The overall condition of these lodgings were run down. The bathroom fan was broken and the toilet was running and needed repair. The window unit was very noisy and did not seem to bring in fresh air. There were no basic amenities like an ice maker and all the vending machines were empty and unplugged. Sad and depressing.

We had to leave early before sunrise so a porch light we could turn on would have been useful. We very much liked having no lights on after 10 pm though! Esp with the potential bear situation. But great stay.

This is an older motel, but it is kept up well. We posted a sign to have maid service after the first night, but it was not done. As expensive as the rates are for this motel, you can find better choices in the area.

The motel was serviceable. We didn't spend a lot of time there as we got in late and left early for the train. We drove in about 8:30pm so the front desk was closed for the night and our key was left in an envelope in a drop box. Overall, the housekeepers do an excellent job at keeping things clean and tidy but there were a few issues that were beyond them. There were some mold spots on the ceiling above the shower and our bathroom light wasn't working either so we had to use our phone flashlights to see. The motel feels like an old place and is a bit outdated, but I think, overall, it is in pretty decent condition and a quiet and peaceful spot. It has a convenient location where everything is just a couple minutes' drive. I wouldn't mind staying there again.

Property over all was nice and the staff was very nice as well. Beds were harder than I like. Not anywhere in the room to plug in a charger for phones without unplugging something else. Even had to unplug the clock to use the coffeemaker.

We had never been to New Mexico before and love taking the scenic side roads instead of the highways, which led us to this gem. We arrived during a torrential rainstorm, but Tanya went above and beyond to help us get settled in. She even made sure we had a ground-floor room for our dog, which was so appreciated. Though the rain kept us in for the evening, the next morning brought sunshine and the chance to explore this charming town. The people here are incredibly friendly, and the whole experience felt warm and welcoming from start to finish. If you're passing through—especially if you're taking the backroads—definitely stay here!

When we booked the property, the check in time listed was 3pm on the Travelocity website, which is why I booked here because we had a wedding to attend at 4. No rooms we clean but we were given a key. We asked if we could just get ready somewhere and they were not helpful with that. I went up to see where our room was and to check if it was ready since we were given a key and a woman started screaming at me that we are not allowed in the rooms until 4. She preceded to yell at me across the property. So I went back to the office to cancel our stay. The front desk worker went to get the manager and turns out that’s who was yelling at me across the property. I could not believe how unprofessional the manager was. We left and did not stay here. I will be disputing the charges on my credit card.

The motel was serviceable. We didn't spend a lot of time there as we got in late and left early for the train. We drove in about 8:30pm so the front desk was closed for the night and our key was left in an envelope in a drop box. Overall, the housekeepers do an excellent job at keeping things clean and tidy but there were a few issues that were beyond them. There were some mold spots on the ceiling above the shower and our bathroom light wasn't working either so we had to use our phone flashlights to see. The motel feels like an old place and is a bit outdated, but I think, overall, it is in pretty decent condition and a quiet and peaceful spot. It has a convenient location where everything is just a couple minutes' drive. I wouldn't mind staying there again.

Wonderful greeting and service. We were disappointed that room did not have a microwave and refrigerator, but the fault is ours for not checking when reserving. A great area for dog walking.

We had to leave early before sunrise so a porch light we could turn on would have been useful. We very much liked having no lights on after 10 pm though! Esp with the potential bear situation. But great stay.

Although the room was large and the property is convenient to town, there was no refrigerator, no hair dryer, and most aggravating, the bottom "fitted" sheet on the bed would not stay on the mattress.

Checked in. No Vacancy sign but no patrons? TV was terrible--few channels and most were unviewable.. Advised clerk who stated it hoped to be fixed the next week. No microwave or fridge. Room was not made up for second day. Restaurant was closed. No discount for all this! We were the only patrons for two days.

only 3 rooms. in entire complex occupied. were not allowed to transfer to a ground floor room. no ice machine. restaurant was closed. NO room cleaning, linens etc between nights of stay, Many other superior properties in the area. Expedia should not offer this as an option.

We had left another local hotel and were in a bind for the night. We were super pleased that the Branding iron had a room. The room was adequate with clean sheets and hot water. We were not able to get ice as the machine wasn't working. We slept well and left early.

The Motel was recently renovated and seems to still be in the process, but our room was very clean, beds were comfortable, very cooperative staff, and good location to train station.

New manager went backwards to help guests. His service was outstanding as they renew to upgrade. Light breakfast was fine for me. I appreciate their efforts. Rooms were clean and functional. No complaints.

Nice place. I stayed two nights to ride the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad and the terminal was just down the street. Check in was quick and the manager was pleasant. My room was clean and everything worked. Nice big towels and the bed was comfortable. Would stay here again. Only thing I would fix would be the door lock. Deadbolt was broken and no inside latch.
