Enjoyed pool and gym at anytime we wanted. Property was clean, quiet, and very peaceful. Things that I think could be improved: Spooners needs more staff during the day. They have one person making the drinks, cleaning the tables, and serving the food. Took over an hour before we had our food on the table. Breakfast and dinner times were OK. There should be signs where activities are so people can see their hours. Overall great place to relax and connect with your partner. Definitely recommend.

Great get away. We were looking forward to our late nights in jacuzzi and very disappointed that it was closed. Wish they would let customers know before booking or notifying them before checking in.

Overall, the staff, dining accommodation was good. Some area in room need to be updated and repaired properly. The outside and inside property needs multiple areas repaired. The gym equipment especially, tweed mill needs repair or updating. A lot of the units need TLC) look abandoned, run down and not rented out. In case of emergency, the staff on duty at the pier where boating activities take place should have access to a motorized vehicle,

Entertainment was great. Bars everywhere. Swimming pools, boats, dining, game room, bingo, feeding deer, organized fun, mini golf, bowling. Most activities are included in the room price. Great rooms too

We loved the heart shaped jacuzzi. Our main waiter was great. The heart shaped pool is great for music and socializing and the rectangle pool is great for peace and quiet. The deer on the property are beautiful and a treat to look at. The evening entertainment left something to be desired, and the Champagne Night Club was closed on Saturday night, no idea why. Overall is was great for a romantic weekend getaway.

The outdoor pool was dirty as well as the indoor. The sauna was not clean. There was no staff in the spa area, and there was no access to the speedboat. However all the staff were kind and welcoming and made sure we were taken care of. We just wish we had access to the spa activities but couldn’t because of the unhygienic conditions.

I was a bit worried after i read reviews. But we had a petty good experience. They were definitely short handed. Its a little out dated but that disnt matter to us. They should update their flyers and menus. Spoonwra mwnu said bottled beer but they had cans. Book in room stated there was a movie rental service but when i called the desk to find out how to access it i was told they sont have it anymore. We would go back but maybe during spring or fall when we can enjoy more outdoor activities.

One of the best rooms ever gotten on the property. Even the hot tub was clean and not leaving black everywhere when it ran this time. Several exterior defect like missing soffit where birds have made nests don’t really take away anything from the rooms or property. Food was decent (small portions) on Saturday but the exact same order on Sunday was twice the size for exact same items. Several of the games at their center were down due to being broken per staff but the others were still available inside as something to do. Outside like the rest of the year multiple deer would be found roaming the property including trying to eat from your hand as you tried to get food out of the bag. Place is still very walkable with my watch having marked 0.49 walking from one end of the property to the other while exploring. There is free transportation available simply by calling on property as well if you are unable to walk around.

The idea behind the property is excellent, a couples retreat in the Poconos. The good, the food at restaurant was absolutely superb. We also loved feeding the deer, they were so adorable. The bad, our room was not clean. For instance, after using the jacuzzi, and upon draining the water, a very large residue of sandy sediment remained the tub. After doing a bit of checking, it turns out this dirt came from the jacuzzi jets were means they were not or ever cleaned. To make matters worse we actually took a bath in this dirty water without even realizing. The switches also had an oily residue on them as well. We also felt the water in the swimming pool was over chlorinated. Lastly, the furniture as well as the room in general did not seem to be well maintained. I also would not recommend the suite package, since i did not feel it was worth the cost. You basically get rose petals spread all over the room, a bottle of champagne, some candles, a box of firewood and a box of chocolates. Since they dont seem to do housekeeping after a day the rose petals will start to decay, not a very nice site.

It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. When I first got there they put us in this extremely filthy room everything was old spider webs all over with peeling paint and bed that feel over. Then they upgraded us to a fully renovated room so they said but it was just a room with new floors other than that paint still peeling. The smell was horrible still many spiders and webs and the jacuzzi had black things when turns on. There was rust and smelled of mildew. The worst experience ever. Don’t recommend this hotel to no one.

First and foremost I wanted to surprise my husband for his birthday and to my surprise the room was dirty, tile coming off, mold on top of the mini fridge, not to say the freezer was filled with ice, hair in the tub. This was the Juliette room, so when I went to let them know they apologized and moved us to the Garden of Eden which was a little better but still dirty, ar this point I'm just frustrated. I will never recommend this place to no one. I did have two staff that was very nice Eric and Chris. My 6year Anniversary & husband's birthday was horrible. I also booked a surprise dinner that they don't tell you its the same dinner we ate all week, just horrible. I am beyond disappointed in this place what you see on the website is not what it displays. I spent a lot of money booking this place and I am not pleased at all.

The facilities are in need of maintenance. We reported that the sink was clogged. We seen the maintenance person leaving our room. When we checked the drain it was still clogged but drained a little faster. We reported it again but nobody came. The two AC units for are room struggled to keep the room cool. We stayed 4 nights and never had house keeping come once. The on site dinning was a pleasant experience both in the main dinning room and the grill.

in room pool was heated and awesome. The famous champagne tower hot tub was everything you expected. Takes awhile to fill but we always had hot water. Round bed was comfortable to sleep and fun to be on. room was spotless and clean. they helped set up the room for our honeymoon so sweet and perfect with flowers and a bottle of wine. of course that is something I paid for, but they did it well. Staff everywhere on the resort was very friendly and found out most of them are all long time workers....sounds to me even the employees like the resort too.

Property is very outdated. Needs a deep cleaning and new decor. Food is edible but you would be better off going out for your meals. Nightly entertainment was fair. Staff is not curt but not hospitable or welcoming either. Beds are comfy. Suites are huge. There is no view of the lake from the suites which is disappointing. Reminded me of the place Stevie and David go to in Schitts Creek when they pretend to be honeymooners.

Room wasn't very clear and had alot of spiders .... our pool was half empty and grungy looking.... the rooms need a serious update 💯 our maid didn't even make our bed the one day and left us floor matts for towels and left trash in the room . usually did room service for dinner ... got the grilled chicken salad but they forgot the chicken.... I said whatever I'll just eat it ... it took around an hour to get it 😒 so I wasn't wanting to wait any longer. The fitness center is a joke! For the price per night its not much and not worth it. The champagne glass is a nice touch and mirrors above the bed

The champagne tower room is really nice but it doesnt have a microwave, the whirlpool needs to be updated, bed in poor conditions, one of the leg broken. I found hair in the shower, I took some pictures. Also, the ladies at front desk just give you papers with info but they dont explain anything, I had to call the central to find out where should I go and how i have to do to get my dinner and breakfast.

Spent one night at the resort and frankly, that is all I need. The pros: When you could find a staff member, they were all very nice and helpful, and the food at the main dining hall was delicious. There is plenty to do as far as lawn games and archery available during the day, bowling, billiards, as well as bicycles to use. There is plenty of space so none of the areas were too crowded. The cons: The hotel was made famous in the 50's, and it seems like not much has changed since then. Every building is out dated, and some falling apart (bricks missing, rust, etc.) Its something that you can get past if you want to enjoy your stay. Spent one night at the resort and frankly, that is all I need. The pros: When you could find a staff member, they were all very nice and helpful, and the food at the main dining hall was delicious. There is plenty to do as far as lawn games and archery available during the day, bowling, billiards, as well as bicycles to use. There is plenty of space so none of the areas were too crowded. The cons: The hotel was made famous in the 50's, and it seems like not much has changed since then. Every building is out dated, and some falling apart (bricks missing, rust, etc.) Its something that you can get past if you want to enjoy your stay. Enjoyed our stay here. Rooms are in need of a refresh but it was very clean and the staff was great! Thr only think I really didn’t like was the room block we were in had no windows in them at all. Felt like being in a dungeon. We stayed in the rooms with the pool.

We stayed in the champagne tower suite the pool was not very clean and definitely needs and update had cracked bricks and gaps in between them. The champage glass jacuzzi was not veru comfortable at all definitely way too hyped up and needs to take some mirrors out not everybody is into looking at themselves in that way

Property is very outdated. Needs a deep cleaning and new decor. Food is edible but you would be better off going out for your meals. Nightly entertainment was fair. Staff is not curt but not hospitable or welcoming either. Beds are comfy. Suites are huge. There is no view of the lake from the suites which is disappointing. Reminded me of the place Stevie and David go to in Schitts Creek when they pretend to be honeymooners.

Our room (720) had smoke damage from someone using the fireplace. The walls, couch, ceiling and doors had soot all over them. After saying something they acknowledged that someone must have used the fireplace without opening the vent. I offered to show pictures and the response was “no need I’ve seen it”. It wasn’t noticed the first night because it was dark and we got in late from enjoying ourselves. We noticed the wall above the fireplace the next day when the jacuzzi light was on (shades were drawn). On the 3rd day it was really noticeable because the shades were open and the lamp light was on. If they knew it was bad why put us in it. I informed them that a couple gallons of paint would go a long way. She replied with “I’ll write it down”. It was way more pleasant 10 years ago. I don’t believe I’ll be going back, even though friends want to plan a trip there.

I liked the outside nature. I did not like the way my fiance and I was treated by the restaurant employee, she was extremely rude. Also I did not like how the television did not work and nobody checked to make sure everything was good before we checked in.

Let me start with this was a birthday gift for me my birthday was on 2/20 arrived 2/19 when I arrived around 4:30 pm long wait time finally when it was my turn to check inn I was told my room wasn’t ready which made no sense because check in time was at 3:30 they couldn’t give me a time when the room would be ready just informed me that someone would call me I should just enjoy the amenities on the property which was something we wasn’t ready to do this was almost a 5 hr drive we just wanted to relax for a while shower than have dinner but in the meantime we went back to the car 6:30 came around haven’t heard anything so we went back to front desk the manager was trying to find us a room in the meantime I I was telling her how unacceptable this is she offered me to stay longer for check out time at discounted rate which made no sense why would I pay anymore money this wasn’t a cheap trip and I couldn’t even get in the room when I needed finally got a key Great We filled the hot tub we notice stuff coming out it was somebody else rose petals that was clogged in the drain disgusting called the front desk to let them know they offered for someone to come fix I declined and just didn’t use it this was a birthday gift to me it was a terrible experience waste of money time and gas

The room was great minus the ice cream half eaten in the freezer. The staff are super friendly. And they have daily couples activities. Breakfast has a lot of selections to choose from. There is deer everywhere! We were able to hand feed a few the corn they sell for the deer.

I never leave reviews but this place is NOTHING like the pictures. It gives off motel vibes. As soon as I pulled in I asked for a refund, which the lady at the front desk said I needed to go through Expedia to get my money back. I went home after 5 minutes of being there) they stalled giving my money back every time I contacted them there was a new excuse and ultimately didn’t give a refund. I wouldn’t stay here even if I was being paid to stay

My husband and myself enjoyed our stay! Stacey at the front desk was amazing she was very accommodating and took her time with explaining everything regarding our stay! We loved the games with Billy! The rooms could use an upgrade however our room was very clean! Thank you cove haven!

I loved the swift check in systems they have in place. I checked in at 3:30pm and received my room number an hour and 30 minutes later. I also did not receive all of my items included with my package until the next day and i was promised they will be available in my room during check in. Room was nice and clean. Some special features that were included within the room did not work. Ex: starlights. Heater did not work in the living room space. Bathroom fan was also broken. Guest services were uncaring when concerns were brought up. Best part of this trip, the bar and restaurant. Bartender was very professional and friendly. Restaurant waitresses and hostess was exceptional. If i went back, they would be the reason why.

We arrived at 330 for check in. Was told room was not ready. They would call when it was. We drove around the porperty from building to building tired from our drive. Checked at 530 no answer. Again told they would call. Finally at 630, three hours after check in time I was switched to a handicap room that wasnt reserved by anyone. That room was freezing. Heater didnt work in the hot tub/bathroom. While it was quiet and the food and drinks were good.. our first night was ruined by waiting hours and then end8ng up uncomfortable and cold. Those logs did not warm the room. Again the staff was friendly but it didnt make up for not being able to relax and nap like planned before dinner. I have mever in my life checked in and three hours later still waiting on a room with no explanation for why we were told check in was 330 or no communication at three hours about it unless i went back in to ask. If i am paying for a room I want the room. Im not sure id come back simply based on that fact.

When we retired to bed an pulled the sheets back to lay down; they were filthy. Hair, grit, and dirt all under the covers. Under the pillow was dirty tissues. We called the front desk only for rude Wendy to have 1 sheet and 2 pillow cases sent to us. Thank God for Cheryl and the Housekeeper Mgr Beverly who made sure we had fresh everything. The food is so amazing. The facilities in the rooms are awesome. We already booked our next stay. The DJ was jamming too. Breakfast was sooo Bomb on Saturday but the Sunday wait was horrible causing them to rush and provide uncooked food. The gift shop has everything too. We didnt like the deers so close to our room either but they allow feeding them so drive super slow on the property.

It was very romantic. A peaceful retreat for me and hubby. We enjoyed the room very much. And we are from NY so the super friendly deer almost scared us until another guest told us that you can feed them. They'll eat right out of your hand..soo kool. Will visit again soon

As long as you go in embracing the fact that it’s an older property, Cove Haven is wonderful! I’ve never had a more attentive and friendly staff! The atmosphere is relaxed and fun with tons of activities to do as a couple or to join others. The lake is amazing!

Food was amazing!! The rooms are great. You can feed the deer!!!!!! They come right up to you. The complex is built on a hill so be prepared for a mild workout. The rooms a spacious and comfortable.

Overall a very enjoyable experience. Lots of good people who genuinely care about their job and satisfaction of the guests. Room was clean however could use some TLC but by all means not bad. Food could definitely use some work especially for the prices but once again it was terrible. It was a great experience and I think it has great potential to get even better. My fiance and I had a wonderful time celebrating our 4 year anniversary.

Stay was just ok.Check in was fine and service at check in was great.Room had a couple problems but we were moved and giving a basket of goodies for our trouble.Room was nice enough,still out dated but nice.I only ordered the breakfast due to the last time we stayed my chicken came out looking like a hockey puck,even the waitress said she could not believe they sent that out.After 2 calls and the lady at check in offering dinner and assuring us that they have a great new chef since we stayed last we decided to try it one night of the stay $80 wasted!!.My beef filet strips I ordered medium they came out damn near raw with one side brown and the other looking like it never seen heat!!My girlfriend ordered chicken Marsala cause it's her favorite and neither of us liked it even a little.Her vegetable of the day we're green beans and carrots and I could hear her biting into the carrots they were soooo hard.Both tables beside us had the same vegetables and not a 1 of the 4 ate theirs either.My scalloped potatoes and cheese cake were good..lol..SMH!!!

This was a surprise trip from my husband and he was very nervous, but he and I were so impressed by the beautiful grounds scattered with friendly deer and geese. The staff in the office were so helpful with every question we had. We had the meal plan which was well worth the cost. Full breakfast buffet along with the dinner which included soup to dessert! Simple choice like a great burger up to prime rib! The waiters and waitresses got to know us and were extremely friendly and fun. Rooms could have stood some updates but for baby boomers, we appreciated the nostalgia. When we requested room tidying and clean linens, the staff was very accommodating. We plan on driving up to see the leaves changing in October. Holidays seem fun with things scheduled every weekend. Splurge and really relax and enjoy. Life is too short. Boat ride was a great time too🍾💕🎉
