Hampton Inn Rawlins

The pool area needs some tlc

Hotel was in fine shape other than the fact that almost all of the fitness room equipment was broken or in need of maintenance. For my daily run I resorted to going for a run outside thru Rawlins where I had to brave the testorone-driven trucks and other hazardous drivers as well as dodge the loose, stray dog that seem to hate anyone not driving in a vehicle. The weather was fine for it but there are plenty of risks taken when you go for a run in a town you are unfamiliar with. It sure would have been nice if either of the treadmills in the "fitness" room were operational. One didn't even turn on and had some nuts and bolts sitting on the console tray. The other one seemed to work at walking speed but when you ramped up to running speed it would stutter and stop as you were trying to run. Obviously these machines were purchased many years ago and have not been maintained. The only new piece of equipment is the Peloton bike, but I don't pay for that service so it was rather useless for me.

At check in, the front desk staff was professional. The building and my room were clean. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The front desk staff pointed out that there is a side entrance door for guest to use that would be convenient for us, since our room was close by. We parked by it and tried using our card key to enter. The light kept flashing yellow. Then I pulled on the door and it just opened. The door is completely missing the locking mechanism and ANYONE could enter the building. This seems very unsafe in this day and time. I expected better security for the price.

Easy to reach location. Several restuarants in area to choose from. Excellent hot breakfast. Everything was clean and beds were very comfy. Check in was smooth and everything was very clean. The pool and hot tub inside were a nice option and the gym was also nice. There is a small convience store by the main register and coffee, tea and hot chocolate always free and available. They need a couple more rolling carts to move luggage, I believe but that is all. Great stay and nice, friendly staff!

Great place with noodles restaurant/take out and Subway less than a block away. Only concerns were parking lot was a bit rough and luggage carts seemed in short supply, (but the later may have been due to inconsiderate folks keeping carts overnight, etc.). Used nice pool and fitness room and the breakfast was fine.

This hotel is a great stay. Our room was clean and the facility looked great. The staff was kind and helpful. I was a little uneasy with two of the exterior doors not latching. They have card readers on them but do not latch so one does not have to use them.

The room and the facility were fine except for two items: One of the reasons I chose a room at this hotel was tobhave a pool for the grandkids on our vacation - the pool was closed. No warning or heads up before we arrived. Second - there were not enough luggage carts to have one available for our departure. Waited more than 30 minutes, and ended up making 3 trips to the car to get our family's luggage from the room to the car.

The food was good. The hot tub was disappointing. The knob was broken so there were pliers there. A sign said you couldn’t turn it more than half way. Because they were heavy, the jets only stayed on for a few minutes. And the room the pool was in was REALLY loud.

Elevators didn’t work. Had to turn on hot tub jets with a pair of pliers not very clean. Blood on blanket on one of the beds.

Pricey! But a much better alternative than the Days Inn. The rooms were clean. Bed very comfortable. The pool was out of order. Nice breakfast included with the room

Our stay was awesome! This hotel is very convenient as it is right off the interstate. The hotel is super clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious as well. Would highly recommend!

Newer hotel. Spotless. Plenty of bedding and towels. Front desk friendly and directed us to a place for dinner. Travel 25-30 nights a year, would definitely return. Paid a little extra for a bigger room and it was as big as a one bedroom suite. Lots of new hotels have opened all along I80 in the past 8 years. They are much nicer.

It's the best hotel in Rawlins, but the dirtiest Hampton I've stayed in.

It was a very nice place, a bit more pricey than other places in the area. The only thing about Hampton Inn (we stayed at 2 on our trip) they seem to have issues with their TV service. We were hoping for some kids stations for our kids to watch in the evening before bed to calm them down & neither worked along with some other stations. The other location was able to reset the TV & fix it. This location said the tech guy wasn’t there & they had to wait for him to fix it. I would think it would be as simple as resetting the TV server. The breakfast was great with lots of choices. Great location you can walk to food places, gas station, & Walmart. The one door to the outside was broken & unlocked so you didn’t have to use a card to get in. Other than that our room was spacious, clean & comfortable.

We will keep this one on our list so we can remember next time. Comfy, comfy comfy! Lovely room, nice staff, clean and well kept.

We came down for a football game. We got a suite and that made such a difference. The room was huge. My son slept on the pull out couch and said it was almost as comfy as his own bed. Super clean. Will stay here again for sure.

This stay was far inferior to what we expected from the reviews posted. The front desk was unmanned when we came in, the room appliances (frig and lights) were barely functional in some cases, and I don’t think they invested anything in soundproofing. We heard the people above running around until midnight, and then a pleasantly (not) incessant dog barking at 6am instead of our planned wake up. Not what you want from a one and out stopover room.

he bed was horribly uncomfortable. i couldn't shower because I couldn't control the water temperature without getting under the spray. other than those 2 things, it was good. Decent breakfast.

Clean room, good breakfast! There is no thermostat but wires sticking out of the wall where it would normally be. No real temperature control, so room was not as comfortable as it could have been. The room wall is also too thin, the man next door came to knock our door to be quiet!!

The bedding isn’t very soft and it’s so loud at night . They gave us a room right next to elevator and we heard so many people all night .

Stayed in a room that I can only suppose was to far away from the office to have internet. Signal was fine when I stood at the office counter but undetectable in the room. We inquired about the problem and was told that they would investigate and call us later. NO CALL ever came.

My wife surprised me with a suite this last night of traveling. It was nice having a chair and couch for sitting. There were fresh cookies but for anyone checking in after us we did get the last two. Parking lot was crowded a bit. Carpet in the room is old and room needs updated but still was nice and roomy. The breakfast was scrambled eggs (powdered) and the meat was Kielbasa. I enjoyed it but I'm not a fan of powdered eggs. Overall I would definitely stay here again.

Easy to locate, but when i went to check in, no one was at the front desk. Had to ring a bell several times. Then our cardkey didnt work and when i went to get it fixed, again no one at the desk. Rang the bell several more times.

Great place to stay. There was an issue with the reservation. I had to show my expedia confirmation email. They still told me they could not find the reservation, then was told to cancel it. So I tried to cancel the reservation and I was not able to. Hampton told me that there was nothing they could do about it. Hampton started to find another room when the lady next to him found our reservation. This took about 20 min. I dont think my expedia account even reflected we stayed there.

Front desk stays was absolutely amazing. Helped with dinner ideas and just overall where to go for whatever we needed! Room was very clean and was amazing! Only issue we had was there was only one Kleenex in the box and only one roll of tp- but not big enough of an issue to make a complaint and we were on our way out. But still very awesome!

Lobby music outside the front of the building, on a speaker - cannot be controlled, apparently.   It plays ALL night long.  If you’re staying here and your room is south facing towards the entrance, you get to enjoy that music ALL NIGHT!!   Even through the Wyoming winter wind, you can hear it in your room.  At 3am I called to the front desk.  She says she can’t turn it off, nor can they can’t turn it down.   She said, “It’s like Walmart but it’s a Hilton thing and we can’t do anything and we can’t move you because you booked your room through a third party.” I used Hotels.com. Because we didn't book with them direct, they weren't willing to do ANYTHING. Our room was one of the handicap rooms, even though they had others available, they refused to move us or turn the music down.  I leave a lot of great reviews - this one is an accurate account of the situation. I travel with a sound machine. We heard the guitar strumming of the music OVER the sound machine in our room and we were on the second floor. I asked for a late check out. It's normally 11am. They said 11:30 then called the room twice to be sure I was out. Wow. My late check out with BonVoy is 4pm. If you want to be treated like a deadbeat because you booked with Hotels.com and not directly with the hotel, and If NOT sleeping is your goal - THIS is your place to stay!!!!

The property was fantastic in every way! However, upon checking in I was informed that because I booked my reservation with a third party (Expedia), which have done for about 20 years, I now cannot earn Hilton Honors points. This is a new change that is completely unfair.

They were having issues with their credit card processing machine. The manager seemed a bit reluctant to help resolve the issue. She helped only after the attendant tried multiple times to no avail.

The entire staff was friendly and accommodating.

The front desk gal was very friendly and social. Everything is very clean and comfortable as we have come to expect from Hampton Inns.

Great Location close to some restaurants. Downtown was only like 2 miles it was so cool. Clean room, beds were so comfortable. Breakfast was good. Pool and hot tub were clean.

Nice location and easy access to freeway. Clean and spacious room.

Conveniently located off I-80

This location is quiet since it doesn’t back up to the railway tracks. The staff are very friendly and I have stayed here every time we’ve driven through the area (4x’s in the last 9 months). It’s a safe location that is easy to get off & on the highway since the road is wide with a red light at the corner. The only issue you might experience is the pot holes on the road in front of the hotel, but that’s not really something the hotel can control ( just don’t come in on 2 wheels).

Breakfast could be better. Potatoe heating pan overfilled, top potatoes were lukewarm. Sausage was lukewarm. Why shut down at 9:00 AM, your competition closes the breakfast at 10:00.

The room was good. Very comfortable. The hotel had a pool and a small gym which we used. The breakfast was poor, highly processed food, served on disposable plates with disposable cutlery

Our room was very clean, service was great! Breakfast was really good, a wide variety to choose from, hot or cold.

Glad to find a nice Hilton property in a remote small town like Rawlins. Friendly staff. But breakfast items were over cooked and not readily replenished. And property is starting to age and furnishings are starting to look worn. It happens to all hotels. Hopefully will be renovated in the next couple of years. That being said, everything was perfectly clean and more than adequate. I'd stay again if in Rawlins, no problem.

Everything was fine. Coffee wasn’t ready in the morning and eggs weren’t good but otherwise just fine.

Breakfast was excellent...the room was very clean!

It was adequate, but just barely. And was definitely not worth the price! The bathroom was in poor shape. The shower floor was slick, tiles in the shower were cracked, and the sink was cracked. The bed was uncomfortable and had definitely seen better days. I could feel every spring. The poor girl doing breakfast was about 45 minutes late getting it out because the person who normally did it had called out. The staff were nice enough, but the entire hotel desperately needs to be cleaned and updated.
