Received a very warm welcome on arrival. Room was gorgeous, overlooking the market square. Only slight issue was getting a little lost trying to get to the hotel reception rather than the bar. A lovely stay overall.

The room was ok, clean, but lacked the extras you usually get. The restaurant was chaotic. The food was acceptable, but there seemed to be one poor waiter dealing with it mainly and also working behind the bar. I asked for two starters, one to come as a main course. They arrived together. I asked to send one back, which they did. When it was brought out I asked if it was the same one, and the waitress (who did very little work it appeared) said "yes, you ate your starter so quickly it will be ok". First of all I would have expected a fresh one and secondly I do not expect such rudeness. Probably petty but it was rather annoying. The waiter was very helpful but overworked.

On site parking was good. Staff were very helpful. Spacious room and comfortable bed. It is an old building so not perfect in places. Food was excellent in evening and staff very good. Only one real ale available on draft when we stayed but good quality. Enjoyed the breakfast, good value overall and would happily return.

Very warm welcome from Zoe who was very efficient, informative and friendly. Lovely old building, with a lot more rooms than I expected, right in the heart of Wimborne. Room and bed comfortable. Nice kettle with good selection of tea and coffee. The bed was comfortable. The interior decor and condition of the room was a little in need of an update, but nothing that really affected the stay, more of an old building with cracks in ceiling that add to the character. I had a fan in the room, the window did not open very well, as the sash could not be secured, but no big deal really, just an observation. Breakfast was reasonably good and served with a smile. The sausage was the only part that wasn't to my taste and would have liked black pudding as an option. There is a choice of continental or hot options. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bar area is nice and relaxed, there was only one ale on at the time of my visit, probably waiting for delivery as it was a Monday. The car park is fairly large and I had no problem finding a space and appreciated the free parking. Many thanks and a special mention to Zoe who seemed to keep everything running smoothly. I would not hesitate to return to The Kings Head.
