Great Stay for Our Family in Kona!We had a wonderful time staying here as a family of five with teenage kids. The house was a perfect fit for our needs and in a great location for exploring the Kona coast. Check-in was easy, the home was very clean, everyone had their own bed, and the open living and kitchen area was great for relaxing together. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. Some of our favorite activities nearby included the Royal Kona Luau, exploring the Ali’i Marketplace (just a couple blocks away), snorkeling with manta rays, walking through historic downtown Kona, visiting nearby beaches, and grabbing a bite at Kona Brewing Company.A few tips for future guests: while the house is only a couple miles from downtown and several nice beaches, it’s best to drive unless you have bikes or are comfortable walking along busy roads. We usually enjoy walking around towns we visit, but the house sits just outside the main pedestrian areas. The good news is that free parking is generally available along streets and near most beaches. Downtown parking can be trickier—look for restaurants that validate (and check which lot they validate for ahead of time), otherwise expect to pay around 25–50 depending on location and time of day.Overall, this was a great home base for our Kona adventures, and we’d happily stay again!

Excellent rental for our family. We arrived after sunset so the house was dark. However the check-in instructions have the directions to the house; just don’t skip reading them! Kitchen was well equipped; the only thing we would add are baking sheets and maybe some more airtight food storage containers. The living area was very comfortable and inviting. We enjoyed coffee and card games on the lanai. Bedrooms and bathrooms were good sized, plenary of closet and drawer space. The AC was helpful for sleeping. This house is in a quiet residential area about 2.5 miles south of downtown Kona. You can walk to a secluded “beach” from the house, but it’s not for swimming. Swimming/snorkeling beaches are not far by car. If you walk or run, Ali’i drive is a block away and usually packed with pedestrians. First Island Realty was responsive to all our concerns. Mahalo nui!

This property was the perfect home base for our Big Island adventures! We especially enjoyed coffee each morning while sitting out on the front porch watching birds, geckos and the occasional neighborhood cat play amongst the plumeria and hibiscus. The yard is small but faces a private, gated drive and there is there is ample patio furniture.
