Wonderful place and very dog friendly. At first glance you may think its too nice for them to be accepting of our canine friends, however this isnt the case. Also, the surrounding area is beautiful and dining excellent.

We booked a Shepherd's Hut for the weekend. The location is stunning and the Plough Inn is a lovely pub. The staff we met were very friendly and helpful and the food in the pub (breakfast and dinner) was excellent. The Shepherd Hut was perfect. It was well equipped, clean, comfortable and incredibly relaxing. This was a perfect relaxing weekend, we will definitely return.

Stopped for the night, was beautiful honestly should have stopped for longer! Table is automatically booked in the restaurant with bookings so no worries about food… food is amazing honestly! We stopped in the shepherds hut. The bed was super comfortable. Ignore the no bedding and towels it is provided I checked prior it’s an error on the hotels.com system. Lovely, wood for fire provided with everything to light it. Shower is hot straight away. Bluetooth speaker built in and the cabin is lovely and warm with central heating and the fire… honestly 10/10

I stayed in shepherding hut. In a large field bordering a river – very picture and very quiet. Pub was busy but not noisy. Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful with a huge choice.

From arrival to departure... the experience was wonderful! We stayed in the three shepherds huts which are beautifully updated to a very high standard. Dinner was DELISH as was breakfast. AVOID paying via hotels.com because it caused serious checkout problems... but NOT the fault of The Plough Inn -- WE LOVED IT!

A lovely location to stay for a few days walking. Owners and staff welcoming and friendly, good food, breakfast & evening, good service. Shepherds huts are clean, warm & cosy. Within good distance for both Chatsworth House & Bakewell also good walks from the inn. I had a very pleasant stay, thank you to the staff.

Had a wonderful stay at the The Plough Inn - it's in a stunning location and was a perfect base for many wonderful walks and outdoor adventures. Staff were incredible, bed was comfy. Only issue was the shower did not get hot. You would have the odd 30sec blast and then would go luke warm again. Which after a day out and about outside was not ideal so I was left cold and had to layer up in clothes and in the bed until the heating kicked in from turning on the radiators.

Only problem we booked a delux room with garden view and when we got there we were in a Shepherds hut. Expedia didnt tell us this. However the Shepherds hut was beautiful but not everyone would be able to use the Shepherds hut due to mobility problems. So just be ware when you book and maybe check with the property direct which room is booked For you. Staff are so helpful and friendly and food is wonderful. Will visit again.

The Plough is a quaint and adorable hotel/pub very convenient to the beautiful villages of the Peak District. The staff were friendly, food was delicious and our room was charming. We will definitely return when we visit this area again.

The Plough is a quaint and adorable hotel/pub very convenient to the beautiful villages of the Peak District. The staff were friendly, food was delicious and our room was charming. We will definitely return when we visit this area again.

The plough inn was a hidden gem, we loved it! The staff were wonderful especially the lady on breakfast, breakfast was lovely and service with a smile! Close to Hathersage centre with some lovely pubs, we would definitely return, close drive to Castleton too for Mam tor.

From arrival to departure... the experience was wonderful! We stayed in the three shepherds huts which are beautifully updated to a very high standard. Dinner was DELISH as was breakfast. AVOID paying via hotels.com because it caused serious checkout problems... but NOT the fault of The Plough Inn -- WE LOVED IT!

We stayed in the Shepherds Hut and it was smashing. Loved the fire. Everything was provided. Both the Sunday meal and breakfast were top marks.

Great room and pub and surrounding areas for walking.Lovely little centre with a buzz around .Evening meal roast beef one of the best roasts we had ever had and breakfast excellent too will definitely revisit this place again .

Amazing hosts - made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Gave us some great tips on walking routes too. Breakfast was faultless - high quality ingredients cooked and presented perfectly. Will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay in one of the Shepherd huts. Spotlessly clean, well maintained and with incredible views. Our breakfasts and suppers were enjoyed in the Plough inn and were delicious and plentiful. Excellent staff who were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We loved every part of our stay - Thank you ☺️

Altogether lovely. We had motorbikes but the staff arranged for these to be locked away overnight, which was very kind and gave us peaceful sleep. The rooms were very nicely decorated and furnished with a comfy bed. The young man who managed the place was helpfulness personified - a perfect hotellier. The owner, Bob, is also an extraordinarily kind and charming host. The food was really good - my two German friends travel a lot and they really rated the cooking. Also, they found the Timothy Taylor's Landlord bitter very much to their liking and drank rather more than they perhaps should have at their ages. Totally recommended.
