The hotel as nice and peaceful and the staff were very pleasant. The only downside was that there was only 1 lift which made it a little more difficult to get to out room but no real problem.

Overall, a fabulous stay. I was taking part in a 2 day sport event nearby. Gorgeous location and such a charming building. Check in welcome was delightful and I was given an upgrade to a suite which was huge with fabulous sea views and very OTT fairytale furniture- I felt like Belle in beauty and the beast! I used the pool which was lovely and quiet, the hot tub hasn’t worked for some time and the sauna and changing rooms are tired. But I was grateful for the facilities. My issue was that there was a function that evening with a live band followed by dj and j was directly above. The music was so loud I couldn’t watch the tv, let alone try to sleep. The band were fabulous and had I not been desperate for sleep I would have tried to join the function! But it really did prevent the restful evening I needed. I did call the night porter who let me know the music would finish at 11:30, which it did shortly after, but it meant I got very little sleep and was up and away early the next day. Service at breakfast was fabulous and check out experience was good, with the receptionist apologising for the noise . I would definitely return, but would check for functions and room location.

Everything was fine. The wifi was a bit slow and clunky, the lift was very slow, just the one for such a big hotel. The breakfast set up was good, the room was comfortable and quiet. I would stay there again if I were in the area.

As it was our wedding anniversary I booked a night at the Falmouth Hotel. The hotel position is fantastic, overlooking the sea and Castle Beach. The place is undergoing renovation and repairs as it is a little tired (built in the 1800's), however mostly good to very good service with new owners only a few months ago!! Breakfast was good, bar service good but quite expensive, bar lounge comfortable with some furnishings a little well used. I would stay again in the future.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the beach and an easy walk into town. The lounge area and dining rooms are pleasant. Dinner and breakfast were good although rather pricey. Service for drinks in the lounge wasn’t great but dinner was better. The biggest issue is that it is an old property that hasn’t been updated in a long time. Bathroom was pretty old with split flooring and old bath included. The spa area was dirty, old and not fit for purpose with incredibly noisy boiler humming, areas zoned off and not a staff member to be seen. Lockers didn’t work and we were given a towel each but no robe or slippers for the grubby floor. Couldn’t find a water station either. Definitely not an area for relaxing. We had a quick swim and got out.

A beautiful hotel, lovely position and nice staff. We had just got married and had complimentary bucks fizz at breakfast and a bottle of bubbly, which we thought was a lovely gesture. The food was great although we would of liked beans with the breakfast. The jacuzzi wasn't working which was unfortunate but the pool and steam room were great. Also it is very convenient to get to town or the beaches. Overall a beautiful place to stay and we would love to visit again.

Lovely room lots of character, friendly staff, some areas showing how old the building is! Sauna and swimming pool in need of TLC gym good.. breakfast excellent, overall we had a really lovely stay and hopefully will be able to return at another time..

Good ole fashioned comfort, big squishy settees in the lounge. Swimming pool is a good size and shape. Breakfast was great, room comfortable and quite quiet. Lovely view's across the lawns to the sea. Good position for restaurants and town by foot (useful as I can imagine parking issues in the busy periods) local history is immense! Pendennis is well worth a visit

The Falmouth Hotel is a beautiful old building, conveniently situated on the seafront with magnificent views. Our room was extremely spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The dining room staff were very friendly and helpful. Some of the building appears very tired looking and could do with an update.

The outside of the Falmouth Hotel was very welcoming and looked lovely. We checked in smoothly with very helpful staff. We stayed in room 115 and was disappointed at the overall decor of the room. It looked tired and could do with extra cleaning around the windows and the door needed to be completed ie paint. There were also stains on the carpet. Unfortunately attention to detail wasn't there. The room was extremely hot, making it uncomfortable. We did use the fan supplied which was noisy at night. The bar and lounge area looked nice and appealing and the outside area was lovely with plenty of tables.

Jacuzzi has yellow water and the chemical smell makes you think you might go blind, the changing rooms for the pool are extremely filthy with the amount of hair there I’d be able to make myself a wig, if not several, no keys for the lockers. Odd stain on the pillow thanks lord it was one of the decorative ones. Asked for the room to be serviced after discovering a blood stain on the sheets, came back at 1pm room was not attended to, came back again at 5pm room yet again not serviced, 7pm the room was attended to, finally. The breakfast staff very jolly and nice, same with reception. Poor choice of food within the hotel restaurant, breakfast options ok nothing crazy, your typical restaurant choice of food. Overall not clean but at least people are nice.

The total experience from arrival to departure was made extremely enjoyable by the interactions with the hotel team. From reception to bar and dining room staff, everything was just as I expected from a hotel of this standard. High standard of cleanliness of the room, good facilities, with a very comfortable bed.

We arrived at the hotel late evening. Check in was easy, "Oh yes, double room, inland view, breakfast included, room 115", all very efficient. Up to our room, very clean and tidy, dumped the bags and back down to the lounge bar to relax after our 400 mile drive. 10 minutes later a call from reception, was our room ok? Yes, what we'd seen was ok., thank you. On returning to the room we realised that you had to slide sideways to get between the bed and wall to get into the bed from the other side, ducking under the TV shelf on the way. Opening the curtains in the morning to see that the 'Inland view' was a large frosted/opaque window that you couldn't see through at all, poetic licence in the extreme. However, the hotel is very quiet and very comfortable. The grounds are immaculate and the beach is only over the road. The room was very clean with an ample supply of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The staff were all excellent, including the receptionist with the sense of humour. Breakfast was great. We would definitely stay here again, but not in room 115 with the bed shoehorned in. Thank you very much for our stay.

The hotel position is great for the seafront & walking into town/beaches/coastal path. Good garden outlook & furniture. Lounges are super comfy and breakfasts and snacks are very good. The staff have been very well trained. The staff are very friendly & super efficient. Downsides? Think of an aging film actress ... still beautiful, but showing her age around the edges. Bedrooms (we were top floor) are basic by modern standards and could do with a picture or two to brighten them up. Good bed & shower, so accept this as a minor issue. Will stay for our next visit to Falmouth.

Stayed at the hotel a number of times and thought i knew the pros and cons - nice location, good staff, tired rooms. This time however we were put on the 4th (top) floor and the room was really hot despite it not being a warm summer. To be fair the bathroom was big and new but the room was tiny and the mattress needed changing. Would stay again but would make sure i didnt book a 4th floor room.

Loved our room, lots of space, king size bed, sitting area inside and a great balcony with sea view. Great place to watch the world go by and relax, and 15 mins to bars and restaurants. Easy access to coastal path

We stayed in room 106, a Superior Seaview room. Amazing views and the added bonus of a balcony with seating area. This room appeared recently refurbished. This grand old hotel is a little shabby around the edges but has so much charm this is easy to overlook! You won’t be disappointed, especially if you stay in one of these rooms as the view is worth paying for!

Lovely hotel & nice location but the room was crazy small. Booked a twin & no enough room to seperate the two singles. Could only just open the suite cases & had to jump over them to move around the room.

front of house and public rooms were excellent. We were on 4th floor where refurbishment has not yet been done.Room was small. rotten windows not shutting properly and needs redecoration. There was no housekeeping at all for the 3 days of our stay. The bin was not emptied no clean towels. The comfort tray not refilled. It was not reported at time as we daily expected it to be done. disappointed as a hotel of this quality and reputation did not live up to its status.

Based on this stay, as we’ve been before, loses 1 star for slightly lower breakfast quality than previous. Likely due to being busy and our stay between Xmas and NYE. It wasn’t bad but we’ve had better hot food before. Room was an upgrade and extremely spacious however be aware you hear the upstairs guests walking around. Fortunately they weren’t dancing the night of our stay as it was 1:30 in the morning when it woke us up. Charging points made available on request. Had to move one guest as both spaces occupied by non-EV’s. Not an issue and easily sorted. Staff pleasant enough dealing with a very busy night. No bad experience here for us. Overall great hotel for our stay, place hopefully will get some more investment, a lick of paint here and there (bedroom windows paint flaking) and perhaps a new carpet or two.

Such a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Unfortunately we hadn’t been informed ahead of time of the scaffolding covering our side of the building, so our sea view was obstucted and it also meant we couldn’t open our window, so it was quite warm. The hotel has some beautiful original features and of course is in a beautiful location. I can't wait to see what the improvements are like after tge refurbishment. The rooms are a little tired and mis match at the moment. I would still recommend this hotel to people. The pool area is small but lovely and breakfast was nice too.

Good location for accessing Falmouth. Great views from the bar and dining area. Service was a bit slow and a bit hit and miss. Our room didn't get made up on the last day of our stay.

A traditional upmarket British seaside hotel which has clearly seen better days in its past, but appears to be attempting to get them back. Property shows signs of being tired in places, bedrooms are 3 star in particular, but the staff were exceptional and clearly well trained. An excellent venue from which to enjoy the town's Shanty Festival.

Under new management so changes just beginning. All staff we came into contact with were absolutely delightful. All smiling, all incredibly helpful, polite, kind, professional & truly elevated our stay. Food was also excellent. Very welcoming atmosphere.

Lovely hotel and very well situated. Ample parking and right on the beach. Check in was swift and efficient. Check in is not until 3pm so you should be aware that if you turn up before this, you will be turned away. The hotel room was lovely, albeit a little dated. The views of the sea were phenomenal. Staff were really helpful and I dealt with a lady called Lilly who went over and above to ensure I got back from the restaurant on my own, safely. My only gripe was how noisy the hotel was in the morning with people talking loudly outside the room and crashing doors and cupboards. That was a real shame but it wouldn’t stop me staying here again. Perhaps next time, I will bring earplugs

Lovely stay for the sea shanty festival. The only annoyance was lack of room service and the long queues to get a drink. The first time that the festival had been hosted here so guessing they underestimated how busy they would be! Great staff. Castle beach just opposite is lovely for a swim

front of house and public rooms were excellent. We were on 4th floor where refurbishment has not yet been done.Room was small. rotten windows not shutting properly and needs redecoration. There was no housekeeping at all for the 3 days of our stay. The bin was not emptied no clean towels. The comfort tray not refilled. It was not reported at time as we daily expected it to be done. disappointed as a hotel of this quality and reputation did not live up to its status.

The total experience from arrival to departure was made extremely enjoyable by the interactions with the hotel team. From reception to bar and dining room staff, everything was just as I expected from a hotel of this standard. High standard of cleanliness of the room, good facilities, with a very comfortable bed.

The stay was spoilt by the service in the bar. A snack, sandwich and bruschetta, ordered at 8.15 was refused because the kitchen stopped taking orders (other than pudding) at 8pm. It meant a trip out after a long journey. Later, in our room I came across a menu for 24 room service for sandwiches!!

The hotel position is great for the seafront & walking into town/beaches/coastal path. Good garden outlook & furniture. Lounges are super comfy and breakfasts and snacks are very good. The staff have been very well trained. The staff are very friendly & super efficient. Downsides? Think of an aging film actress ... still beautiful, but showing her age around the edges. Bedrooms (we were top floor) are basic by modern standards and could do with a picture or two to brighten them up. Good bed & shower, so accept this as a minor issue. Will stay for our next visit to Falmouth.

Just loved our stay here and wished we had booked for more than one night. The view is outstanding and being able to walk out of the hotel and go for a wander along the bay was fantastic.

Our stay at the hotel was good. It's great and right on the sea front. Our room was large and comfortable with good facikities. We enjoyed spending time in the lounge with friends, having a drink. Our only complaint was breakfast which was definitely not worth the money and there's more choice at a Premier Inn. It was very disappointing there was no fruit whatsoever and no sausages. We spent lots of time looking for things like sides plates, spoons etc. As I left, I mentioned about the breakfast and I received a weak apology. This was such a shame as everything else was good - but we did not have any other meals there.

Beautiful historic hotel, just a little tired in some areas but this doesn’t affect your stay. Location was perfect with Castle beach directly opposite and beautiful sea view walk along the front. Less than 10 minutes walk to the harbour with an array of shops, restaurants and bars.. Bed was very comfortable but sleep can be disrupted as floors above the rooms and the corridors outside them are very creaky, cannot be helped though due to the age of the hotel. Breakfast was a little disappointing especially the eggs, tried all options but it was hit and miss whether they were overcooked especially the poached and scrambled plus didn’t realise sauces and baked beans ( not shown on the menu ) were an option until our last day as we were never offered these and only found to be an option from another guest so best to ask your server

This hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the beach and an easy walk into town. The lounge area and dining rooms are pleasant. Dinner and breakfast were good although rather pricey. Service for drinks in the lounge wasn’t great but dinner was better. The biggest issue is that it is an old property that hasn’t been updated in a long time. Bathroom was pretty old with split flooring and old bath included. The spa area was dirty, old and not fit for purpose with incredibly noisy boiler humming, areas zoned off and not a staff member to be seen. Lockers didn’t work and we were given a towel each but no robe or slippers for the grubby floor. Couldn’t find a water station either. Definitely not an area for relaxing. We had a quick swim and got out.

We would recommend this hotel. Lovely position by the sea and just 10 minute to the town. The staff were friendly and smiley. Only have one fault, we had starters for lunch that were great so we decided to eat their in the evening. Our ribeye steak was extremely disappointing

The hotel is beautiful wven for it's age the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and very helpful. My only criticism is your menu on line says you have continental meat and Cornish cheese with you continental breakfast but there wasn't any at either breakfasts we had . We did ask and was told it wasn't always available. Sadly the service in keeping everything available for breakfast on Sunday was exceptionally slow and we had to ask for numerous items to be brought out and around the hotplates was dirty . All the same wouldn't stop us from staying there again .

The hotel is very dated and clearly needs updating. Very old furniture and pillow choice poor . The staff were great and did their best . We were attending a dinner and the food in the evening was very good however in the morning I felt the breakfast offering was not good . The buffet was limited tinned fruit salad poor choice of pastries and only filter coffee or tea we then waited over 30 mins for our hot food and could not wait . The staff did refund the cost of the breakfast for us . For the amount we paid £190 I would not expect this and certainly wouldn’t return again .

I have been going to The Falmouth for over 50 years and have celebrated, our daughters wedding, our golden wedding etc etc over these years, I booked an executive sea view following a cancer visit as a treat, the room was dark and dinchy, with a small attack window hardly executive style from previous visits, so be aware when booking re pictures

Beautiful hotel full of character, charm and original features. Perfect location, with amazing sea views and a gorgeous garden area. Amazing staff who were so friendly and helpful, and very informative. Will definitely stay here again!

The hotel is clean, nice view from the front of the hotel. Onsite car park. The building looks pretty on the outside. Everything inside is outdated, really in need of refurbishment, air conditioning would be helpful for a hot day, seating in the restaurant having breakfast and already sweating as it was too warm. Or at least a fan would help.

Reception staff were excellent, very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast staff very attentive. Pool good, liked adult only swim time. Great to see a hotel of such an impressive age still going strong
