I find this hotel has the atmosphere of a Villa in Tacany superb Surroundings. Rooms were Warm how we a bit of chill coming through the French doors near balcony. Beds were very comfortable and the fireplace was just so appealing for a chilled time. Just disappointed with not knowing the pool was out of order before arrival however our experience was just lovely. We will come back each year to enjoy our down time here.

Check in was a disaster! The hotel had accidentally allowed the wrong guests to check into our room. Took over an hour to rectify the error, meaning check in was so slow and rushed us for our evening meql with friends. The hotel did offer a glass of prosecco whilst we waited. Still very stressful for the guests who were asked to re-pack their belongings & leave and for us waiting for my pre paid room. The hotel overall is nice. Rooms could do with some tlc ( re paint and plug sockets re-attaching etc), but the bed was comfy and the room was clean. The heated pool and breakfast was nice. Staff could add some extra customer service to remember who their guests are. We were asked a few times if we were staying at the hotel when we walked in. After that check in error you would think they could remember. We were only there 2 nights so dont think its so hard. Its those extra minimal thoughts that make a 5* and improve customer experience.

Our room and bed were great, the staff and service was also fantastic. We had spent the day driving and were able to relax and have a nice hot shower. Only issue we had was the toilet water flow kept running a couple of times and was a little difficult to stop - we notified reception. The breakfast was delicious!

Rooms were lovely, breakfast was great, maybe dining option of a night would have been more convenient then going out for a meal, tv could be updated more channels maybe a smart tv with streaming services that could be accessible and wifi connection

Property looks like it was once very nice. Now pretty tired with very little atmosphere. After being disappointed by the very basic breakfast we decided not to dine here for dinner. Staff were friendly but it felt disorganized, restaurant was cold and room off restaurant is a store room. Nothing high end about this place

We only stayed for one night but we had a wonderful stay and can’t fault our experience. The facilities were beautiful and the food was delicious. We liked the little extra touches of the fire place and library. View from our balcony was amazing. I can definitely recommend staying and eating here.

If I was on my honeymoon I would want to stay there. How can things be improved? You could upgrade your WiFi. We found it slow and so inadequate we couldn't use it. We were in room 5 and there was a faulty electrical wire or connection on the left side of the bed(when looking at it). Also the phone was faulty.

Absolutely stunning property. The rooms very amazing and so were the facilities. A glass of wine by the open fire was never too much trouble for the staff here. Breakfast was yummy each day we were there.

The most amazing accident… a last minute find and was just the most beautiful property with attentive and helpful team looking after our every need. The villa is from another world but wonderfully invested in to, clean, tidy and comfortable. My only regret is not staying longer. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Everything was extremely amazing, only downside was the bed was too hard to get a good nights rest on and the shower kept changing temperature when (I assume) another guest used their bathroom.

Check in was a disaster! The hotel had accidentally allowed the wrong guests to check into our room. Took over an hour to rectify the error, meaning check in was so slow and rushed us for our evening meql with friends. The hotel did offer a glass of prosecco whilst we waited. Still very stressful for the guests who were asked to re-pack their belongings & leave and for us waiting for my pre paid room. The hotel overall is nice. Rooms could do with some tlc ( re paint and plug sockets re-attaching etc), but the bed was comfy and the room was clean. The heated pool and breakfast was nice. Staff could add some extra customer service to remember who their guests are. We were asked a few times if we were staying at the hotel when we walked in. The most amazing accident… a last minute find and was just the most beautiful property with attentive and helpful team looking after our every need. The villa is from another world but wonderfully invested in to, clean, tidy and comfortable. My only regret is not staying longer. Highly recommend. Thank you.

We only stayed for one night but we had a wonderful stay and can’t fault our experience. The facilities were beautiful and the food was delicious. We liked the little extra touches of the fire place and library. View from our balcony was amazing. I can definitely recommend staying and eating here.

Beautiful and enchanting! Wonderful experience all around! Highly recommend- you have to find a way to stay here. If we knew it was so nice, we would have stayed 2 nights but we already had paid reservations in another town for the next day. Breakfast included also.

Absolutely stunning property. The rooms very amazing and so were the facilities. A glass of wine by the open fire was never too much trouble for the staff here. Breakfast was yummy each day we were there.

My wife and I spent two nights at Villa Howden, at the start of winter. The weather was unfortunately lousy, very cold and rainy, so we couldn't get full enjoyment of the lovely grounds and location. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and that was largely due to hotel manager Phil and receptionist Yimie, lovely people who did everything in their power to make our stay pleasant. Also the room was large, bed comfortable, shower good. There were annoyances, though,such as being told on check-in that our tarrif (at the high end of Hobart hotel tarrifs) didn't include the free breakfast that was a big feature of their website's advertising, so it would cost us $33 for a single dish, plus extra for coffee, toast etc. Also, nowhere on the Web page (only in the Menu) did it mention that the restaurant was closed Mon//Tue, so we could not get anything to eat on arrival, and since it was so bleak we just went to bed without dinner. My impression was that, having charged a lot for a start, the owners were keen to then squeeze every extra dollar out of the customers. The website is misleading in not spelling out limitations and exceptions, just extolling purported virtues. By comparison, Lenna in Hobart, with a similar rating and tarrif, gave us a complimentary bottle of good wine for one night's stay! The place is undeniably lovely. Built in the 1970s, it is in the manner of an 18th century French villa. Lovely building, furnishings, grounds, views. Most positive memories — Phil & Yimie!
