Brentwood inn & Suites - Lynchburg

I stayed at this location one night and booked the room based upon the "very good" status on hotels.com. I can tell you that those reviews are fake. This motor inn is about a 6.5 out of 10. There are still renovations going on but the room I had was "updated" the update meant the usb charging location did not work, The door had gaps that you could see light through, the light switches were so filthy you did not want to touch them, the train rolled through with enough frequency to wake you up and the room faced a busy travel way. This was also my first experience with having no one at the front desk, I dealt with a person via a kiosk and computer screen. They said there was a breakfast but I didn't see it and frankly would not have eaten it anyway. Don't even get me started on the renovation. One by six screwed to the wall, pop corn ceiling by someone who obviously didn't know what they were doing and no guide to the tv channels. When I first arrived late in the afternoon there were only a few cars in the lot and as the evening went on the lot filled with construction crews, so that should give you the idea of what type of motel this is. At the rate charged I would not consider it a budget motel hence the harsher reviewer. If it had been priced for the quality it would been more in line with a $65 per night stay and that might be generous. Oh and don't let the fact that it is a branded motel make you assume there is a level of quality. They must have just bought into a name.

Better than I expected for the price… the mattress was a little stiff but I was solo traveling so maybe I had anxiety falling asleep. Pretty close to the “high way” but otherwise quiet. Good towels and TV.

We were only in the room for an hour when we found bedbugs on a pillow. We packed up and left. The hotel did give us a full refund.

Upon first arriving, I was greeted by the kiosk for my check-in. It was a screen with a person working remotely to help me through the check-in process. That went well however, it made me question whether there was anyone even at the hotel. I didn’t see anyone at the property when I first checked in. Later I did see staff on the property. The rooms are pretty outdated which is fine but we were hit with quite a smell as we entered the room. The blankets smelled like a wet dog. The air conditioning could certainly use some improvement as well. The towels in the bathroom had black fuzz and makeup stuck to them. The walls and the floors were absolutely thin as paper. We could hear everything going on around us. The breakfast provided was pretty dismal as well. If you are looking for a place to spend the night for one night as you’re passing through town and come in with the understanding that you’re not staying at a five star hotel, or even maybe a two star hotel, then this would probably be fine. We had to stay for two nights and had I known what I know now I would not have stayed there.

The room was less than clean. There was rice on the desk lamp. Dried rice, so not new. The bathroom floor was very sticky. Overall, not worth the price charged.
