closed, the hotel was almost empty, we had to pay extra citytax - all in all we thought it was a bit expensive and didn't have as many opportunities as we had hoped for.

Hotel definitely needs a renovation. Room was clean but old carpets and old appliances need an upgrade. On the 3rd day of our stay around 3 pm we were informed that due to some broken pipe down the street hotel has no water and that hopefully it will be fixed soon. We woke up next day to find out that we still have no water and at that point every hotel guest was frustrated. It is obvious that this was not hotel fault, however there was no management on site to be found and reception had to deal with every upset guest without any support. We were looking to change the hotel as we still had one more night at Congo Palace, when by noon water came back.

The lobby and pool very nice the rooms not so much. They need updated! My shower was horrible!

Little store next to the hotel and that hotel having parking was the best for me.

Very accomodating, breakfast and swimming pool was refreshingly good. Turn up late with extra person and problem solved with no fuss

In Glyfada is a must. Quality Price. Swimming pool awesome

My stay at this hotel was marked by an absolute lack of water — no shower, no flushing toilet, no sink water. Apparently a city pipe had burst and they couldn’t predict when it would be repaired. I understand that this was a crisis outside the hotel’s control. What I don’t understand was their total lack of customer service and efforts to assist guests. They were inflexible with the pool hours — unwilling to allow water-starved guests to enter the pool before 10:30 am. They offered bottled water, but only provided two bottles per room — hardly enough for a sponge bath. No buckets of water for toilet flushing. Asked about compensation for the inconvenience, the answer was “none.” Then they proceeded to collect 3 Euros additional tax upon check out. No offer of complimentary breakfast, partial refund, credit toward future stays, etc. Do not stay at this hotel. While the water will eventually be restored, their total lack of appreciation for customer service will surely manifest itself in other ways. And, as noted in an earlier review the attractive lobby is misrepresentative of the shabby, tired rooms upstairs. The staff members were pleasant and polite, but obviously controlled by an owner and managers with no understanding of effective business practices.

Nice and clean place, nice staff. Incredibly noisy in the hallways, especially when a horde of Americans came and had zero respect for people in bed.

It was one of my worst experiences at a hotel. The room was completely filthy, I was only going to stay for 2 nights so I did not warn the receptionists about it, I wish I did. The bathroom, especially the bath tub was so so dirty I could not take a shower. The neighborhood is very noisy, you may not be able to sleep at night due to the noise made by motorbikes until 5 am. My room card failed to work at least 5 times while I was trying to get in, so I asked the desk people to change it eveytime it did not function (which means 5 times). The pool seemed nice but I could not swim in it since I saw how dirty the WC was in my room, I could not be sure about the hygiene conditions of the pool. I did not want to get infected. I am so sorry but it was such a bad experience. Would not recommend and would not stay there again.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights and was overall quite disappointed. The main issue is the completely outdated interior. The room looked like something straight out of the 1980s – dark wooden furniture, old-fashioned curtains, and an overall charm of a long-gone era. The bathroom wasn’t any better: worn-out fixtures, yellowed tiles, and barely any space to put your toiletries. For a supposedly 4-star hotel, this is unacceptable – realistically, it’s barely 2-star standard. The room was definitely not worth €160 per night. What was particularly surprising was that housekeeping staff aren’t even provided with proper cleaning carts. Fresh bed linens and towels are transported through the hallways using supermarket shopping carts – this looks neither professional nor well-organized. On the positive side, the cleanliness was excellent, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. Both of these points deserve recognition. Unfortunately, they’re not enough to make up for the clearly outdated condition of the hotel. If you’re looking for modern comfort and good value for money, you’d be better off booking elsewhere.

Ikke videre høflig eller imødekommende personale. Hotellet er slidt, værelserne nogenlunde rene, men elevatorer, gange mv er møgbeskidte - fx lækre brugte vatpinde der ligger og flyder i elevatoren der iøvrigt er gået stykker i bunden.

We were only at the hotel for one night. The lobby and breakfast were lovely and the staff was very friendly and helpful. However the room was extremely uncomfortable. It was outdated but that doesn’t matter to us. The floor was noticeably sloping down (we were on the 4th floor). The beds were rock hard. It wasn’t even as if they were supposed to be firm mattresses. We all felt like we were sleeping on plywood. The windows did not lock properly and there were no screens. They are very large and a child could very easily hurt themselves if they were standing on the bed. Which they would being that we were in a family room (4 twin beds) two of the beds are under the two windows.

Great short term stay for 2 nights. Stayed at family room. Comfortable, clean. The promises are good and the location excellent. Next to both shopping and beach. Only minor was the street noise when occasionally, motorcycles would rev up their engines.

The 1st room we got was very old and uncomfortable. But we got switched to a renovated one that was just amazing. The staff was very flexible and accommodating.

My room looked nothing like the photos. Honestly I felt like I was in a hostel. The shower didn’t have a handle holder so you couldn’t shower without holding the nozzle, the twin bed was very basic and carpet in bad shape.

Looks great in pictures. But in person, the room had old features, air conditioning hardly worked, blow dryer from 1960s with not a lot of power. Paint peeling on trim around bathroom door. Lobby furniture fabric fraying.

Rummene er gamle og trænger til fornyelse o.el. at blive istandsat. Der var eksempelvis tydeligt slid på gulv, hul i gardiner, og intet til at holde brusehovedet. Desuden var sengen så hård som sten, og altanen var ofte fyldt med vand, jeg har ingen idé om hvor kom fra. Morgenmaden var elendig, og ville anbefale alle ikke at medkøbe dette, men gå ud på de lækre kaffesteder og købe noget der i stedet. Desuden, trods jeg boede der en uge skulle jeg hver morgen nævne mit værelses nummer. En lidt serviceminded medarbejder, ville nok lære de få til morgenmadens værelses nummer efter en dag eller 2.

Avoid This Place – Not Family-Friendly at All - s e x noises through the thin doors I stayed here with my kids and it was a terrible experience. The walls and doors are extremely thin — we could hear people screaming during se e x all day and night. It was disturbing and completely inappropriate for a family setting. When I went to management for help, they brushed it off and said, “What do you want us to do?” They even told us to just turn the TV up. Completely unprofessional and dismissive, especially since Greece has strict noise policies that are clearly being ignored here. If you’re traveling with children or want a peaceful place to rest, DO NOT stay here.

Terrible hotel, I rate the hotel less than one star, the staff very rude, don’t recommend to anyone. Never come back to this hotel again.

Love Glyfada area.

Great location. 5 minutes from the heart of Glyfada’s shopping/dining area. Some rooms are upgraded and some are not but still clean and comfortable.
