The Eden has a fun retro vibe to it, and its location across Ocean Ave from the beach is cool. Other than these two features, I couldn’t justify paying $600/night for the room we had. Yes, it was nice and spacious, however it was incredibly bare: no coffee maker in the room, no tissues by the bed, none of the simple things you’d expect in this type of establishment. The grout in the bathroom needs to be redone, there was one small plastic trashcan in the bathroom. Our room also happened to be above a side street where a farmers market was apparently being held early in the morning, and I was awoken by very noisy delivery trucks at 4:30AM… Not the best start to our quiet California vacation as I’d hoped, but thankfully we only stayed there 1 night and moved to a better hotel in a different neighborhood. Overall, cool but definitely not one of the best hotels as I’d read online.
