Clean, pet friendly, and convenient. They accommodated our request for early check-in which we appreciated.

I enjoyed the atmosphere of the Quality Inn. The bed was very comfortable and the room had all the amenities we expect. Breakfast was also very good. The Inn does not have an elevator, which would be difficult for anyone booked on the second floor who didn't handle stairs well.

It’s a dated property. The room is spacious but very old furniture. Everything is old. There were a lot of stairs, no elevator. I was told there were no first floor rooms available, but when I walked past the desk a few minutes later another couple was checking in and she said nope I don’t do stairs and he told her we have a first floor room I can give you. It wasn’t available for me. I had to go to the store to buy a overnight bag to bring only what I needed to the room because I couldn’t carry my suitcase up that many stairs and was offered no help. I’m 65 years old. So definitely would recommend another hotel if you have issues with stairs or carrying heavy suitcase.

They are trying to renovate. And it seems like it’s a slow process for them. Our room had little things not finished. But it was clean. That’s most important. But for $200 a night it shouldn’t have had those small issues.

I appreciate that it was pet friendly but there was a smell to the room. Maybe needed the carpets cleaned. The shower didn’t drain very well so had to stand in a couple inches of water while showering.

This property was conveniently located and quiet with comfortable beds and pillows. It was clean, but our room smelled a bit like dog - this is a pet friendly hotel. My brother’s bathroom smelled like a smoker had been in there. It was very dated and there was a very sketchy couch in the dining area with numerous stains. Kind of off putting. There is a free breakfast, but we chose to eat at Perkins just down the road.

Really friendly service, they are obviously in the process of renovating. The only negative for me was water pressure.

Front desk worker was very friendly. Once we got to our room, we noticed our door was VERY hard to open. Come to find out the door safety device that is attached to the door frame was broken and only hanging on my one screw. The bathroom door handle was broke. The top blanket on one of the beds was visibly very dirty! Black marks all over the blanket. The beds have lights underneath that seemed to be detected by movement so they would turn on( great feature!) except they would randomly turn on in the middle of the night The room darkening shade was broken so we had the parking lot lights shining right into the room. Being someone who is used to complete darkness when sleeping, there wasn’t much sleeping. The mattress was comfortable though!

We were in our room a total of 5 minutes. It had the very worst odor. Stale smoke and it only got worse after we tried to move the air more with the AC. We walked out and left our keys at the desk. Very expensive hotel room that was NOT ok for guests to stay in and NEVER should have been booked. The bathroom and tub was also disgusting. Decided to just drive home after a very long night!

Our room smelled like cigarettes and reeked. We had to keep the window open during our whole stay to hopefully remove the smell. The staff was kind, but we probably won’t stay here again.

This property needs a good cleaning. My room was good but the outside hallway carpet if filthy.

Over all ,good for the price. The bathroom did't appear clean, like it was just wiped down quick. Hair in shower. It felt like the shower was not cleaned before our arrival.

dirty public areas, bird poop in entryway, chunk out of wall, disconnected pipes under the ledge, the door safety was missing, the bench missing slats and the strip in the doorway is a tripper.

The motel is very clean-- white linens are white and soft. The beds are very comfortable. Friendly staff and management. Excellent value and we highly recommend.

Was a good place to stay overnight on our way back home from vacation. Room was clean and quiet, shower was nice. Breakfast was good. Reasonably priced.

I was initially hesitant to book a room here when looking at options in Brookings for an overnight stay for my daughters new student orientation the following day at SDSU because the photos on Expedia show an old outdated hotel. Expedia needs to update their pictures. If you want to see the current state of the hotel google the hotel. If you want a boujee hotel go stay at the Hampton, but if you are looking for simple, clean, comfortable, modern and affordable, this is your place. They have updated all of the rooms, I wish I had taken pictures to add to this review, but they are all modern now. Lots of lighting options and outlets, usb and usb-c ports, and most importantly the most comfortable beds I’ve ever experienced in a hotel, no joke. Not sure about the other reviews that say lights under the bed that go off in the middle of the night when you go to the bathroom, I definitely went to the bathroom at 3am and no lights went off. Blackout blinds, mini fridge, microwave, single serving coffee pot all provided in the room. I had no issues with noise or any disturbances from other guests. Breakfast is very simple. Toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal, premade cheese omelets, sausage links and make your own waffles. Coffee, tea and juices are also available. For the coffee they provide half and half, French vanilla creamer and sugars. The staff members were all very polite! This will absolutely be my hotel when I go to Brookings to visit my daughter.

I got what I paid for. The good: convenient location, friendly front desk, breakfast looked good, cheap, comfortable bed, bathroom was clean. The not so good: VERY outdated, no elevator so not super accessible, no cover on an outlet near my bed, carpet felt a little icky, room did not smell good. Someone definitely smoked in there and it's been covered with spray. I opened the window for a bit so that helped. I wanted affordable and it was, but I was glad it was just one night.

The staff was upbeat and welcoming! The room was very spacious, renovated (loved the motion sensing lights), breakfast was ok, but gave us a good start to the day.

The beds were really comfy but door did not shut all the way and loud in the hallways.

We were charged TWICE for the room i booked for my niece & her son. I put her credit card on Orbitz site. But at the desk i used my credit card to checkin, they charged ~$95 to my credit card, hoping to accumulate CHOICE rewards points. The clerk at the desk was unintelligible, very strong accent- i dont know if he understood me. I gave him the itinerary number, i had booked 2 queen beds, but i couldnt understand if he said king or queen- I wonder if he even used the itinerary number i gave him. He only gave them 1 bed. 2 days later my niece told me that Orbitz charged her credit card again. This is unacceptable.

Little mixup with my last minute reservation. But the great staff got it worked out.

Bunch of garbage around the property and staff had some pretty ridiculous attitudes when required to do their jobs.

While the hotel itself would get a lower grade than the 8.2 on Hotels.com, the staff was amazing. I had several difficulties present themselves due to terrible weather, and the hotel manager (?) went way above and beyond to help us out. When we felt stranded, he came to our rescue. I definitely appreciate everything you guys did to help us out last weekend!

Friendly staff at check-in but no one around for check-out. Wanted to tell them that heat wouldn't turn down unless shut off.

Our stay at the Quality Inn in Brookings, SD, was perfect. Easy, quick check-in, clean, comfortable room, excellent breakfast, and easy check-out. This is our second stay here and we will definitely return.

The check-in process was smooth, the stagg is friendly. I had an ussue with the fridge (stopped working) and it was taken care of the same day. This is the 2nd time I've stayed at this hotel and I plan to stay again, the next time I'm traveling to Brookings.

Definitely nothing special, especially for the price. The rooms do not smell good, breakfast below the standard of a typical hotel breakfast. Staff were nice!

The sign out back read “Welcome to Day’s Inn”. Our door to our room was very difficult to shut. We came home the first night to find it ajar. But we quickly determined that it had to be shut with extreme force! There was no topper to our sink and I plucked a toothpaste lid out of the sink drain. It had been there for awhile. A light burned out in the bathroom. We had 4 people staying in the room, but they only applied us with 3 sets of towels, for 2 nights. They did not freshen up our room during the day after our first night. The breakfast sausage appeared raw. The eggs were rubbery. There was no peanut butter for the waffles. The cereal dispenser crushed the cereal into sand like particles. However, the room was clean and we felt safe.

Room was clean, bed super comfy, but breakfast wasn't good. It looked like the previous day's breakfast was put back out again. We'll definitely stay again, but will make other plans for breakfast.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is worn (stairs had dried mud on the carpet and room carpet was stained). Breakfast was adequate, but napkins and forks were not restocked. Staff wasn’t visible in the morning. Overall, good location and comfortable bed for the cheaper price.

Breakfast was great both mornings. Clean and good options. Service was very good. We stay in hotels several times a month and many don’t understand the importance of good service. This place gets it.

We couldn't understand why the price of a room went up $50 from one night to the next. This needs to be posted. The hotel is adequate, but on Thursday the breakfast needed tending--no bread, coffee lukewarm out of the pot, etc. with no one around to ask. Do staff only pay attention during the weekend?
