Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Auburn

Pleasant stay--greatStaff and Good Value! My boyfriend and I had a very pleasant stay at the Econo Lodge & Suites in Auburn, Michigan. Although I was extremely disappointed with the booking experience through Hotels.com, I want to make it clear that the issues were not the hotel's fault. In fact, the hotel staff was wonderful! They were very kind, accommodating, and welcoming. They allowed us to check in early and check out late, and they genuinely seemed to do their best to make sure we were happy with our stay. They succeeded, and we truly appreciated their efforts! My frustration was with Hotels.com, not the hotel itself. When I booked the room, the description and listed amenities indicated that we would have a private jacuzzi or whirlpool. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were given a standard room without one. I spent almost $100 expecting a jacuzzi room, so this was very disappointing. I also felt that I was overcharged for the room. I contacted Hotels.com to address these issues, but they denied responsibility and failed to offer any accommodation or resolution. Despite the booking issues, the hotel itself was actually 1 of the nicer places I've stayed in. The staff treated us well, the experience was pleasant, and the hotel offers good value for the price. My boyfriend and I would absolutely stay here again! My recommendation: I would definitely recommend the Econo Lodge & Suites in Auburn, Michigan, especially for anyone looking for an affordable and pleasant stay

Everything was great except the bed was very uncomfortable

Called in to let the hotel know that I would be checking in after midnight. Room was already paid for in advance, so shouldn't have been an issue. I arrived a couple minutes after 1am. No one to be found working the desk. Picked up the phone they have for this instance, no one answered. Called numerous times no one picked up. Finally, around 1:30am an employee showed up. Asked for name, said someone already checked in to my room. I asked how it was possible. She had no answer. So now I could be on the hook for any damages or anything because they just let anyone use a reservation. The paperwork she showed me had been signed and initialed by someone but did not even come close to matching my initials or signature. They clearly do not check IDs, nor do they care to. Good luck staying here.

Ok for a night on the road. No breakfast. Older place in need of updating.
