Beautiful historic hotel with absolutely stunning views over Mount Teide on one side, and the beach / mountains on the other. The old furniture was very in-keeping with the architecture and it had been beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner were brilliant, though the same breakfast for a whole week got a bit repetitive - would have been nice to have had some more options or menu rotations. Dinner was amazing though. The food was lovely, and specials every day too. We ate there about 3 evenings and ate in town other evenings, and the hotel food was definitely some the best we ate on the whole holiday. The pool side is beautiful, and I had a massage one day, which was lovely (needs to be booked in advance). The hotel gardens were very pretty, with many different plants and cacti 🌵, and were very pleasant to stroll through. The location of the hotel right at the top of the cliff was fine for us, and a very good means of exercise to walk down to town and back up (phew! Leg muscles!) but for anyone with mobility issues, it might be a challenge. The Parador was a good base in San Sebastián to explore the rest of the island (the bus station is a 15 mins walk) and we’re glad we stayed there.

You arrive in the 1920’s deep charm and you just keep feeling wowed.. - the most beautiful hotel, stylish room, amazing garden, pool, view and not least outstanding restaurant. Das beste vorweg: Super tolle Lage und ein wirklich toller Pool. Das wars denn aber schon…. In dieser Preisklasse einen so unfreundlichen Service an der Reception und dem Frühstück, geht gar nicht. Es geht auch gar nicht, dass man das Frühstücksbuffet nach 0900 nicht mehr auffüllt oder nur teilweise. Frühstücken kann man bis 1030. In der Badewanne fanden wir Haare und im Zimmer roch es nach Kanalisation, echt widerlich. Nach Reklamation wurde im grossen Stil ein Raumspray angewendet, dass einem nur noch schlecht war. Die unbequeme Betten waren dann noch die Krönung. Wir waren mit einem Baby in diesem Hotel, was wir uns nie wieder antun würden. Wir fühlten uns sehr unwohl mit dieser steifen Atmosphäre im Hotel.

The room was gorgeous, with a ceiling fan, and the entire parador was beautiful, with secluded seating areas enhanced by antique furniture and paintings. The parador is perfectly situated, overlooking the bay and giving a view of glorious sunsets. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

We were disappointed with service in the restaurant in particular. Mis-taken orders. Staff chatting with one another while holding a meal en route to a table. The Main dishes were just average. We enjoyed the fresh fruit at breakfast. I don’t believe that a coffee machine with decent coffee in each room ought to be too much to ask at the price level.

We have stayed in a few Paradores now and think that this has the most beautiful setting - overlooking the port of San Sebastián, it is a tranquil haven - classic architecture and sympathetically furnished, with a decent restaurant and lovely staff. The best place we stayed on La Gomera.

Lovely room with a view of the harbour. Extensive grounds. The hotel felt quite dark and oppressive. The restaurant served the worst food we had on the island . When we complained it was shrugged off with no acknowledgement. Very disappointed as our first stay in our parador but very much overpriced and underrated. Overpriced
