The Litcham Bull Inn

This is a nice pub with a good atmosphere, pleasant staff and good beer. There is off road parking and outside space. Food is good with good produce although a bit limited to old fashioned hearty fare. Rooms are a good size with comfortable beds, the bathroom was a bit tired and the lighting not so good and the room a little bit unprepossessing but at the price I would recommend it especially as you are clearly welcome and staff are flexible.

Nice toiletries and plenty of them. Outside seating is great particularly on a sunny day. Local shop, deli and chip shop are very close and have good selections available. Central for all North Norfolk attractions. However, there are some issues, mostly due to the age of the property and the need to run a bar and a hotel on a limited budget. The courtyard could do with a massive clear up and tidy. The decor and furniture in our room was showing signs of wear and tear but nothing exceptional or leading to any problems. Our biggest bugbear was with the shower. Either the shower head needs changing or the pump in the electric unit is on the way out. It was difficult to get a reliable temperature or a good flow. I am sure that Sue and Clive will have this dealt with in the very near future and it shouldn't be a problem for future guests.

A really classic North Norfolk country Inn. Full of locals and roaring log fires in the winter right the way through the day. Not a boutique hotel, or anything resembling a Premier Inn :-)

If your ideal stay is a good but sterile budget chain hotel, then don't book this. If you like to stay in 500+ year old quirky old English inns and taverns, then you'll love The Litcham Bull. Our room was accessed via narrow stairs and was a loft room. Comfortable beds and clean facilities. Real country pub feel in the bar where you can meet the locals and have a locally produced pint. What sets this venue apart from many others is the amazing meals. This starts with a large choice of menu plus specials such as fresh sea bass as available. The real treat is when you eat your selection. The quality and flavours are so good. You might not expect to find such good food in this small unassuming inn but give it a go even if you are non-resident. Breakfast was also superb. Go for the Full English! This is has been a family run business for many years and they all make guests very welcome. Will return again if in the area.

I slept well. It was quiet at night. No noisy people. The bar has a nice atmosphere and the locals were friendly. I had the choice of eating in the bar section or the restaurant, as I was alone, I ate in the bar with my pint. Really tasty home-made food by Clive and a great breakfast. The restaurant, which is separate from the bar, looked very nice. It also has a courtyard to park in. I would highly recommend The Litcham Bull Inn .

Sue was very nice, texting prior to arrival. First impressions of the facility weren’t great; there were lots of ‘dead’ planters in the courtyard, unused children’s play stuff, tables and chairs just looking sad and it generally looked glum & scruffy. The room, for 3, was tidy enough, but felt very cold; especially the bathroom which only had a small mildly heated towel rail, but was quite a large room with high ceilings. Although it was clean, it smelled foisty & damp, which made it difficult for me to get to sleep. There was black mould in the shower too. The whole place felt ‘unlived in’ and cold. The breakfast was lovely and service very kind. The log fire was in use; which warmed us up somewhat. It just seemed a bit ‘tired’; in need of a touch of paint!

This is our second visit to this lovely country pub. The food is amazing both evening meal and breakfast. All the staff and owners are lovely and sitting by a lovely real wood fire with a cup of tea in the morning is just magic.. highly recommend

An old world pub with rooms and great food, nothing fancy about the building just good honest caring people and so friendly. The pub is extremely old with timbers everywhere on show. Parking of site within a small courtyard off the road. The staff cant do enough to make you feel at home.

Wonderful hotel attached to a cosy pub and fab restaurant. Rooms were clean and comfortable, we stayed in a triple which had plenty of space for us all. The staff are incredible, kind, cheerful and thoughtful. Would highly recommend.

I will definitely recommend this Inn. The staff was very warm and welcoming, specially Sue, she was very kind and accommodated our requests. My 4 year old enjoyed it. The property was very clean and neat, special bed for my 4 year old was kept in the room, they really take care of all your needs without you asking for it. The breakfast was superb very filling and delicious.

Very friendly Unfortunately on arrival our room had a plumbing problem so we were offered alternative rooms which were ok but we booked delux and the rooms were not Totally understand that these things happen but room smelt of damp and bedding wasnt great Had a lovely breakfast.. very hot full english

Our children were very welcomed and there were clean toys for them to play with. The room was large and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.

Amazing personal service, nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic, the rooms are clean, tidy, have everything you need. Highly recommend The Bull to anyone.

Quiet place to stay, excellent food, clean and tidy room. Building facilities needs a bit of TLC, damp some places but its an old building. Old fashioned run down a bit. Overall it was okay.

I very rarely leave comments but as I have scored so low I want to explain. Unfortunately there was a dreadful smell in my bathroom. The owner must have known as it was awful and there was a can of air freshener left on a chair outside of the room. There were other factors as well but I'm not here to crucify anyone and hopefully it was a one off, although they should really close that room until it is resolved. I did not eat dinner or a proper breakfast as it genuinely put me off eating there. There was no wifi either in the room either as it didn't reach that far. I can see my feedback is out of sync with others but I can only comment on my experience and to be honest I really should have asked for my money back as it was the worst experience I have had when staying away.

On arrival, the greeting and check-in was very friendly and first-rate, and we were shown to our room. It is on the first floor and there are some steepish steps, so really not suitable for the infirm (but there are others downstairs and cater for the disabled). The room was basic but pleasant and looked recently decorated. Large wardrobe for clothes and big chest of drawers. The bathroom was clean but without a shower, again not really suitable for elderly & infirm. This was the only negative of our stay as we like walking and it would have been nice to have a shower rather than try to wash in a bath. The bed was quite comfortable, maybe smaller than most (however, difficult to fit a larger one in because of the shape of the room). Being on a crossroads, traffic was a little noisy at peak times but sleeping at night OK. Our host Sue and her staff were extremely friendly and they were happy to ensure all was fine. The breakfast was a choice from a hot food selection and pretty large portions. This was also true of the dinners. The Steak & Kidney Pie was enormous as was the Mushroom Stroganoff, and delicious. Not being an alcohol drinker any longer, it was good to note that they stock some of the better non-alcoholic beers. The Inn dates from the 17th Century and has much character, but you need to mind your head and watch the steps!! All in all, ours was a very pleasant stay in a lovely inn in a lovely village. We hope it won't be too long before we can visit again.

Food and menu excellent. Major issue was total lack of mobile phone signal. WiFi was virtually non existent apart from in bar area. Green light in bedroom also not conducive to a restful night

Pub and food was great. Breakfast was very good. Rooms popr quality. Light was faulty. Shower would not let me get temp right. Freezing or boiling. Bed very uncomfortable. Poor nights sleep. Now milk in room to go with tea or coffee. Paid £95 each for 2 rooms and both had same issues. Other room no hot water. No milk and very cold and agin very uncomfortable. Poor nights sleep. Shame as staff and owners really freindly and hope they take these comments to put right.

Nice atmosphere, friendly pub and a good room - comfortable enough to do some work at the desk/ table. The only negative for me was the Wi-fi connection in the room, and lack of any mobile connectivity - but so what? This is a place to rest and relax, neatly situated in the middle of Norfolk - "twenty minutes from most places in Nelson\'s County": I\'d recommend this place for work or vacation, sensibly priced with an amazing menu! Lovely old coach house. Food excellent. Family room in old converted hayloft was very cold. Poor heating and none-in the bathroom.

Sue made contact on our day of arrival to see if we wanted a meal etc and was very welcoming. Both breakfast and evening meals were very tasty and cooked to my dietary needs. If we were in the area again we would certainly come again

Have to say a lovely B&B and Sue the host was brilliant, nothing was to much and went out her way to make sure you was ok Breakfast was lovely, and Sue asked if we needed more toast or tea, a nice touch

From the time we arrived until we checked out, Sue, Clive and the rest of the wonderful people at the Bull Inn were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent, we had one evening meal and 2 breakfasts. Would stay again if in the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Sue and Clive, food was amazing and we would like to thank Sue for going the extra mile in helping us find button holes for the wedding we were attending during the Easter bank holiday.

Fab stay. Host made us very welcome. Sue couldn’t do enough for us. Even putting the heating on in our room before we arrived back from the Thursford show. Lovely breakfast and plentiful.

Brilliant accommodation for anyone requiring one in the area. We stayed for wedding at a local venue and we couldn't fault it at all. Rooms were just what we needed and our hosts Sue and Clive couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful! Would definitely considering staying again if needed for the area again. Certainly plan to have dinner in the pub as well, very good value, very tasty and amazing portion sizes. Would only note, the room we stayed in called 'Fakenham', only annoyance is Wi-Fi did not stretch to the room at back of the car park where it is located and phone signal wasn't great. So needed to go outside most of the time to take calls and send messages.

Great location for the North Norfolk coast. Friendly welcome and excellent food and drink. Lovely village with nice common for walking. Shop, deli and post office for essentials.

The Bull Inn at Litcham is a quaint old English country inn. Breakfast included was excellent. The room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. Staff were very helpful. The location is good for exploring North Norfolk. We had a pleasant and enjoyable short stay.

We both really enjoyed our stay at the Litcham Bull - a great central location in a lovely village to visit other places in Norfolk. The Bull is a lovely traditional local pub and the food is amazing. Sue and Clive are brilliant hosts and we will definately return

We stayed at the Bull for a nearby wedding, it was definitely the best choice in the area. The owners were welcoming and helpful, and the pub is cosy. We stayed in one of the courtyard rooms for three, one double bed and one single. The room had everything we needed for our short stay. The breakfast was amazing, delicious and fresh.

Great place to stay if you want to explore Norfolk. Excellent accommodation, but the food is amazing, great cooked breakfast in the morning and dinner is also excellent and if the pork belly is on then you have to have this. Sue is an excellent host and all the staff are wonderful. Lovely village setting
