Well looked after, no lift to upper floor was a pain, and our room was right at the end of the building quite a hike, room was nice and had the usual facilities, balcony was a plus, shame no breakfast inc in room rate, asked and was told about £16 a head.. bit pricey when wife only eats porridge and toast, mc Donald’s again … pleasant stay and will use again 😀

Clean and tidy a little bit worn in areas. The hotel is lovely the only thing is it does not have a lift so if you struggle with mobility it’s a bit difficult, there are some ground floor rooms but not many. Staff can not be nicer and helpful. Recommend

A lovely one night stay. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable and the hotel had great facilities. The indoor and outdoor pools were great. We will be staying again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

What a lovely garden room very fresh and modern feel with all the amenities within you could want. A wonderful shower, probably one of the best hotel showers I've had it was powerful and great pressure and temperature. Lovely décor and a lovely comfortable bed. Really nice well maintained gardens and property.

Liked the parking pool and facilities comfort bed and clean duvet and pillows. Not great position but ok for stop over bathroom a little tired rust in bath and sink water damage to doors overall good value.

Dated hotel that reminds me of an old American motel or Butlins, really run down needs a big renovation, the bathrooms are vile and the towels are dirty and smell damp. The bedroom is basic and dull, dirty cups and spoons strange smell and no bottled water, it gives off a Butlins vibe when you look at it from the pool side, just really grimy I wouldn’t stay again even if the staff were nice, couldn’t wait to leave so left before 6:30am

Loved our stay here. Great room, immaculate condition. Very classy hotel. Dinner was delicious and we had probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had at an hotel. Great value for money.

The room was spacious and newly decorated, with a very comfy bed, and all spotless. Staff were very friendly and helfpul. The pool and sauna were a great bonus (note that the saunas are in the changing rooms, one for women and one for men).

We had a very pleasant stay at the barnstable hotel , the staff were eztremely helpful and friendly nothing was too much . The entire hotel was spotlessly clean , the food was excellent both breakfast and dinner i would definately return and recomend to anyone

Booked a pool view room (24) for my wife and her friend at extra cost but when she arrived the room was very noisy due to pool machinery. She complained and it wasnt possible to allocate another twin room and was told it would stop at 11pm but it didnt and they got very little sleep. Ruined the stay. Emailed hotel manager after got home but no response from the hotel which was disappointing

The room was too warm at 28 even with window open. The air conditioner wasn’t working properly an£ stopped when it got to 25! We asked for help and was told the windows needed to be closed bu5 even though we did this th3 temp just rose to 27 The night staff said the air conditioners have not been emptied and we could hav a free second night, but I would rather have my money. I wouldn’t want to stay in a room not hot again. The facilities weren’t brilliant either.

The room was outside of the main hotel. The room was very cold with a single radiator which didn’t warm the room. I am sure the rooms in the main building are ok, but the outside rooms are cold. I would NOT recommend this hotel on the basis that you may end up with an outside room.

Pretty good standard for price . Room and bathroom good. Food at barvwas really good . Staff were very friendly. I was in room 3 and the sound deadening between rooms was very poor. When the chap next door made a phone call I could hear the other person's voice and on the other side of me I could hear the ladies have a wee!

Good hotel, comfy room, friendly helpful staff. However, I booked through hotels.com they wouldn't give me a receipt because I hadn't booked with them direct. Strange because I get a receipt everywhere else I book with hotels.com. My credit card statement shows that The Barnstaple Hotel had taken the money too! Just be aware if you are on a business trip and need a receipt for your expenses.

Nice hotel within 15 minutes walk to the town centre. We had a room overlooking the outside pool, it was clean and nicely furnished. We didn’t use the indoor pool as there were quite a few children in there ( it was Easter holidays so this was to be expected) however my husband used the gym and was very impressed with the facilities. Would book again

Great hotel if you just want to use the very well presented facilities inside the hotel confines. It's easy to find but sitting on the edge of an industrial estate. Its a 15 minute walk into the centre of the town.

We had a fabulous stay at the Barnstable Hotel, all of the staff we encountered were friendly, welcoming and accommodating at all times. The hotel was comfortable and the facilities were all excellent. The breakfasts were fabulous a great choice for all guests including a specials choice for those that wanted it. The restaurant was also great in the evening and the food was excellent and a great selection for children. We would definitely stay here again

Warm welcome and friendly service. Would stay again without hesitation. Ate in bar, was very goood and not unreasonably priced. Comfortable, large well equipped room. Excellent shower in bathroom.

Loved our stay here. Great room, immaculate condition. Very classy hotel. Dinner was delicious and we had probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had at an hotel. Great value for money.

We had a very pleasant stay at the barnstable hotel , the staff were eztremely helpful and friendly nothing was too much . The entire hotel was spotlessly clean , the food was excellent both breakfast and dinner i would definately return and recomend to anyone

Hotel is very clean , lots of parking available , friendly staff and a good large restaurant . One big downside is no lift , if you have big suitcases , bags or unsteady on feet it is rather difficult .

A lovely hotel, great pools. Room decent size with a good size bathroom. Didn't hear neighbours which was great. Breakfast brilliant with eggs made to order.

We stayed in a first-floor pool view room and overall it was a mixed experience. The room itself was a great size and felt genuinely luxe, with a huge bed, very comfy pillows, and cushions and bedding that gave it a polished, premium feel. The outdoor pool was another highlight: clean, calm in the evening and a lovely place to relax after a busy day. Unfortunately, several details let the stay down. The balcony was dirty and in need of a refresh, with plain concrete flooring that made it feel unfinished. The bathroom was the biggest disappointment: dated, poorly cleaned, with hairs left behind, a toilet flush that didn’t work properly, and towels stored above the toilet, which felt awkward and unhygienic. The room also lacked proper soundproofing, so we could hear banging doors and noise from other guests throughout the stay. The TV was poor quality and the fridge didn’t work, which added to the sense that some areas are overdue an update. The staff were friendly and amicable, and the breakfast was excellent. There was a generous choice of unlimited continental, cooked options and specials, and smoked haddock with poached eggs was a real standout. Fans were provided in the rooms, which was thoughtful, but air conditioning would have been more appropriate for the price. We also felt the hotel lost a star for not offering room service, and the only bar being next to the main restaurant meant there wasn’t a quieter place for a drink. £10 for two Pepsi Max was very expensive!
