Starfish Manor Oceanfront Hotel

The Good: big jetted bath tub, beach access from adjoined property, sound of ocean thru windows, modern aesthetic upgrade, fridge, microwave, big screen TV. The Bad: room showed ocean view in ad-actually a rooftop/parking lot view, no free breakfast, bed too firm, weird water pressure in shower, electrical problems the first night of stay, USB outlet on one of the lamps didn’t work, heat only-no AC.

so we booked through expedia and that was the first mistake on our part. we specifically booked a couple months ahead to get the room we wanted with a tub on the balcony, facing the ocean. when we checked in, we were really disappointed to find NO balcony and out the window, a view of the roof of the building nextdoor. The front desk informed us they couldn't do anything about it since we booked through a third party. soooo disappointing. No AC, ice machine down, paint peeling off the walls, we had to leave the window(no screen) open the whole time to keep it cool. thankfully no seagulls found their way in. thanks starfish manor! we're doing to pelican shores next time 🙄

No food options. Everything nearby closes at 8. Bed was comfortable but pillows were basically empty sacks, no AC, fan supplied was useless, water pressure inn shower was awful, jacuzzi was nice. Balcony and view were lovely but really need a screen door to allow for the doors to remain open otherwise it’s very muggy and uncomfortable in the room

We love staying here! Its always quiet and relaxing. I wish they offered coffee in the lobby in the morning.

Been staying here for years. Great adult only hotel. Friendly staff, clean and relaxing. Only drawback is no stairs down to the beach on the property.

Beautiful view- clean facility-quiet- housekeeping staff were very nice. No supplies available- drinks, snacks, etc.

Beach access is convoluted and many steep stairs. Lobby staff are loud and boisterous all day and evening. If you have rooms near the lobby it is annoying and distracting.

Clean and comfortable. Nice balcony. Slow internet.

Great view, we were able to see a whale right from the deck of our room.. Only disappointment was no AC in the room. The room was a little too warm for our liking. Also had the privilege of smelling someone smoking joint a couple times a night. We were able to follow thst same whale down the coast.

Disappointed. I am writing this because I was told I would get a $50 credit the day of after they discovered how bad my room was & we never got it. When I checked out I asked about it they had no knowledge. I had to call two days later myself.They said they have no housekeeping. We were there for 3 days.I had to take off the sheets & get towels, & trash together to put out the door,so they would pick it up. Upon taking the sheets off I noticed that the pillows were stained extremely bad with yellow stains all over them. It was really bad. I got curious and start taking off the sheets and noticed that the sheets even had small red &;yellow stains onthem! Unacceptable. I went down immediately to the front desk told the lady She wouldn't really seem to want to look at the pictures I took and just told me they would take care of it while we were out doing activities. After spending all day out. We came back extremely tired & wanting to relax We noticed there was a bag of clean sheets & towels! They didn't even try to take care of the situation or even give us clean pillows. I took them in & decided to dress the bed by myself. Put the towels up. After I started doing that I was already disgusted with the pillows I had to still sleep on, but I noticed that the new sheets were stained yellow again and these were supposed to be clean! Also took pictures of that. I decided to call down & talk to the hotel manager. She finally had somebody from housekeeping come give us fresh pillows.

Good but not the greates one. The room kinda has some moldy smell despite we opened the window. The faucet of the bathtub was always leaking. The tub was not that clean, we had to clean it ourselves. The bed caused me some irritation and we found some black stuff on it. We cleaned ourselves because we were too tired. Generally it was 7/10. We still come back but maybe better preparation

For an adult only hotel, it was quiet and our stay was relaxing and peaceful. Views on the ocean side are lovely! However the cleanliness of the room wasn't what I expected for a 300 plus dollar room. There was popcorn kernals under the couch and ottoman. The bathroom fan sounded like it was on its last leg and you could clearly see why. There was a good quarter inch of dust/gunk built up on the vent cover. Also the shower heads had massive calcium build up that didnt allow great water flow with a spray that went many directions. While peaceful and a mostly lovely stay, I'd maybe recommend another location if you're picky on cleanliness.

The room was dirty, there was hair on the bed, tub and shower. We asked for new sheets and the said they don\'t clean the room during our stay so we had to put it on ourselves. When opening the beg of new sheets there was a long hair right on top. We showed the front desk and they were not apologetic, all they offered was for someone to come make our bed but refused to actually "clean" the room. Another thing is that the fire place gives off heat at all times, we asked the front desk and they said you can\'t fully turn it off. Other than that the room was nice.

The tub was kind of dirty (a bunch of hair in it) which is the main attraction for these rooms, but other than that it was a great stay!

For our 25th anniversary, we stayed at the Starfish Manor Hotel in the Pacific Suite for 3 nights. We hadn't taken a vacation for years and finally splurges on ourselves. We were really excited. It had a hot tub on the balcony, 2 bedrooms and was Oceanfront. For better sleep, we usually sleep in different bedrooms. It wasn't the same as the one pictured online, but it was similar. Unfortunately, when we opened the suite, the overpowering smell of musty water filled the air. The queen bedroom must have sustained major water damage before we checked in. There was white cardboard and masking tape sagging from the soggy ceiling. The carpet was still damp. There was no way either of us could have slept in there, due to the terrible smell and fear the sagging cardboard would fail and let dirty water fall on one of us. No one warned us about the damage, not even at the front desk when we checked in. At least that room had a screen on the window, so we could leave it open and air the room out. We had to keep that room closed off the whole stay. We used the outside entrance, to avoid going through the wet room. The rest of the condo had zero screens on the windows or slider. And since the hotel did not have air conditioning, we sweltered at night. I tried to sleep with a window open, but too many bugs flew in. The bed was also a huge disappointment because it was worn and had a ridge around the edge that bruised me. I spent way too much money on such a disappointing weekend.

When we xheck in on tuesday night we were told that we were been upgraded to a natica sweet instead of the sunset room we booked because the fireplace wasnt working, when we walked into the room an looked around my husband notice ants by the jetted tub and a dead fly, i took care of old rose petals he cleaned up the ants and i took care of the rose i also notice rose petals by the closet . we went to sleep that night and woke up to pounding on the other side of the of the wall, the house next to us was having work done to it and we were not informed . That at checkin the people above us were so loud, and everytime use used the toilet it would move, the jeted tub looked so dirtyblikenitnhasbr been clean jn a month, the faucet for the tube moved and the fireplwce looked broken.we called that morning before we left for the day and asked for more towels, when we came back aftwr spending the day in toen we didnt have any new towels and the okd ones were there. So twe called down and asked for new the. Did bring towels but at this point i was annoued for the quality of the room for what i was paying per jight to stay there so i walked down and told the front desk person about everythjbg she did get us a new room which was nice, but the next morning the forgot to bringnus towels after e had requested them and i was unformed that kids were alowed in 2 of the rooms on the property which i thought starfish manor was adults only. Needels to say i will not be returning.

Pros: large soaking tub, ocean view, large room Cons: dirty room, no dining options near by, no services included at all (including no housekeeping), fireplace broken -it was really nice soaking in the tub looking out towards the ocean, but probably won’t stay again. Lots of scuff marks and scratches/holes on walls. Room wasn’t very clean, you could see the areas where they didn't clean the windows. Fireplace didn’t work at all. No housekeeping, no breakfast, no beach access, no ac. Kinda disappointed in this hotel.

Bathroom was dirty. Someone else hair items still in bathroom. Shampoo/conditioner and soap empty. This is the second stay where this happened.

Great room with a fantastic ocean view,fireplace,balcony and a jacuzzi tub.

“Ocean view” was if you’re standing directly in front of the window, look left at 90 degrees and you’ll get a small view of the ocean between buildings. Also, ice machine out of order.

The rooms and furnishings including the jet tub were very nice. It is close to the beach, and the casino resort and restaurants. The hotel is very quiet and the staff were friendly. The room itself did not have a great view of the ocean, and was mostly roof of the building next door, and the windows were filthy, which was disappointing but (mostly) understandable given the location and the environment. Overall it was a positive experience and I'd stay here again.

Excellent room, and exceeded expectations! Pros: The jacuzzi bathtub overlooking the ocean was perfect. Very spacious and clean. Large walk in shower w/ 2 shower heads. Large TV with cable. Fireplace. Ocean View I still give it 5 stars but the only Cons I’ll point out is the Glass panels on the balcony railings. It gets dirty and foggy from the sea air and when you’re sitting down in the chairs on the balcony your view of the ocean is obstructed by dirty glass. Standing up fixes that though lol Pillows were pretty soft and flimsy and I need something a little firmer and dense. Awesome stay overall and would stay again!

The staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable.

The bathtub next to the windows looking out over the ocean was incredible!

My only real complaint is how dirty the glass was on the patio. The ocean view wasn't available through those. We tried washing ours so we could see, but it was so grimy it smeared all around.

We checked out early (and front desk staff didn't care why or ask.) Floors and walls thin and noisy. Upstairs person shooting fireworks off balcony. Bed hard and uncomfortable. Pillows lumpy. Nice location. But at the price they charge, much better options available on the same block.

This place is truly awesome, so I really hate giving it four out of five stars. But the beds are awful. On our second night, I had to ask for extra pillows so hopefully I’d sleep better. Nope. Woke up several times in the night because the bed was so hard and uncomfortable. In fact, I probably wouldn’t stay there again unless they got new mattresses. Other than that, it was a fantastic stay. Super clean, friendly staff, gorgeous view, and wonderful in room jacuzzi!

Fabulous hotel! We stayed for just one night but can’t wait to go back for longer. The staff was so friendly and helpful too. 100 recommend for a quiet peaceful stay in Lincoln City.

Staff was very rude

Check in was ok, checked out the room and then went out for a few hours. When we came back and time to relax, there was no tv remote. Talked to front desk and they said it’s in there somewhere. Went to front desk and they handed me a remote that turned the tv on/off nothing else. Could not turn on cable. Went back to front desk for the fourth time and tried switching rooms. No rooms available but there were in fact many rooms available because we called and checked!!! Said they would comp part of our stay and they never did. It may sound petty but when you pay almost $300 for a room and you can’t watch tv? Not ok!!!

Don't try to book through their phone number. The woman I spoke to not only was very rude and hung up on me but kept trying to give me different prices for the room which were much higher than what I was seeing online. Otherwise, the hotel is in the process of being updated and it was nice, clean, and on-site staff were friendly. The room was comfortable and the ocean views were fantastic.

Excellent hotel, clean rooms and friendly staff

I let the front desk person know my room to 102 would not close, the door was wide open when I entered. The room is one of two rooms that you enter from the parking lot, is not inside the hotel. I understand that the reservation could not be changed due to third party booking which is fine, totally understandable but the clerk just shrugged his shoulders and said nothing he could do about the room not locking. As a solo traveler this is not ok to check into an open room that opens into the parking lot and the door does not lock. I travel for work to Lincoln city each week, sadly I won’t be coming back.

The Starfish itself is a great location with beautiful rooms and typically clean. This stay was different. We checked in to a reservation we had made 2 months prior to a room located next to the lobby. So many people’s voices and slamming of doors. This property is adults only, no animals and no drugs of any kind. Our room had a weed vape visible on the sofa so clearly our room was not cleaned properly. Upon check out we were called at 11:07 to inform us check out was 11. Johnathan was rude and condescending on this call. Our room was $437 and I am quite sure 7 minutes does not make a difference. We have stayed at the properly multiple times and now we will be exploring the entire Oregon Coast and moving along. Thank you Starfish for the experiences prior to this time.

Lively room, nice new decor and extras. Great for a romantic getaway. Robes, dual head shower, very comfortable bed, Good pillows. Covered parking. Right on the beach!

We really liked being right on the beach with a full ocean view and deck. Loved that the room is spacious and has a fireplace and tub in the main living area. Also, liked that there is a safe, fridge, and microwave.

Location is great! We didn’t get an ocean view like we did last time, but it is a very nice property. Request an Ocean view. It makes a big difference. I got an early check-in, which was very nice!

We love how clean everything is. Rooms are very comfortable. You are higher priced tham most motels, and yet no breakfast served. This would be a nice addition. Love the facility.

Very nice hotel on the beach. No direct beach access. Loved the bathroom, water pressure was great. Bed was very comfortable. No coffee in the lobby offered.

No coffee in the lobby had to drive to Coffee shop Boooooo. Also I couldn't plug in my hair dryer or curling iron!!! What's up with that?

No breakfast at the property but some nice brunch places around town.

Having the big tub in the room was nice. The bed was not the most comfortable. The staff were pretty disengaged but not rude. No breakfast there and only coffee in the room. Would be really nice to have a local coffee brewed in the lobby.

We loved and enjoyed our stay. The only downfall was the lack of amenities in the actual lobby. The giant jetted tub in our room made up for no pool, but there were no snacks and there was no free breakfast or even any breakfast option and when you pay that much money for a hotel It’s a little disappointing!

Fantastic ocean front views! It would be 5 out of 5 if can provide free breakfast options.
