The Royal Cabin | Private Getaway w/ Hot Tub, Game Room, Historic Log Cabin

This cabin was just what we needed. The location was quiet, but was really only a 10-minute drive from town. We were especially pleased with the way it was set up for children....lots of games and such that kept our 3 year-old occupied and our 1 year-old out of trouble. We had a bit of rain, but between showers we were able to make much use of the yard and lawn play items. Hot tub was perfect for after the little ones were in bed. Kitchen was thougtfully organized and even included plates/cups/silverware for the kids. Front Royal is a lovely town and is near lots of family recreational options.

Very nice property, liked the rustic cabin part of the house. Enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit. We plan to come back

The exterior grounds are under construction. The porches are filthy and in need of a good cleaning. The interior looked clean but the floors and bathrooms need a good scrubbing. There are no cleaning supplies for the kitchen, floors or bathrooms. The 1st floor bed room has a bad odor. The bathrooms are dated and in dire need of a plumbing upgrade as there is no cold water in the second floor sink (valve broken) and there is very little hot water in any of the showers/tubs. The plumbing needs to be rebalanced as well as the HVAC. The basement and 1st floor bedroom were very cold when the 2nd floor rooms were extremely hot. The hot tub needed its water changed after a summer of sunscreen and oils the water was very cloudy and there was a ring of slimy material around the edge.Matt has done a great job decorating but, the mechanics of the house (plumbing and HVAC) need to be addressed. Matt is a very nice host and responds to text messages very quickly.

House was very clean and well stocked. Great outdoor games for all ages. Perfect for our family and friends as we celebrated a wedding.

Comfortable and nice layout for group of nine friends during extended wine tasting weekend. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked as we do most of our cooking on these types of outings. Communication with owner was timely and responsive. Even the wildlife (deer, woodchuck, bunnies, etc.) were fun to watch as we relaxed on the back porch. All-in-all, a fantastic place to stay in a beautiful part of Virginia.
