My recent stay at the La Quinta Inn & Suites in Morgan City, Louisiana, was unfortunately marred by a number of significant issues that made for a less than comfortable experience. While the bed itself offered a decent night's sleep, the numerous shortcomings throughout the rest of the room and hotel were quite disappointing. Firstly, upon arrival, we were informed that **the elevator was out of service**. This immediately presented an inconvenience, and I must admit I **didn't understand why we were assigned a second-floor room** given this known issue. Lugging our bags up the stairs was an unwelcome start to our stay. Once we reached our room, the condition of the furnishings was concerning. Both the **furniture and the refrigerator door were noticeably stained**, giving an immediate impression of uncleanliness and neglect. This lack of attention to basic upkeep was unsettling. The **bathroom was particularly less than desirable**. The overall cleanliness was questionable, and the **tub was visibly dirty**, making it unappealing to use. This is a fundamental aspect of a hotel room that should be held to a higher standard. Beyond the immediate furniture and bathroom, other details further detracted from the experience. The **exterior of the windows was quite dirty**, obstructing the natural light and view. Furthermore, the **carpet throughout the room had several noticeable stains and even rips**

No phone in the room, TV didn’t work, furniture looked like junk.the access door nearest my room didn’t work because the scanner was ripped off wall, so I always had to go all the way around through lobby entrance to enter. Needed ice but no ice bucket in room and the only ice machine in building was apparently broke, I could go on. TERRIBLE!

Pool was green and they did not have a room as promised. They told me a room would be ready at 3:00, then 6:00, then 9:00, then finally at 10:00pm they called me and said there would be no room and couldn’t help me. I was in town for a funeral and was far from home. Imagine trying to find a room that late at night.

Pool area nasty and the piil needs to be refinished at the bottom. Makes it look nasty and dirty! Not one lounge chair by the pool was not broken! Please consider sprucing up the breakfast area and the breakfast itself!

This hotel is so gross and disgusting it might as well be a run down drive-up motel. Where to start on this horrible experience. The door locks didn't work to the doors on the side of the building so they were constantly propped open or not latched. The updated rooms were dirty with rusty appliances, extremely loud cooling / heating unit. Customer service was beyond rude. Laundry services were also broken. Ice machines were broken. The refrigerator in the room was also broken. We payed the fee to check in early, and decided we couldn't stay there and hotel management was beyond rude, and refused to give us our money back. Instead, they made us pay for the early check-in fee and a whole day, and when you call the corporate number to complain they tell you there's nothing they can do and it's completely up to the business manager. This hotel while looks nice from the outside is extremely deceiving. It is an absolute garbage dump that should be avoided at all costs, unless you like overpaying for a stinky, loud, broken down, dilapidated room that makes you feel as though you'll be going home with bed bugs. I should have taken other reviewers advice on here and just avoided. STAY AWAY!!

When we first got there, we were not allowed to have a key because the key machine was broken and someone had to open the door for us every time we left the hotel. The cleaning lady was amazing in front desk really tried to make our stay great. There was no butter the next morning for my waffles which was devastating since I don’t use syrup lol the coffee was kind of bland. There was no tub stopper, and the lady told me just to stick a rag in it. But overall, the people made the stay great.

I've stayed at allot of LA quinta with great results, but My wife specifically stated that we won't be staying there again at the Morgan city one. It was not that horrible, but she found hair all on the bed. When we got there, it took until after midnight to get to room cool enough to fall asleep, the ac unit looked like it was dirty and freezing up. My wife and son went to the pool the next day, she says there was plenty of broken flooring near the pool to cut your feet, and the lounge chairs were broken, she sat in the only good one, only for it to break and she fell back onto to concrete. So it definitely needs some updating. Not there fault, but you could hear guest running up and down the halls and slamming doors all night.

First off I stayed here only because I read & was told the remodeled the rooms. All I saw that was done was the floors. We went to put items in the fridge & the door handle fell off. Went for front desk; and was told the maintenance guy couldn’t come to Monday to fix it given this was Friday. Never offered a room till the next morning. They had no shampoo & was told they were completely out. Not big deal at all, however when I asked for more towels twice & never got them?! Our second night I was walking my dogs & a group of 10 people showed up with ice chest, food & music all headed to the pool. I clearly asked them to please keep it down. It was going on 10:00. I called the front desk twice; last time was around 1:30 in the morning. Asking she could please get them settled down screaming kids down the hall people slamming doors. The noise never stopped. When we got up started packing the room my girlfriend was itching all over her legs. She had bites all over her. We inspected the beds and they were disgusting. I do not know how this place can still be open. It’s disgusting!! I reported a claim to corporate and still haven’t heard anything further from them. Very disappointed!!

It was not clean. Behind chair were pieces of paper ,busted balloons and who knows what else.I was not putting my hands it it. There could have been a needle in it. I had to leave room to go to front desk BECAUSE there are NO phones in room. the refrigerator was ice over so bad it wasn't working right. Free breakfast consist of scramble egg, bread ,cereal, one type milk a couple pastries.No fresh fruit,no waffle batter ,No kinds of juices, no kind of meat, no biscuit and gravy and etc. Was a Great price per night. Bath room had a toilet seat that moved , no Bars around tub , tub VERY slipper, chipped ,stopper broken and laying aside, and no place to put your soap,shampoo bottle or face towel. Facets on laboratory was glued together. Wall receptacles with no covers

Let me start by saying the staff is polite and helpful and as professional as they can be. But the condition of this property is in dire straits. It is very run down. From the hallways, bathrooms, rooms, etc. And the worst part of all is the roaches. Not talking a cockroach or two which can happen in the south. I'm talking infestation. Little to medium sized ones. Lots. Don't bring and food in the room. They will swarm. We bright a poyboy back from the labor day festival. Didn't get a chance to eat it so say it on the tv stand. It was in a Styrofoam container. Woke up the next morning and it was covered in roaches. My husband had a thermos of coffee from the night before. They'd crawled in there too. They were even in the bathroom just in the tub. I was glad we were checking out that morning. We ran outta there so quick. Please note there had been NO FOOD in the room at all prior to that night. We only stayed two nights. Please get an exterminator.

Do NOT stay at this location, not even the parking lot. Everything here is from the 70's and hasn't been cleaned or repaired since. The carpet has stains on it ,housekeeping only cleaned our room one day out the four days that we were there. only saw one person at the front desk the entire time we were there it was the night we checked in and he was very polite. Don’t remember his name.

The front desk clerk was very kind. We entered the room and the TV was on. The shower didn’t work properly. Part of the water was pouring out of the tub faucet. Thery were out of most of the hot breakfast items. The room was clean and the bed was ok

I never give a bad review on a hotel. The curtains were hanging broken and open. The hot tub was filthy and had literal pubic hair in it and all on the filter itself. When going to shower there was no water pressure and was nut sufficient for washing hair. The shower head and handle was ZIP TIED to the bracket. No phone in the room and they do not answer the phone to help solve any issues. This was without a doubt the worst hotel stay I've ever had anywhere.

No phone in the room, TV didn’t work, furniture looked like junk.the access door nearest my room didn’t work because the scanner was ripped off wall, so I always had to go all the way around through lobby entrance to enter. Needed ice but no ice bucket in room and the only ice machine in building was apparently broke, I could go on. TERRIBLE!

First off I stayed here only because I read & was told the remodeled the rooms. All I saw that was done was the floors. We went to put items in the fridge & the door handle fell off. Went for front desk; and was told the maintenance guy couldn’t come to Monday to fix it given this was Friday. Never offered a room till the next morning. They had no shampoo & was told they were completely out. Not big deal at all, however when I asked for more towels twice & never got them?! Our second night I was walking my dogs & a group of 10 people showed up with ice chest, food & music all headed to the pool. I clearly asked them to please keep it down. It was going on 10:00. I called the front desk twice; last time was around 1:30 in the morning. Asking she could please get them settled down screaming kids down the hall people slamming doors. The noise never stopped. When we got up started packing the room my girlfriend was itching all over her legs. She had bites all over her. We inspected the beds and they were disgusting. I do not know how this place can still be open. It’s disgusting!! I reported a claim to corporate and still haven’t heard anything further from them. Very disappointed!!

Being a brand hotel we were disappointed with the lack of up keep needed in the room. Overall the furniture has been well worn. I had to rehang the curtains for privacy. The drawers were sticky on the outside. The tub had several chips in the porcelain. The bed and bedding were very low standards. The sofa was well worn. The room phone was inoperable. Hair dryer not readily available in room because of theft but available upon request. The staff was pleasant and the complimentary breakfast was okay.

Paid for a whirlpool suite. Whirlpool overflow was broken and controls had been jury rigged to make them work. Shower curtain was too short, allowing water to run out into floor. Large slick tiles were used in the bathroom, making the process of standing on a wet floor very unsafe. The bracket in the shower meant to hold up the hand held device was broken, thus it had to be held at all times, or let it hang and use the other shower head that was at neck level. The smoke detector was falling off the wall; just being held up by it's wiring. The TV would work a few minutes and then signal loss would come up on the screen for anywhere from 30 seconds to many minutes. The ONLY good thing? I didn't see any bugs. Morgan city should take a cue from Bowling Green Kentucky La Quinta. I know that this hotel chain has the ability to do a good job, but it seems some care and some don't. This place was also in the top three most expensive places we stayed at on this 19 day trip. SMH

I've stayed at allot of LA quinta with great results, but My wife specifically stated that we won't be staying there again at the Morgan city one. It was not that horrible, but she found hair all on the bed. When we got there, it took until after midnight to get to room cool enough to fall asleep, the ac unit looked like it was dirty and freezing up. My wife and son went to the pool the next day, she says there was plenty of broken flooring near the pool to cut your feet, and the lounge chairs were broken, she sat in the only good one, only for it to break and she fell back onto to concrete. So it definitely needs some updating. Not there fault, but you could hear guest running up and down the halls and slamming doors all night.

They told me a room would be ready at 3:00, then 6:00, then 9:00, then finally at 10:00pm they called me and said there would be no room and couldn’t help me. I was in town for a funeral and was far from home. Imagine trying to find a room that late at night.

The property is very out dated! The king suite was not clean or stocked properly before we arrived. The lady behind the desk came and cleaned and stocked up for us. She deserves 5 stars! The shower heads were just laying, the second head was broken. Made taking a shower lots of fun. Beds are so uncomfortable, our backs were so sore waking up every morning.

I booked a suite that showed as being available but upon checking in, they informed me that it's been booked "for months". They put me into a double queen room instead and offered no partial refund for the extra I paid for the more expensive room. There was a also persistent beep from a smoke detector down the hall. The location is good though. Close proximity to a gas station and a good Mexican restaurant.

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my children and I. Very attentive and great communication. This is my 4th time at this hotel in the last few months with both work and personal travel. I have tried other hotels in the area, that are around the same rate, and found them subpar. Very quiet and safe area. Easy access to the entire city within a 5 minute drive. Massive park a few blocks down, with an equally as large handicap park attached to it. It is also covered by the bridge, so rainy days are NOT an issue!

The La Quinta was a great choice of stay. Clean rooms and a helpful staff. Located in the center of town, by an East West running interstate ramp, and next to a good food place, near gas stations, and some lights entertainment. It has a pool and exercise room. Good area between the two main roads through Morgan City. Rates by night are very reasonable.

It was not clean. Behind chair were pieces of paper ,busted balloons and who knows what else.I was not putting my hands it it. There could have been a needle in it. I had to leave room to go to front desk BECAUSE there are NO phones in room. the refrigerator was ice over so bad it wasn't working right. Free breakfast consist of scramble egg, bread ,cereal, one type milk a couple pastries.No fresh fruit,no waffle batter ,No kinds of juices, no kind of meat, no biscuit and gravy and etc. Was a Great price per night. Bath room had a toilet seat that moved , no Bars around tub , tub VERY slipper, chipped ,stopper broken and laying aside, and no place to put your soap,shampoo bottle or face towel. I personally made and paid for my niece and her husband to spend three days here to help with funeral plans. First, no keys clerk had to use his key to open door, first night they said icemaker had to be cleaned, never was for three days. Was told truck never delivered breakfast, that excuse extended three days also. Sad time to get sad accommodations.Any or all of the $255.93 refund would be greatly appreciated especially now. Thank you.

The property itself was fine, but our t v would not work in our room. We went down and reported it, and the lady at the front desk came to our room and attempted to try to fix it but she was not able to. We were not able to watch any regular t v stations. She just suggested that we watch either youtube or amazon prime because we could put in our code and use the tv that way. I asked if it would be possible to move to another room and she just Continued to mess with the t v and never gave us a straight answer. We were gonna actually be out of our room for most of the evening.So we just let it go, But if we were going to be in our room all evening, we would have definitely had her move us to another room.

I asked if it would be possible to move to another room and she just Continued to mess with the t v and never gave us a straight answer. We were gonna actually be out of our room for most of the evening.So we just let it go, But if we were going to be in our room all evening, we would have definitely had her move us to another room.

The hotel is under renovations and the entite place reaks of paint and co struction fumes. They were activily paintjng while we were there. Luckily we were only there for a short time. The construction crew kept knocking the tv signal.put and parking in the handicap ♿️ spata. The funesgave me a slight headache and made me nauseas

The property is dated, however the new owners appear to be sinking a lot of time, money, and effort into the property and renovations. Once done, I'm sure it will be a great place to stay. Kudos to the welcoming and helpful staff! On a side note, Expedia staff is terrible. Customer service at Expedia is the least helpful of about any company I have ever dealt with. Both myself and hotel management had a terrible time trying to communicate with them when there was a system glitch at checkin. NEGATIVE stars for Expedia (once again).
